  2. I can see why he is protecting Rondon and Dubs, so much of our chances to stay up depend on them two. However, IF we sneak through this round and avoid a big 6 team next then surely we have to go for it. A run through to the quarter finals and maybe beyond would lift the whole club and once you get to that stage, who knows what may happen.
  3. or a back 5 with Longstaff and Ritchie central?
  4. Did Steve Watson not do the same for us?
  5. Rondon injured, I'd like to see Muto get a start, even if its alongside the Hoss
  6. Quite the attacking bench. Lascelles injury incoming....
  7. Atsu and Ritchie both seemed to be on the left. Almost 5-3-2 with Ritchie and Yedlin wingbacks
  8. A few questions from watching the last 15mins of the first half on the Braga stream. What formation is this and where is atsu playing? Why no names on our shirts? (assuming purely cost cutting). Why is Dubravka 12 when he is far and away the number one?
  9. Sorry to bump this again but my girl is off to Florida next weekend as N Ireland (and Portugal) have been invited to take part in the u16 CONCACAF tournament. In a group with Mexico, Peurto Rico and Haiti. She is literally living the dream!
  10. Can't expect to compete with powerhouses like Hull, Delusional to think/expect otherwise
  11. Chronicle now going with "around 5 million", we will be paying them soon
  12. What way are we lining up? Aarons or Fernandez as a full back?
  13. Women's league predicatably being reshuffled to allow Man U Women into the championship. Sunderland Ladies, who finished 7th in the top league, and who aren't a bad team at all, have been kicked out the top two leagues https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44279069
  14. Anyone got the nufctv working for the porto game? Saying "off air" for me
  15. Yep - should be able to just checked on their website - £25.99 for a one month contract. not bad, but hold on - what's this? £35 activation fee!!!!!!!! I phoned BT last month about options for this and was told in no uncertain terms that the only way was to start a new 24 month contract then pay an extra £7 a month. Shitty laptop streams it is then
  16. Ah, so that's what happened to Gael Bigirimana and why he went from decent midfielder to not good enough for league one. Did anything ever come out about what happened with Bigrimana up in Scotland?
  17. Very proud of my daughter who has made the final squad for the under 15 home nations tournament being held in Belfast this year
  18. WBA and Huddersfield look doomed but I think Watford could still be in big trouble too
  19. Caulkin running with the Sturridge loan attempt now
  20. Another f on his facebook page wouldn't go amiss either
  21. I take it he will play on Sunday, what with Gouffran being cup tied
  22. I am just back from spending the day at the academy as a guest of Pedro with my two girls. The reserves have a game tomorrow night so were in for 90mins this morning for a light session and it was full of smiles, laughing and generally all the players seem to get on well with him and the other coaches. I admit, Peter Beardsley is a hero of mine as a player but I could not have been more impressed with him as a man today. He sat with us for a total of 2 hours talking to my girls about their football, favourite players, their education and future careers etc. I twice tried to say we had took enough of his time and let him get back to work but he was brilliant and the morning actually ended with him insisting on driving us back into the town centre rather than getting the metro. He has since replied to my email this afternoon wishing the girls luck etc and again, I cant speak highly enough of him. To balance that, I wasn't overly impressed with the coaching or the facilities. Peter oversees things but doesn't do a lot himself. I also got the feeling that he isn't comfortable dealing with players parents and/or agents. That is not a strength of his and he clearly doesn't enjoy it much. I appreciate this is the second such complaint and I don't doubt there is something in it, as in he's not got great people skills. I also remember him leaving the club for Liverpool and he could have done that better but he's not the only one to do that. Back then the club ownership was just as rotten as it is now. I saw an odd headline yesterday were he seems to have praised fat Sam again. My thinking (hope) is that his relationship with Ashley means he knows big changes are coming soon and he is maybe thinking of a move to Everton. Most people seem to say he's been great whenever they have met him but accept his coaching / man management skills are no where near his playing skills were. I don't get the hatred spouted by some though. He didn't need to do what he did for me and my girls today and it is a day that none of us will ever forget.
