I think that's giving us too much credit from a game management position. I think one of the reasons we've got inexplicable results is that we don't have a Plan A, never mind a Plan B, nor do players know what they're meant to be doing either individually or as a team. For the other teams in the league who are used to being briefed how to play against teams using football tactics, like possession or counter-attack, it must be a pretty bewildering experience, which is how we end up with a defender in a position to score an overhead kick or some nonsense.
