Really? Blimey.

the players were loyal to Hughton, who in turn would cause a scene if MA tried to sell his best players. will have no problem with that under Pardew. better to get rid now paving the way for an easy January. Unlike summer of 2009, there'll be no shortage of takers for Enrique, Carroll, Coloccini, Nolan et al now. Thought process will be: flog them all off in Jan, buy cheaper alternatives, get relegated, parachute payments, Championship is dead easy, we know that, come straight back. Repeat. It's all so clear now.
-
huh? Golfmag posted this: in the Hughton thread a few weeks ago and said this morning, before a word was said, that it was back on.
-
Given that Golfmag had this info bang on the money, I'd say Pardew's a dead cert.
-
That's madness. Especially as if we never got promoted the likes of Enrique would have left, and there's no way we'd be proud of that. He's gone now anyway mate. Won't be here next season. Top players won't hang around in a relegation battle or worse when there's no possible better future.
-
That's mad before knowing who will come in. Some things are bigger than football, Mick. I don't enjoy it anymore when things like this happen. Same reason I'd rather have Jose Enrique than Ashley Cole, yeah I want to win games (and this hasn't been done for football reasons anyway) but I also want to be proud to support NUFC and appreciate the people at the club who work hard to give me that sense of pride, tonight I feel absolutely ashamed.
-
I'd rather have stayed in the Championship with CH than this. Least I might have had some fucking pride in my club.
-
Hear hear. I liked liking our manager. I was sick of years of hating the useless cunts. Better dust the old material off.
-
There's no way this is based purely on results, not a chance, not from the same people who thought JFK was brilliant for scraping a point once every three games. He'll have asked for average Premiership wages probably, or refused to sell Carroll, something like that.
-
Is that really what we've come to though? We can't do anything so let him do what he likes? Maybe but it's incredibly depressing if so.
-
Hughton's reign is the first time I've really enjoyed supporting the club - win, lose or draw - since SBR, other than a couple of months under KK, which the fat cunt also pulled the rug from underneath.
-
It has been posted but worth posting again - for a player to come out in public and say that is massive.
-
West Ham should be on the phone to him right now imo, he deserves a bigger and better club than them though.
-
My feelings too. The signs were there and he just seemed like the right type of guy for the club. Aye. I gave him my full support because he felt like one of us, even though I know he wasn't. It didn't seem just a job to him.
-
A month ago that was, one of the best days of my support of this football club. Fucking sick.
-
Who do you suggest then? I haven't got any suggestions but then I wouldn't have sacked the manager. I wouldn't have either unless we had better lined up, but being dead against MON right now surely there's a better option (Hughton's gone and not coming back) for you that is realistic for the club right now? I don't think there is any suitable options and I think that will prove to be the case no matter who takes over, I think we'll crash and burn. O'Neill is the least realistic going btw, he spunked £100m+ of Lerner's money and wanted more, more, more.

Shepherd was still a major shareholder though (33%)?, not an employee.
-
He won two league cups at leicester and finished in the top half of the league 4 times without spending much. The game has changed drastically, even since the 90's. Aye, Heskey was good for a kick off, that's how long ago that was.

-
As a season ticket holder, I'd be 100% behind a boyco(u)tt on Saturday. Won't happen though. Bend over and part cheeks, it's the NUFC way.
-
I wouldn't be confident of O'Neill keeping us up. He only knows how to play one exact way and needs exactly the right players (English and purchased for mega wedge), which he ain't got.
-
How does a manager who isn't even average doing better than Moyes, Houllier, Hodgson, Hughes et al and we're nearly at the halfway point of the season, with less to spend than any of them, his best player seriously injured and starting off with a far inferior squad? Some people just like to do the man down.
-
Fucking hell, that makes me so angry. What a way to treat a person who's done a job for you like Hughton has! Fucking scumbags.
