  1. I love Miggy, but £60M? He will be on relatively low wages and is well liked, so I think he will probably stay next season, as a squad/impact sub who will work hard. He is not starting 11 material but one I would probably keep. That said, if a reasonable offer comes in, I am sure he is likely to go as I am sure Howe would make it clear, he is unlikely to be a starter if he stays.
  2. We will spend, but sensibly. We need the commercial contracts in place before we spend big IMO. I reckon a net £150m spend with a target of top 8.
  3. Would people want him here out of interest. Not sure I would. 31 next year and would take a huge amount of cash to happen and would restrict us developing the squad elsewhere.
  4. He has really improved under Howe and is a good backup for Trips. Hence not an area we should be to concerned about this window.
  5. I agree and hope its not true.
  6. Ffs. Hope this is not true. A mate, who is very well connected (agent) said its a done deal before it hit the press. I laughed and bet him £100 no way. Then its all over the papers. Hes finihed. Eddie every day of the week. Looking at the vids again from last night, he did look a bit subdued. Please no.
  7. That was class. Fair fucking play. They all turned up tonight. Big time.
  8. Tbf hes been out for months. At least he can run!!
  9. Absolutely brilliant. Great effort with the flags.
  10. How good is it listening to him, on a different level to most we have had stinking the place out over the years. Really looking forward to our game approach next year.
  11. Not sure he would quit a perfectly good job, in which is he was doing very well, just to sit at home and wait to see if we are safe or not. He is on gardening leave and there is not a lot we can do about it. Brighton clearly want him out of the picture until this transfer window is done, IMO, otherwise he would most likely be here by now - we could have easily paid to bring it forward. If was on 6 months notice (or possibly more), in which case it is announced in July at the earliest.
  12. True, did not think of it like that!!
  13. I think top 10 has to be the target but I would not expect or go for Europa, or want to be in it. It really does stretch squads with the schedule and we could really do without that, especially as we will not be able to add the quality or depth we need. For me I would love to see a season where we improve in the final third whilst building on the defensive solidarity we now how. I would like to see us compete more with the top 8, especially at home, were we should be taking more points. Our record with top 8 has largely been terrible so this is a big area for improvement. I would also like to see a blueprint for the "rest of the club" - i.e. plans for the training ground and academy start to be identified and implemented. As others have said, it will unfortunately take time to get rid of the dead wood in the squad and replace them so we need to be patient.
  14. Agree. Whilst we might have the money, I do not think we should smash it all this summer. We have to be careful and not be an Everton. 4-5 players who would get in the first team will be enough for the summer. We need to keep to spirt we now have and anymore might disrupt that.
  15. He has played his part in our recent return of points, no doubt about it - so if he helps us stay up, it really was needs must. However, that is about as far as it goes. Nothing against him as a person, but he is not what we need moving forwards, or into next season even off the bench IMO. Although I suspect as he has 2 years left on his contract, he might well end up being 3rd / 4th choice which we cannot really do anything about. No one will pay close to half what we paid, so we would make a loss on him as a player but gain big by staying up. Overall it might prove to have been a much needed signing...
  16. Went to Uni in Liverpool and lived there for 5 years in the early 90's. Had a great time and the people were generally great and made friends for life. My dislike for Liverpool football club mainly comes from being on the wrong end of results, namely both 4-3's at Anfield and a couple of incidents at the games..! All clubs have supporters who are perceived in a certain way, and they do exist. However, like most football clubs, most fans are decent enough..
  17. Absolute joke Dean is involved. The way the PL panders to the top teams is unacceptable.
  18. Coming up for this and a big weekend out in the Toon - first game back at SJP for a long time so really cannot wait! They are without doubt a brilliant team, massively in form and any result would be a huge bonus, and will possibly have a big impact on who wins the title. I am just looking forward to seeing two inform teams. They should win this, but something inside me says we will get something out of this. Just hope the place is rocking and we play without fear. We have nothing to lose, they certainly do. Bring it on.
  19. If you take our form since he joined and applied that over the season to date, we would be on 52 points now. That was with a slowish start. 25 points in 2022, second only to Liverpool. Incredible.
  20. Class video, class player. He has only been here 5 minutes and he is totally bossing it. As others have said, more quality around him and he is going to be unbelievable.
