We dropped far more points because Isak and Joelinton were unfit or not playing. Back up for these two has to be the priority.

So chaps, what are your transfer priorities this season? Please specify in terms of profile rather than names. For me: 1) Centre Forward. Age 20-24. Must be an out and out striker worthy of our number 9 shirt, but be prepared to be an understudy to Isak but might improve enough to be his eventual replacement. Good enough to start at least a third of our games next season. 2) Central Midfielder. No older than 27. Physically imposing, tough tackling, attack minded. Left sided. Could either be someone ready to start in midfield three alongside Bruno and Tonali or to be the first CM to understudy the others. 3) Right Winger. No older than 27. Quick powerful and dangerous in final 3rd. 4) Central Defender. No older than 27. Right sided. Must be at least as good a defender as Schar but with pace. 5) Young players any position that might grow into the team one day or sold for a profit. 6) Young goalkeeper. Nick Pope with better distribution. 7) Full back. Under 23. Either side. We can’t rely on Trippier and Burn as the cover much longer 8) Central Midfielder. Young raw understudy for Bruno. I only anticipate signing 4-5 on this list so hope it’s towards the top of that list. But I’d be willing to sell Gordon to get us more from this list.

this is going to be a long long long summer
-
Games against 8-14 cost us the title. This is where we need a squad
-
Someone please ban @Dokko from SJP for going to this match
-
Glory Glory Man Utd make Froggy an admin
-
Has Young been starting for them or is this some kind of farewell showing?

What is the wind like? It is unreal in Manchester

As I said a couple of days ago, the PSR profit may be quite small it depends on the clubs contractual obligations pertaining to his loyalty bonus
-
Any loan he’s been on we’ll be receiving a portion of his salary from that club
-
even if his contract is written off in the PSR accounts, we can still claim any money we receive for him
-
Forum and SJP ban if we don’t get CL
-
Hope they don’t go up, it will be nice to have a few derby matches again, but next season back in Europe we could do without the two extra cup finals where they try to break our best players in two.
-
The smallest financial hit on Hayden is if we get him loaned out so mutual termination makes no sense
-
not my first choice but we have to replace Wilson
-
Hayden has another year we won’t be able to shift him because he won’t leave his contract. unless we get money back for Vlachidomos it’s a bad PSR loss to sell him. He’ll still be here. Pope will stay as our cup match keeper.

I think Barnes vs Gordon is going to be the biggest forum argument this summer
-
why Gordon over Barnes, he has been hopeless?
-
They should set up a crowd fund, just need every one of their 1.1bn fans to pay £1
-
presumably if Chelsea lost out to Villa or Forest they’d be Pot 2
-
Has Lee Stewart defected yet?
-
Man Utd are such big losers that if they entered the Biggest Loser competition at Weightwatchers they would lose.
-
Please tell me someone put Liverpool, Newcastle, Palace and Spurs into a start of the season trophy accumulator
-
before that can we just ban Froggy. Not forever just for a week and tell him it’s forever

Players don’t get signing on fees any more, they get loyalty bonuses and performance bonuses paid monthly over the course of their contract. If we sell a player we must still pay the loyalty bonus. Depending on the contract that might mean that we have to pay the bonus immediately upon sale, or it may be possible to continue paying the loyalty bonus monthly for as long as necessary. A player loses their outstanding loyalty bonus if they hand in a transfer request or they may choose to renegotiate the amount the are owed to facilitate a sale. Not knowing the details of Kelly’s contract, let’s split the £150k alleged into three equal parts: Basic, Loyalty, Performance. If the outstanding loyalty bonus is £50k a week for three years, that is £7.8m we’d either have to pay Kelly in June or continue to pay him. Assuming the former, we’d only be able to claim about £10m for PSR accounting purposes if those numbers are real.
