  1. Words of Shearer. Love that last paragraph.
  2. Gary Speed on the 3 legends now
  3. Gutted. Got so much to thank him for and lots of great memories. R.I.P Sir Bobby
  4. Beattie fits into Stoke's team perfect. Stoke also have the likes of Etherington who have the ability to put a good ball into the box. If Beattie was in that team of ours last season he would have really struggled, no doubt about it. Jonas and Duff did not do the business when it comes to making chances at all. I tell you what, although i'm not comparing Carroll to Beattie at all, i bet Carroll would have got a few more goals if he was in that Stoke team than he did for us. Our teams creativity (especially coming from crosses) is a big strikers nightmare.
  5. I keep surprising myself that I keep managing to hate Mike Ashley even more than I already did. We've all said that it would have made complete sense appointing Shearer so the squad was in good shape for the start of the season and the fans are on board. He's fucked up yet again big time. Its clear he's not going to get what he wants for the club. I want to see them lot out of our club as quick as possible, but surely if he's not going to accept an offer less than £100m he could have just appointed Shearer and let him do his business in the transfer market. He didn't even have to fund much of it, he could have just let him sell before he buys. Alternatively he could have funded a promotion push with £10-20m and added it onto the amount he wants for the club then he could have been in a lot better position to get his £100m if we got promoted.
  6. It's a canny dvd actually as it goes more into the season we survived in Division 2 when he first took charge. Aye I've got the old video of it. I noticed the DVD of it appear around the time KK came back. Just thought it might be someone on ebay trying to trick people with a home made DVD rather than it being offically released on DVD. I'd love all of the old season reviews in a box set like. They'd probably actually be a good seller as well at a fair price.
  7. Is that Keegans Kingdom a real official DVD? I have seen it on ebay a load of times but always assumed somebody has converted it from vhs to DVD. Seems a bit weird that they would release this as an official DVD now when you have all of them other old videos which would sell a lot more which haven't been released. On a side note I wish everything would just get fucking released on DVD. Got the Spenders on DVD not long back but they are converted from video rather than offical DVD's because they haven't been released officially. Pisses me off.
  8. Aye i thought that was him when I read it this morning Shithouse club.
  9. If we do end up losing our best player then I would be happy with R.Taylor at right back. I'll be gutted to lose Habib though. If we had of got everything sorted out early on we might have been able to keep hold of some of our good players with a promotion at first attempt push. If we lose Beye, Bassong, Enrique, Jonas and Martins then even with the players we might manage to bring in to replace them ( ) we are still gonna have to build a whole new team and squad if we get promoted. At least if we got straight back up we would have had a few good quality Premiership players to form the basis. We're gonna have one or two maximum the way things are looking.
  10. When did Shearer tell you that you're his captain
  11. I'm not arsed either way what happens with him. I think he would do a decent job in the Championship and he would be a handy player, but if he buggers off to Sunderland then I will be quite amused as well because he is hardly the type of player you would expect the mackems to sign after all of this big money talk.
  12. When did Shearer say this habibbeye? Habib Beye is a lovely man.
  13. I bet the twat feels so sorry for himself if Hull or Stoke ends up being his best option. Of course he won't blame going to the World Cup when he shouldn't have and picking up the injury which finished him as a top class striker on himself, and I suppose he won't take any blame for his very poor form last season which has helped see us relegated. It would be lovely to see him get relegated with Hull next season. He will be full of self pity for himself though.
  14. Surely Kadar will have that role as backup with us bringing in a more experienced LB.
  15. Come on, I think its clear for all to see now thatwe should just forget that we ever thought Taylor might add set peice and crossing ability to our team. He will be ok in the league below. I think a lot of people are going over the top when it comes to saying our players aren't good enough for the Championship. There is definitely some dead wood there and things need freshened up, but the likes of R.Taylor are Championship players who will perform to a decent standard. He is certainly a decent squad player for this league.
  16. If we keep Beye and Taylor we don't even need a RB desperately. R.Taylor will be decent in that league as well. With Bassong and Colo going it is much more important we get a couple of centre backs in as well as a left back.
  17. Barton isn't gonna be here though realistically. Nolan has been terrible so far like. His energy levels and mobility haven't been up to scratch. Taking finances away, from a playing perspective does anyone think he might just do the business in the Championship? I'm the sameas everyone else like, he's been shocking. I have a little feeling he might be handy in the second tier though. I am taking this feeling from years gone by mind, not by anything he's done in black and white. When you look at the likes of Carr and Bowyer going to Birmingham when they looked buggered in the Premiership, they seemed to do ok.
  18. How the mighty have fallen. Interesting quote: "Indeed his period under Kevin Keegan in 2008 was one of his happiest and most productive spells in football and he was within days of signing a contract which would have kept him at St James' Park for the rest of his career when Keegan left the club abruptly in early weeks of the 2009/09 season"
  19. Cos he anticipated getting £12m to spend on a better player(s)? Also would have triggered a fair amount of controversy if he hadn't, given that he'd said a few days earlier that he didn't want the guy to leave. In theory that works but it seems really strange to me that he'd compromise his principles like that in order to save face for the club and then walk out 3 days later because of those same principles Well if you put yourself in his position it is easier to understand. He sells a player he doesn't want to sell but he gets big money for him and thinks he can replace him (and he probably would have with a better player). Three days later he not only hasn't been allowed to replace him, but he has watched Dennis Wise piss up big money on players who were not required. He wasn't gonna go on SSN and tell the world those were his decisions was he. When did I suggest he would? If his principles meant so much to him on September 2nd, why did he lie for the club 4 days earlier? Just seems a little odd to me Well its easier to let things go if there is an opportunity to make a positive out of a negative. When you can't do anything about a situation anymore i guess it makes you feel a lot more strongly about your principles.
