  1. I'd reckon he'd have most of the royalties and image rights sewn up, so really only ST sales and club merchandise would be the added income from him. The fact that LJ stated that Citeh are flying out to Brazil to offer more money is quite frankly madness. He could be a huge pull though for sure, but not the pull he once was, didn't the Brazilians tear down a statue of him back home after his poor WC? How dramatic and far is this fall from grace? Where is the bottom and when does he start to climb back up? I don't think he's got it in him, like Kluivert football really isn't a passion anymore, just a job and it tells in their level of performances. If he cannot motivate his goofy hide for one of the greatest clubs in the world living in a beautiful City, then what's he going to be like at Man City living in Manchester? For £250k a week, plus fee, he's a massive gamble, and i don't think Hughes really has it in him to handle such a star, to keep him motivated and playing well, he's a tough cookie Hughes and won't take his shite on and off the pitch, recipe for disaster imo.
  2. I was going to stick a tenner on France, glad i didn't.
  3. Was just thinking the same thing, BBC need to get him on more.
  4. Ipswich & QPR are, both have had recent cash injections into them one way or another.
  5. Think he's good but BB fans i speak to reckon he's been in and out of form all season long and that's probably why the fee is low. On his day his a cracking CB, but has moments of shiteness which stand out. He knows it though and doesn't hide from it which is a good thing. PS: That will be £2m when Shearer takes over.

    Duff to Mackems?

    In before the lock.
  7. Romanian Coach - There's a Rat in my midfield what am a gonna do?
  8. Ronaldinho rejects £200k a week contract from Citeh, he wants at least £250k.
  9. Newcastle are planning to sack jailed £55,000-a-week midfielder Joey Barton unless he agrees to a 50-per-cent pay cut. Manager Kevin Keegan wants to keep Barton, despite him being imprisoned for six months in May for assault and affray. The player faces another trial later this month for allegedly assaulting his then Manchester City clubmate Ousmane Dabo last year. But the Newcastle hierarchy, led by owner Mike Ashley, executive director Dennis Wise and vice-president Tony Jimenez, are not happy and could move to dismiss the player even before the case begins on June 30. Stuart Pearce, City boss at the time of the Dabo incident and now an assistant to England head coach Fabio Capello, will be a key witness for the prosecution at Manchester Crown Court, where he and a number of players are expected to give eyewitness accounts of what happened at the training ground in May 2007. Newcastle have taken legal advice since Barton was involved in violent incidents in his home city of Liverpool in December. He has four years of his contract to run, but Newcastle believe his conviction and imprisonment give them legal grounds to sack him for gross misconduct and avoid paying up the remainder of his deal, just as Chelsea did after Adrian Mutu failed a drugs test in 2004. A FIFA tribunal have now told Mutu he must pay Chelsea £9.4million over the incident. Newcastle would try to retain Barton's registration to recoup some of the £5.8m they paid City. Barton, who has not been paid since he was jailed, has been told his only hope of staying is if he agrees a pay cut of up to 50 per cent and even that offer, which he is unlikely to accept, will be withdrawn if he is convicted in the Dabo case. Newcastle feel the forthcoming trial will further tarnish the club's image and the fall-out from the incident with former France star Dabo will hinder their attempts to sign French-speaking players. France and St Etienne striker Bafetimbi Gomis, now at Euro 2008, was the latest to reject them.
  10. Were making a space for them by selling the likes of Shola..now if only we can get rid of Duff and Smith while were at it.. Selling Smith would be like a new signing.

    Aaron Spear

15 year old Pymouth striker labelled as the next Wayne Rooney is apparently on his was to the Toon for £1m. Wise capture btw. A few places reporting this, but none of the with any decent rep, but it could be a possibility.
  12. Chelsea are preparing a £24m bid for him if papers are to be believed.
  13. 'The Hudd' would be a good move seeing as the spuds are looking to offload him for around £6m. Isn't flawless of course but i think a much better option than having Butt in mid for the full season.
  14. Breaking news on SSN's Glad to see Stoke aren't the only mugs in the world. £3.5m for a player out of contract in a year is great business. I think he'll go as well, he just didn't want to play in the Premeirship as its too tough for him.
  15. Great logic. What about 10M? Would you be happy then? Even greater logic.

    Bafetimbi Gomis

Putting in low bids knowing that they will be rejected to try and look like were doing something. Did this in the winter window with Barnes as well, doesn't fool me. no doubt everyone will get excited when we bid 50p for C. Ronaldo.
  17. I'm not sure he has cleared the debts, merely shoved them in a Topco. Though we won't know that for definite till the Topco formed files its first set of accounts. Though I do believe it is indeed part of some plan around either re-financing, maybe cash out as you say or something else. Maybe that's cynical but the longer it goes without seeing any real cash being spent, the more cynical I'm getting about Ashley's motives. He's a tight twat imo, happily ready to fuk us over.
