I like Leon Best like, however, I wouldn't want him as our first, second, or even third striker now. At the time I felt £4m was a very decent sum for him depending on the youngster who we could bring through or buy in to replace him. Have I missed an influx of signings? He would probably start more games than not at the moment (if he remained fit) If we fail to buy another striker, you might have a point, but I don't see that as likely. As I say, I like him, but he'll need to do better than 4 appearances in a year and start banging them in left right and centre for Blackburn before I start to get all misty eyed and wish he was part of our future again.

13 in 44+ games. If he stops being a tart and stays I think he'll have a great year, but there's no denying how rotten he was for large parts of last year.

Well aye, no doubt. I think we all realise that the occasionally odd decision at the top doesn't affect the work further down to the extent it is sometimes made out by media or the more dramatic on here, but still, that's cheered me up no end.

Love the bit about Pardew not introducing Downeys past until after a few days.

Better tell Pardew sharpish, he name checks him as one of the pluses for this season in his latest nufc.co.uk interview.

I'm Guessing thats her in the background on this pic. by the looks of the other pics she's got them grafting, reckon the fitness levels will definately be better. http://www.flickr.com/photos/40191515@N05/9312486807/ Not sure how you can tell that. The only thing I got from the photos was the horrific erotic consequences she has wrought on young Dummett.

I have been saying this for years. Gignac is totally a longboard made of sausage.

Same, hope this won't end up as an almighty cock-up and he's actually a prime peach of a player.

Wut? We're freaking awesome!

Tbh what i have seen on YT he is skillful, cool and positionally reads the line well ,but probably shite A poor mans Bony.

Where's that from? He said yesterday he was happy to stay. That was when Liverpool were apparently in for him. Sunderland is a whole different kettle of fish.

What is the normal or expected amount of time to receive updates on Gomis? No idea, Ryder's a strange bloke. That tweet was a complete no sequitur. No build up, just some cryptic remark. He's such a monumental arse sometimes.

So Barclays charge you for taking money you have no right to take? No doubt Wonga pay people to take money off them. I presume the emphasis is on how needlessly excessive those sort of bank charges are. To be honest though it doesn't make any difference how daft or hypocritical we feel his stance is, if he's sticking to his guns and flat out refusing to wear the sponsor we need to come up with a solution sharpish one way or another. People seem too occupied arguing with regards to religion and the ethics of finance and seemingly ignoring what is another farcical situation we find ourselves in. Right from the off the reports have indicated that Cisse (rightly or wrongly) wouldn't be prepared to be seen as promoting Wonga, yet here we are in the middle of pre season with the future of our only striker in massive doubt. Just a massive mess allround ,without even factoring in all the negative press and the potential problems it may be causing within the dressing room. Seconded. It's not our place to make judgements on players' decisions or convictions. At the end of the day we are here because we hope to see a successful football team, and a club to be proud of. This situation remaining unresolved is detrimental to both of the above. Needs sorting out yesterday! It's not our place to make judgements on players' decisions? Well sorry, but we have every right to judge a players actions and decisions. If he is refusing to wear the shirt and breaking the terms of his contract, then (while I can imagine he has been painted into a corner both buy his own previous quotes and pressure from outside groups), until he actually comes out and is brave enough to explain his position, there will be those of us who are both dissapointed and slightly suspicious of his actions, and hope he quickly comes to his senses like Kanout presumably did.

i'd guess pardew knows he's best there but in lat seasons situation he was the most likely to get in behind cisse, hence pushing him further forward out of necessity. Well, now we know where Moussa wants to play, and that's not cm, or dm, but number 10. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/my-best-position-is-no10-insists-sissoko-1-5869866 "For me, my position is No10," said Sissoko. "But if the manager says I must play in midfield, no problem for me."

Suspiciously quiet lately.

Our plans for next season were to have included Aubameyang. What does that tell you?

Didn't Freddy Kanoute do the same thing at Seville? Did he want out? As far as I know, the sponsors came to an agreement with him where he could wear a non-branded jersey as long as he complied in some other fashion, but as far as I know Kanoute stayed with Seville. Freddy Kanoute's name keeps cropping up as another moral flag bearer, but didn't he change his mind and wear the sponsor in the end?

Makes me laugh how people are able to pick and choose what elements of religion they like but they still hold the high groung in your eyes.

Except of course both they and Ashley see all publicity as good publicity. It's a nonsense. He plays in the Barclays League He wore a Virgin Money Shirt. He likes gambling in casinos He sits smoking shisha pipes in a scruffy cafe. It's a conveniant excuse to engineer either a move or a big pay rise. I wonder if he invests his massive pay packet in ISA's and High Interest Offshore Bank Accounts as well? He has lost all sympathy taking this stance. Utterly hypocritical. Unless he comes out and explains himself while taking into account his own past actions, I and most can only assume he's taking this position because he wants a move.

Awwww. I like the little scrote now. Can we have him? Please?
