I was thinking about this in the shower earlier. My conclusion was that a good start of the season can go tits up shortly after the summer transfer window has closed.

I remember making loads of commitments but not having the time. I think I got a few series completed though, the Buying from Our Rivals was class and pretty much trolled the fans of 19 other clubs and contributed to some of the non-NUFC posters we have here. However I disagree with the notion that people can just post articles on here. I would argue that if I posted an article on the front page with my full name, and posted an article on here with my 'alias' I would be more anonymous on the front page as people on here know me and therefore have a preconceived opinion. Also it is a different audience between the front page and the forum. Someone post an article on the forum and the first reply would be: "not reading that," the second post would be "NWOAT," the third post would be: "why hasn't this gone in with the 986 page Ben Arfa thread?" What would be better would be if the writers section of the forum was brought back (where a smaller community wrote and advised each other on articles), but instead of carrying the N-O name, individuals or small groups set up their own blogs (with technical guidance from others) and then a sticky thread would link to the bloggers of Newcastle-Online and bloggers would be encouraged to post links to their work wherever they wanted on here.

You mean like when he pretty much blamed him for our performance at Stevenage? He had faith in him, i have to give Pardew that, other managers would've just stuck with Harper or bought someone like Brad fucking Friedel. Pardew brought back Harper in for Krul after only a few games in charge. The reason why he's playing Krul and not a new keeper is that he isn't allowed to buy a new one. Complete agenda driven bollocks.

Pardew has managed him well, taking him in and out of the team at the right times.
-
Won 3 of their last 16 apparently.
-
I was thinking that, the player we had wanted Emre to be.
-
From the two games I have seen now, he's also shown that when other players push in, he'll push out wide and hit a very good cross.
-
Not impressed. One good thing he can do though is carry the ball away from danger when we are defending a corner. Maybe he'd be a better sub. Hopefully Gosling will get the nod next time.
-
Don't think he has adapted to the Premier League yet and that won't happen for a while. So if he is playing well now...
-
Don't think you can teach that anticipation, the kind of position you would have expected Nolan to get into. Yep, I was gonna put that but thought better of it. You'd never see Nolan in that position, too much running required.

Now in the Newcastle Hall of Fame

His kicking was really good today. The ball was constantly dropping into the feet of Shola and our two widemen.
-
:colo: Beautiful player.
-
What an absolutely terrible player. Just kidding, looks like he's kept his attacking instinct that made him stand out at Everton, and makes a very tasty option to have.
-
Had a really good game.
-
We beat the Mackems again!
-
Has there ever been a goal scored where two players kicked the ball in the same direction at the same time? If so, who got the goal? Maybe Sammy and Shola could do this.
-
I would be tempted to start Gosling for this one as he is one who has in the past performed well in derby matches. Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Taylor Tiote Gosling Barton Cabaye Jonas Ba Obertan, Shola and Marveaux to cause late damage. 11-0 Newcastle.
-
He has won a few golden scarabs in his career.

We are run by Llambias though a gambling man going all in and then seeing what he gets. I can see him waiting ages by the phone to make the important phone calls but not actually doing so until 15 mins before the transfer window when he panics and goes for someone completely random.
-
This transfer window is cursed.
-
If it doesn't work out will he go back home crying to mummy?
-
After Graham Carr's failure in France, Pardew sends Indiana Jones to Egypt to dig up a striker.
-
Beautiful. Now watch the meltdown.
