was he £5m? think so, that would make him cheaper than chopra i think
  2. This attitude really baffles me.... we were in touching distance of the semi finals, we are not in the situation where we can throw the opportunity of a trophy away. We were also in touching distance of getting relegated. It's the slog of those group games against inferior opposition from the far corners of Europe that get me fed up, and which I think are a real drain on a club of our strength. They should make it a straight knockout competition, and dispense with the idea of 8 CL teams joining in half way through. can't decide if it was the travel and fatigue (as few players often played in both league and europe, especially early on) as opposed to lack of preperation for games.
  3. it would be interesting to find out how the club would feel about another europa adventure. would we feel happier having had the experience from the other year, basically it was a new thing for the club (management both in the dugout and boardroom aswell as many of the players) and would that give us a better footing for another season both in europe and domestically ?

As well as he's played recently and regardless of the 3 games in a week thing I'd be very tempted to drop him for Swansea, bring Anita in, Remy through the middle, gouff, sissoko adding suppprt and cabaye,Anita the tempo.
  7. if you believe the stories there's a lot of bad stuff about man utd players that fergie pressured the media into not publishing and giving them plenty of puff pieces with his players in return.

I had the relegation episode of premier passions on my comedy VHS tape. it was between bill hicks and will durst.
  9. yip. I don't even mind the timing of it. he has to do whats best for his career aswell as any loyalty to us so I don't blame him wanting a move, it's the manner of it that narks. he's getting a good move out of it, why fucak about in order to get the extra cash (unless someone can come up with a decent expanation why he wouldn't put in a transfer request at first ie when his solicitor made the statement and he got 'injured' ?)
  10. Everyone used to call them that when I were a lad, in the very old days ;-) true
  11. I guess I'm included with you singling out ~"older posters". You'll find elsewhere in the thread how highly I rated him as a keeper and that the season he left I had him as the player of the season (the premier leagues, not just the clubs) until his departure. that doesn't mean I should see the manner of his departure as anything less than deceitful and snide. as such I wouldn't wish any injury but will have a wry smile on my face should his career tank...................which it appears to.
  12. You want players at any club coming that sort of game to get round their contracts ?Ask yourself why he dididn't put in a transfer request earlier ? Yet many see it as ok, just another indicator of the game going down the shitter.
  13. Can't blame him for wanting to leave, can blame him for the way he done it, backhanded and deceitful.
  14. He'd have put a transfer request in straight away then on finding out about their interest. He didn't, he tried to get his move with the maximum for his back pocket aswell.
  15. Pretty sure the majority of us would have put in a transfer request instead of Fucking about to get asmuch cash as possible.
  16. He should have put a transfer request in straight away instead getting his lawyer involved and trying to engineer a move without the request to maximise his cash.
  17. am I the only one not to see the fuss over hughes ?
