  1. A 6 ft 3 physical defender with experience at that level and captain of a team at that level is a good signing. Probably better bet than Caulker where the jury really is out and not convinced he's great at the back, probably better on that ball but happy to have Central Defenders that win the ball and play it simple to more capable midfielders / full backs. Where we are at is building a resilient defence which we have never had. With a Central Defender the main considerations should be anticipation, concentration, positioning and strength but not can he pick a ball up and dribble past 10 players, or can he play a pinpoint pass down the channels for a winger. First and foremost he should be able to defend and be part of an effective unit. FMtastic Yip almost like Sky Sports I know but didn't mean for it to be honest . It's hard not to compare I'd you rattle off a few attributes which normally would be perfectly acceptable in any other circumstance. FM has ruined how you can talk about a footballer... Ironically Sky Sports in the last year think it's hip to do so.

  3. Think he'll be decent. That would make 3 suitable captains for next season in our back 4 alone.

    Awesome. Everything's coming up Rafa.
  5. £24m and medical this evening? Seems to be doing the rounds.
  6. So his leg finally exploded.
  7. Go with Howe ffs. Take an interesting risk.
  8. The only thing that would upset Ronaldo more right now is if Portugal went on to win it without him on the pitch.
  9. Blackett would be an upgrade on Dummet but we wouldn't need both.

It just doesn't work like that, certainly not in any defined short space of time. I see every day how long it takes Nissan, especially the Alliance, to get anything done. Unless the plant starts haemorrhaging money it'll be there till we don't need cars. As for the QQ, its going dual lines nevermind going to someone else. Renault have their rip off anyway. Another thing to note is the Sunderland plant is one of the best (efficiency & performance) plants under the alliance, that is due to the people who work there and you can't ship them in a box. Any negative impact of the brexit will be subsidised through tax relief imho. The impact of losing 30,000+ jobs in one region, losing the tax and delivering the benefits needed would mean the Government would step in at some point. You can point at the steel industry, but that doesn't compare as its naturally dying to competition, not fucked over because of a ridiculous racist campaign (which ironically most of Sunderland voted for).

They could go at anytime, all of the hardware just goes into packing crates and can be transported anywhere. None of this is true. Its taken 2.5 years of planning just to get a new press over and installed. That's 1 of 5 (off the top of my head) The continued investment and expansion of the plant more than suggests they'll not do anything for some time yet. Like i say, 5 years time it might be different but its business as usual regardless of the Brexit result. Also those effected most will be contractors, most of them are not from Sunderland...they'll be the first to go should the reduce the output. Don't forget Nissan have a plant in Russia and those sanctions and trade issues are far far greater than anything the UK will experience of the next decade or so.
  12. Give it to the top goalscorer this coming season. Let someone earn it.

PLexit for their BRexit vote but..... shirley shome mishtake - don't the dirty peados think everyone likes them And they call us 'delewded'....the rest of the country sees them like we have for years, the unflushable turd. Whenever they have the national spotlight they make a complete embarrassment of themselves. DiCanio appointed - fascist apologists. Johnson charged - paedo supporters. Front and centre for brexit - backwards thick f*cking turkeys voting for xmas. The most prominent mackem brexiteer on national TV and front page of the Sun was a member of Combat 18. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/member-of-combat-18-from-sunderland-on-suns-front-page.1244161/ They are an embarrassment to the region and safc are a stain on the premier league. 'Respected throughout football'? Nah, just a bunch of irrelevant c*nts. When Nissan ships to France that whole town might as well just slide into the North Sea. Nissan is good for another 5 years at least. Too much current investment in to the site to move on.

    Papiss Cissé

£5m? Fucking hell, fuck the EU and let's now sell everything to China.
  15. He also seemed to care, it got to him when we lost and that swayed a few (inc me) as well.
  16. He's a centre back. Or was when he came here. Seems capable across the back 4...ideal rotational player for the coming season.

    Florian Thauvin

    Well that's his move off.

Fat Sam going with two banks of 4 with Santon playing a forward role? I doubt he's going to play him in a purely defensive role.
  19. I'm just excited to see the back of this twat. New signing is just icing.
  20. Would you still 'love' him if he fails to get us up? Just put the apprehension to one side and enjoy it for what it is; a real manager (and one of the best in the game) in full charge of the club and reshaping it from top to bottom. You can see he's a massive believer in sorting out all the little things, the attention to detail and effort he's putting in is staggering. The only way this goes tits up is the club tries to screw him over, but not even they are that stupid, they know this is our best chance of turning the club round and will support him to the hilt. We will go up, I've no doubt about it. This season is a step back to take one massive leap forward, much better than stumbling back and falling over were used to season after season.
  21. Nothing but love for the man.
  22. We should be looking for at least £40m for all 3.
  23. f*** off. Just get him off the books. Absolute travesty of a player. Never accept the first offer. Amended strategy: accept first offers for Gouffran, Colback, and rivière.
