It's more things he has said in the past and been completely proven wrong about. "I promise Carroll wont leave", "All the money will be reinvested back into the team" etc. If Nolan's "comments" are true about how unhappy he was with Pardew not fighting for him then that's worrying too, as he's said in the past he wanted to keep him. It is the way it works, so why should we be the only ones playing it straight? Look around at the crap other clubs come out with. Example: Read what Levy said about Berbatov (and other players) leaving, he knew Berbatov was gone, it was purely designed to talk the price up. Look at the false outrage expressed when players (and managers) are tapped up by clubs that do exactly the same thing themselves. You could also read what Levy and Redknapp have said about Modric leaving and let's see where that one ends up. This is a multi million pound industry and people spout all sorts of shyte to get selling prices jacked up, players to perform, players to join their club, keep fans onside etc etc etc. It is what happens, it is an industry with no integrity and we have gone beyond any justification for moral outrage. That's all true, but it wasn't so long ago our owner and chairman were judged to have deliberately and repeatedly misled us in the past so I'm inclined to think it's a bit more serious than the stuff you mention. It might not be, but I find it very hard to trust them/Pardew. That's pretty much a Keegan line from his post tribunal statement, not one from the tribunal itself mind (though that doesn't mean they didn't fuck up and confusingly failed to be explicitly clear to Keegan on their policy regarding transfers in public or private of course). As for Pardew, he hasn't lied in any great fashion for me whatsoever. Saying that he had assurances Carroll would stay, or that he wanted Nolan to stay, does not mean that he is some kind of weasel when an offer comes in the club accept, or that while Nolan is an important player now, we feel that he will be in 4 years time and deserving of a five year contract. The only thing that concerns me is his habit of fucking up his own players names and ages, otherwise, in my humble opinion, he has been more than open on the things he can discuss in public.

Have a vague feeling he didn't watch any live games since his last stint in management before ours tbf.
-
And what's that then? Pardew said he will be chasing down Charnley to write down exactly where the cash is going. That doesn't sound like a bloke resigned to letting the money disappear up Mikes jacksie.
-
It was fairly obvious from what he said that the contingency plan will only kick in if Jose goes. That doen't sound like our persuit of Taylor in the slightest.
-
Agreed.
-
Not particularly. At one point he mentioned the positives of waiting to buy players until after the start of the season, waiting to see who isn't getting a game and may become available... I'd sooner them before that but he has a point. Still can't believe someone like Arsenal didn't try taking advantage of the Shay Given situation. I thought he said one later, but hoped to have one in before the USA tour?

That's how it sounded to me. Hope so, anyway. That's how it sounded to me. Hope so, anyway. Sounds like it's a case of http://calawreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/blue_haired_lawyer_simpsons.jpg?w=150 vs http://www.iphoneworld.ca/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/lionel-hutz-iphone.gif I wonder if Ashley's a cheap skate when it comes to getting a lawyer too. Considering the ridiculous money paid to Fairfields to compensate for Mort. I'd say no.

Even staying isn't a worthwhile solution without the main issue getting sorted. If he doesn't sign a new contract I'd prefer he went, wherever his destination.
-
Nowt on any of the tottingham feeds, but KingDawson is a noted shit hot part of the ITK industry.
-
Well done mate. Hope he does awfully for you.
-
'In the bag' surely.
-
And the other guy is part of the coaching staff by the looks of it. -

If I thought the club were even interested in N'Zogbia I would also be critical if they were unwilling to match a reasonable offer. But I still don't see why people are getting exited by the idea of a transfer in the works where the only positive indications are a source saying he fancies a return, and Pardew acknowledging (but playing down) reported interest in January.
-
What for? Wanting to go to a more ambitious club? Play for his country? Not deciding or giving an indication of what he bloody wants, leaving the club hamstrung by his silence?
-
Barton has all but admitted as much himself on twitter, hasn't he? Yup.
-
Think it's his last year.

Bollocks. What a stupid thing to say. Of course it is, his record spunks all over Gyan's but if we were to sign him for £13 million people would be over the moon. Give over. Seriously... Think he was a craking deal, and now he's here, looking forward to seeing him play for us... ... but if we'd have spent over £5m million on the bloke I can't help thinking I'd have been sweating.
-
I think we need one more. Anything happens to Coloccini, and then we're sweating on the other three. Am I wrong in assuming we have no bruiser centrebacks coming through th reserves? Can't say I've noticed any.

If we can seriously push and get above the Evertons of the world after this shakeup, I'll be delighted.
-
Completely agree, I'm 99% sure we'll sign another striker though. If we don't we deserve to fail. If Best go's I'm 100% certain we'll sign another striker. Fuck it! i'm 100% sure we'll sign another one anyway. /don't let me down you feckers.

Havn't got time to dig around for the quotes, but he was apparently fit to play at the back end of the season, but his club chose not to bring him back into the team due to the dispute over his contract and him inevitably buggering off.
-
Interesting that he doesn't know whether the striker coming will be worthy of the number 9 yet. Guessing that the probably not would be Long, and also guessing he's far from first choice. Hope whoever the mystery striker worthy of the number 9 comes off. I don't think we'll sign one. I'm sure some will see this as ultra-cynical but I really don't think Ashley/Llambias like the idea of favourites, club legends, tradition, sentimentality and so on. Yeah, that does seem is pretty cynical to be fair. I think the only reason Pardew (and Hughton while here) keeps coming out with these quotes is that they are, if anything, putting too much store in the tradition. I'd be pretty disappointed if Ba ended up with the number due to us not bringing in another biggish name striker able to carry the role. But it would be even more rediculous to flat out not give it to someone for yet another season because nobody's deemed worthy enough.
