  1. This is one of Graham Carr's signings, he has a lot of contacts in the area and lives locally, so you would expect him to be well researched. According to Wikipedia his first touch in senior level football was a back heel. Next Johan Cruyff tbh
  2. Yeah, those two are true. Also goes the other way around in that we could have had Carrick. Tbh I think Zenden would have been very good for us at that time, we would have been very happy with that one!
  3. In an alternative universe, shepherd let Sir Bobby sign Terry and Woodgate that January rather than one or the other. Robson would have kept his job for another 2 or 3 years and we'd have been title challengers year on year, and possibly gotten purchased by the Abu Dhabi lot.
  4. Justin Edinburgh. Most mediocre footballer of all time.
  5. Knowing Pardew though if asked by the bored about style of play, he probably made out he was going to play front foot, possession football. Players were then recruited based on that preferred style of play, only These players wee unsuitable for the reality of Pardew football.

    Lee Charnley

Overall, more positivity than negativity in that, although actions are better than words. There are bower now some key KPIs that Charnley has accepted responsibility for and can from now on be judged on that basis.

    Lee Charnley

...which really isn't a surprise as Charnley loves good football and dignity. Look at it through the eyes of a potential new employee, they would want support and stability to help them do their job, and so it should be until the day they are sacked. But at least if they are sacked the senior management would have tried to help them, at least initially.

    Lee Charnley

This statement looks designed to set out a clear template on the new manager 's remit before the appointment is made. It may be that a potential new manager could be willing to work under the club system, but wants it clear on the outset where each responsibility falls.
  9. He always has these good first 18 months Unless the club he inherits is in deep shit, so regardless of how he does at Palace it is irrelevant in terms of the fact that he was finished here.
  10. Yes it is a conspiracy theory, but it is not impossible. MK Dons, Swansea, Cardiff set the precedent. If there is something I've missed please point it out. Otherwise it can't be ruled out. In fact it fits very well with Ashley's history of buying a brand then eventually taking it off the market. So unless proven impossible can't be ruled out that he can do that. All for the cost of Cabaye.
  11. Security over Ibrox? I predicted a couple months ago he might try to liquidate Rangers, move Newcastle to Glasgow, rename us Rangers and effectively have Rangers playing in the PL using Newcastle's licence. Worryingly this is one step closer.
  12. It was a comment against the pro-pardew comments that players weren't replaced. Regardless on what we think, pardew hand picked Colback to replace Cabaye. So Pardew can not say he wasn't allowed to replace Cabaye, because he was.
  13. The only players we've sold (for money) under Pardew were Carroll, Nolan, Routledge, Enrique, Best, Forster, Ba, Perch, Cabaye and Debuchy. Also Lua-Lua, Amalfitano and Tavernier but for pennies. Nowhere near as bad as Pardew would have us believe. If you look at the non-fringe list of those we sold, Nolan, Enrique, Debuchy were all replaced by equal or superior players (Cabaye, Santon, Janmaat) during the same transfer window. Ba and Carroll were also adequately replaced in subsequent windows with Remy and Ba. You could also argue that Perez could be better than Remy so that is Remy replaced too. So that leaves only Cabaye and to be honest Pardew got Colback instead who is who he wanted. We even replaced Ben Arfa with Cabella if you consider HBA was surplus to requirements. So the only good player we haven't adequately replaced is MYM and Pardew thought he was shite.
  14. Probably at Lee Charnley's dad,s house in Manchester.
  15. Friend of Shearer by the way.
  16. In the lower leagues Tisdale is second to none, and you have to bear in mind he manages a very small club from a small city that don't pay transfer fees. Despite the much bigger budgets of other teams he almost got them into the League One playoffs at one point, but constant player departures pushed him back down. Before that he got non league Bath particularly high up the ladder. His track record seems to be an eye for a freebie, getting the best out of lesser players, youth development, working within a very rigid and limited club structure, selling players for a profit. It his testament to his ability that he is the first League 2 manager to get a player into the England youth setup. And in actual fact he got two. I wanted him previously when we were relegated. I would prefer if he proved himself elsewhere, but trust me he is far better, genuine, more talented, and likeable compared to Pardew.
  17. I noticed that, 1 bookie seems keen on him. Win % of 36 at Exeter, surely a contender. He is a very promising manager if you are looking at the lower leagues. In the context of what he has to work with at Exeter 36% is very good. I wouldn't rule him out doing well but think he needs to sharpen his teeth at a forward thinking Championship club first.

    Shola Ameobi

He's going to score the winner in the Derby isn't he
  19. any different to someone buying a seat in an F1 car and displacing someone who has talent but no cash Not really because Oldham are essentially being paid to overlook his crimes.
  20. So the family involved in the harassment of the victim are going to be paying his salary, paying for any lost sponsorship, and are mates with the Oldham chairman. So effectively these wicked people are buying his place in football.
  21. I read yesterday that the victim continues to be harassed by Evans' supporters and has had to move and change her identity 5 times. So he is still indirectly causing problems for his victim by not acknowledging or accepting his guilt.

    John Carver

The Chronicle always have an agenda when it comes to our managerial appointments. They will always want someone that they think they can work with. Look at how they pushed Carver for the assistant manager in the first place. The idea of having a highly professional foreign manager who does not know who Lee Ryder is, and won't be passing on exclusive stories does not appeal to them.
  23. He is finished here, but I'm surprised we can't make a few million from a Dutch or German club for him. Would be wise to sell ASAP.

    Remy Cabella

Don't think we need to compare Perez and Cabella because both play in different positions and in my opinion we have played our best football when both are on the pitch, they had a good attacking understanding in partnership, something we haven't seen since Solano.
