    BABAYARO GONE!!

Excellent news. Was contributing the square root of fuck all to the club.
  3. A genuinely touching moment. The bloke is, and always has been, sheer class. Love him to bits.
  4. Disagree. Aye, he got the ball first off, but the trailing leg quite clearly tripped him as he went for the ball. It doesn't matter whether he would have got the ball or not. Isn't football great? If it had have happened in the other box, I'd have been livid. Contact was made but it didn't stop Martins from getting a shot off - he was nowhere near the ball and could never have reached it. The contact made no difference to the run of play and we were fortunate it was given. Not complaining about it and can see why people are saying it was a penalty, but I wouldn't have been surprised if the ref had waved play on. Same here, but I agree with him. It doesn't matter whether the ball had gone or not. I think it does matter but there you go. Certainly not going to fall out with anyone over it... It was given, we scored from it and won the game. End of story.
  5. If it had happened in the other box, I honestly believe the ref would have waved play on. Sometimes they're given, sometimes they aren't. That's why we're lucky we got it. We agree.

  7. In that case, virtually every corner played into the box should result in a penalty. The defenders always 'foul' their opponent but how often do you see it given?
  8. The defender got a touch of the ball before he got Martins. Ya he got the ball with his left foot but he took him down with his right foot!So therefore there was contact that hindered Oba when he tried to shoot If his legs were 4 yards long you'd have a point.
  9. She just doesn't sound right.
  10. I was sat in the Leazes and was surprised when the ref gave the pen. Contact was made but the ball was at least 3 yards away. It was the type of decision the home side usually gets imo.
  11. Maradona Platini Van Basten. Loads more who push them close too - Baresi, Maldini, Ronaldo, Zidane, Gullit, Shearer, Matthaus, Stoichkov, Rivaldo... you could go on for ages.
  12. I've seen the 'green shoots of recovery'. We're going to score first and win it comfortably.
  13. Got a feeling we're going to twat them.
  14. Can't argue with that one like. Fucking hell!
  15. Depends on what you mean by D-Day. It's not a 'win or get sacked' game but if he should lose to Blackburn and then again to Arsenal on Wednesday then he'd be under severe pressure. Still think he should be given the season regardless mind.

KC's? Please don't tell me you've already given your absurdity an acronym. At best it's very subjective. At worst it's a steaming pile of pigshit.
  17. They haven't decided the Jan strategey yet? Wierd imo. Maybe they have but the discussions didn't involve Allardyce...
  18. You reckon? I'm not convinced the clubs give a monkey's what we really think. Results (money) are all that matter IMO. Obviously the two tend to go hand-in-hand. Not saying I agree with it like but, by and large, aye! If the fans of the vast majority of clubs kick off big time, the manager inevitably goes shortly after. If we'd given it our all on Saturday and simply been beaten by the better side, resulting in a decent reception at full time, do you think the club would view it any differently? I don't. Same as I don't think they would have been bothered about the plenty of people massively unimpressed even when we were winning games. This is football clubs in general btw, not necessarily our new lot. That's fair enough. I just think the pressure to sack the boss starts from the fans. Results and poor performances might be the reason for the unrest but if every game was played behind closed doors then I think managers would last longer than they do. Hearing thousands of fans mouthing off must have registered and planted a seed of doubt in Ashley's mind. He wouldn't be human if he was able to completely ignore it all. I've never heard a substitution cause so much bother amongst fans as the Milner one. Piss the fans off on a major scale and you're on borrowed time imo. Not quite sure how Mort and Ashley will play this but I hope they're patient enough to give the bloke a chance.

  20. In football today, fans get managers sacked. You might not like it or agree with it but on Saturday, Sam lost a fair % of the fans with some of his decisions. Personally, I'll stick by him til the end of the season and judge him in May but I'll also admit to being totally baffled by some of the things that he's doing and the way he's got us set up. He can't afford too many more performances like that though.
  21. Me too. Meaningless friendlies throughout the year or proper games with a bit of an edge? No contest tbh. blueyes.gif
  22. I agree with you. He's seeing out his retirement playing fat knackers in California. If we're turning to him in moments of need, then we really are fucked. I know his cross for Crouch was excellent yesterday, but I don't care, he should have stayed dropped when McClown dropped him in the first place. The worst thing last night was the level of desperation in general. It was desperate. Desperate. Bang on. blueyes.gif Thing is, he's now stuck on 99 caps....
