  1. I like his confidence. I'm not worried, three points tomorrow and I'll be happy as the proverbial sandboy.
  2. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/08/22/beye-makes-newcastle-united-his-priority-72703-21585676/ More outstanding journalism from the Chronicle, Lee Ryder this time. "HABIB BEYE has revealed how he sat out of a gruelling journey to Libya to ensure he was ready to face Bolton tomorrow." a) he didn't say anything of the sort and b) he's already retired from internationals.
  3. I still reckon we'll get at least 2, possibly 3. I'm confident the recruitment team know what we need.
  4. Who gives a shit about the mackems and their rag-tag bunch of Premiership rejects?
  5. I'm sick of hearing about Mr "Wow". Some people will believe anything.
  6. why ? do you get it sent there not why do they live there (mind you that is a valid question but maybe for another time) Because I tend to move year-on-year and there's no way I'm going through the rigmarole of changing my address with the club every year.
  7. My ticket goes to my parent's house so I might have to drive to Hartlepool on Friday just to pick it up. They've made a right fucking hash of it.

    England

Good enough to start for the european champions though. The stick Brown gets never ceases to amaze me. Same with Rooney, both are great players for the best team around, yet apparently are shit for England...think there might be a reason for that. Then again, paradoxically I think Gerrard and Terry never really perform for England cause they're actually no way near as good as people think. Biased I know, but I still think their comparitive club form backs me up. A final word on England's best players being crap. People whinge and whinge and whinge about Lampard and Gerrard together in a midfield. How is it always Lampard's fault? Why is it he, who is clearly not a centre mid and doesnt pretened to be, who should suffer to accomodate the most headless of all chickens? If England want to make any progress Saint Steven should be dropped until he learns how to actually play in midfield, which will be never I'd guess. Lampard should be allowed to play in his inimitable Lampardy way, with a pair of midfielders behind him who know how to defend. I've noticed this place brings out the rants in me, I'm not sure why. Frank Lampard's not a central midfielder?

Piss poor defending from Terry and Brown? Never.
  10. How exactly do you expect anyone on here to know?
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7573093.stm Sigh.
  12. His goalscoring record is s**** so it's not overly surprising. yes. good. was worried that people would think i had him down as another alan smith or summat. i LIKE that he's looking to set others up to score, even after he's done most of the work! Tbh, I'm not sure he's that great at shooting, I think he's prett poor, He seems to get in behind the back 4 though so I'm hoping with the way defences play in England he can bag a few 1 on 1 goals. You've seen him play a lot then?
  13. How Ashley Young doesn't get in the team is totally beyond me. The best English player on show over the past 12 months by a million miles. I still maintain that if he'd have played in those final group games instead of Joe Cole, we'd have gone to Euro 2008.
  14. I support England because I'm English. Crazy concept? I agree re: Terry though. I've thought he was very overrated for a while and is not half the player Rio is.
  15. Out of interest why do you think the squad seems weaker? Compared to last season: Keeper is gone, Luke Young is gone, Rochemback is gone Keeper replacement Brad Jones is not good. - worse than Mark S Justin Hoyte is a decent rightback with potential and youth - equal to Young George Boateng is gone. But he didn't have a good season last season. Didier Digard played well against Spurs. Fabio Rochemback wasn't an important player to Boro so his departure is insignificant. Shawky seems alright - at least equal to Rochemback. Alfonso Alves is bound to improve. Mido is bound to play more. Both Tuncay and Aliadere are mildly talented players and both had low key last seasons. They are bound to improve. Robert Huth is bound to play more, and from the few games he had played he seems quite a good defender. David Wheater is bound to improve on top of last season good performance. Gary O'Neill played well in the middle against Spurs. Stewart Downing is still the productive usual self - and Boro aren't letting him go. Gareth Southgate is bound to improve too! Judging from his transfer dealing and tactical deployment he is indeed improving. And how about Marvin Emnes - he is meant to be talented. Lest we forget Julio Arca, a talented versatile player. Mid to upper table is where Boro belong this season.
  16. We'll still be trying to get rid of this fucker when he's dead, I can see it now "Shola's coffin too big for swanky St James' doors - Bobby Robson said to be livid"
  17. I'd love Guthrie to score. Anything that upsets those tinpot twats is a good thing.
  18. Same team but Enrique for Duff if Owen's not ready. Charlie or Milner in behind Oba.
  19. Utter prat. I see no Premiership club took him on during the summer when a few were looking and he was doing his usual "pick me, pick me" routine. They've sussed the fat prick. If he gets the job of managing one of the top four? Aye, right, I'll see you there Sam when I'm playing up front for Newcastle. Fuck off.
