He'd struggle to get 15 goals for Jarrow Roofing tbh. Tbf Jarrow Roofing have just signed former Hartlepool striker Eifion Williams who has knack of scoring goals, so Smith would have to play in midfield!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eifion_Williams Class, I loved Eifion.

If him or Duff are so much as making the bench next season, we're fucked quite frankly.
-
Take him to the bottom of the garden and kill him with a spade.

I hope Poyet doesn't go to Man Utd, it would actually make me hate him a little bit less than I do, simply because of the fact that he's already at the world's most detestable football club, the fucking pixie faced wanker.

Absolute nonsense and you know it.. Now a top class player for 12 million and we would be having a different debate.. i don't think its nonsense at all. i think he's absoloutely spot on. Well we haven't splashed out 12 million for him have we, so it's a complete non debate. Personally, if we would have thrown away 12 million on a player of his credentials I would have been far more unhappy than I currently am about signing two 'meh' players when we really need to inject some quality in the side.. What are his credentials? How much have you seen him play? In his mid twenties, never caught the eye of a big European club, a complete fringe player for his country and no outstanding statistics in terms of goal scoring or creating. If we would have paid 12 million for a relatively unknow player with those credentials I wouldn't have been happy.. Would you? That's a "never" then. Btw you've just described one: http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/350/robertnew2wf1.jpg and we paid £10m for him seven years ago and he was fucking brilliant. You've also described David "tug tug tug" Bentley as well. And Andrei Arshavin.

Would it be so difficult of you to post the source so that we could decide easily that it was absolute nonsense without having to go and find out for ourselves? http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A37087437 ffs.

Wouldn't be so keen on Bentley because I think there are more pressing priorities - namely in central midfield and up front in place of Viduka. Some top class in either of those positions would really see us pushing up the table imo.

Support a French team then. Like most french in Paris, the lady supports PSG so in way i support them as well. yes yes yes...another supposedly big club in decline. You're in Singapore now, support a team there then. Just stop coming on here and telling people from Newcastle how shit our club is. Perhaps you could nip into General Chat and slag off the city too?

They know about this, what Ashley thinks, what Keegan thinks, what Wise thinks but they didn't know about Jonas or Guthrie. Interesting. http://www.toontastic.net/board/style_emoticons/default/scratchchin.gif

That's the verse-t pun I've heard in ages.

The press are clueless as fuck. It's hilarious how little they actually know compared to the bollocks they write.

Bit harsh to be judging him after only three games! I mean whether or not he's expected to be our main central midfield signing that will drag us to glory or a tidy squad player.
-
Very disappointing comments from Charlie but fuck him. He signed the contract and if no-one pays a hefty wedge for him, tough. He stays and, if picked, he plays.

We've always bought squad players because teams need squad players - some clubs have the academies to get their squad players from there (Arsenal, Liverpool, even Middlesbrough), unfortunately we don't so it's sensible to go for young talent at other clubs who are good enough to come into the team and do a job in case of an injury rather than a foreigner who may not settle or an old hand whose legs have gone. This is even more important now we have seven subs - it was only two or three seasons ago we started a Premiership game with a 4 man bench because we couldn't fill it. For the record, Shepherd oversaw the arrival of Kevin Gallacher, Diego Gavilan, Daniel Cordone, Lomana Lua Lua, Clarence Acuna, Wayne Quinn, Andy O'Brien, Darren Ambrose... that's just a few under Sir Bobby, I could go on and on and on. All had varying degrees of success and all were squad padding. But Shepherd only ever signed superstars didn't he? The time to judge the merits of this signing is the 31st August. Until then, it's ridiculous to do so either way. Good luck to the lad, that's all I can say.
