  1. I wouldn't be surprised if Vuckic starts ahead of Donaldson (only going by hype like) and maybe Geremi instead of Guthrie. Other than that I'd agree. Coloccini hasn't travelled I don't think though.
  2. ----------------------Krul------------------ R.Taylor---Taylor--------Coloccini-----Kadar Geremi---Barton-------Butt--------Lua Lua ------------Ranger------Lovenkrands-----
  3. Would you have said that if he hadn't of came back for his second spell as manager? Would you shite. Anything to have a go. Maybe he had other important commitments, maybe he wasn't invited.
  4. I would consider playing Lovenkrands on the wing for this one as well. He's clearly not a winger and I usually would never consider it but we've got no width whatsoever at the minute and we've also got a lack of pace. Just for this one match I would play him there for a bit of width, pace and he is also left footed of course. Barton has been fucking awful there and with us not having any other left footers who can play there I don't see any other option unless we're gonna stick with Barton playing in a role he clearly doesn't like and where he contributes nowt. I'm sure Lovenkrands would do some damage down the left against Plymouth and although we shouldn't look at them as if we've already won before the match kicks off, they are bottom of the league and this is exactly the type of game where Nile Ranger is likely to get a chance to open his account and give him some condifence. Ranger up front on his own has done a very good job but he has been working his arse off without any support and he will have that now in Carroll. I'd go: ----------------------Harper--------------------- Simpson---Taylor-------Coloccini-------Enrique Guthrie----Barton------Smith---------Lovenkrands -------------Ranger-----Carroll------------------- Yes I know Guthrie is out of position and normally I would have him in the middle, but the form of Smith, terrible performances from Barton out wide, and the fact that Guthrie is more than capable of putting in some good crosses down the right makes this team the best for this match imo. Barton doesn't even deserve to be in the team but if we play him in his natural position we might just see somewhere near an on form Joey Barton (who would piss on this league). I think Nolan has done pretty good and he doesn't deserve to be dropped but he's clearly not the fittest of players to say the least, and he has played in every match. Of course Hughton will probably have other ideas.
  5. I'm as sick of Nicky Butt being in the team as the next person, but "at this level"
  6. I think Carroll will score the neet. Don't have any problem with Ranger dropping to the bench. He's put in a lot of hard work over the last few matches and it will keep his feet on the ground. He'll be full of confidence and we'll have him and Lovenkrands to come off the bench if we're cruising or in need of a goal. Carroll needs to get off the mark and he will need some minutes after being out for the last few weeks. We've got a match on Saturday so it totally makes sense. I Carroll will get some match fitness, Ranger might get a run out, and no doubt Lovenkrands will get half an hour. I reckon he'll go with 2 up top on Saturday.
  7. Moyes says he will loan James Vaughan out
  8. I love this thread. The Phil Brown one is amazing
  9. With Carroll out I think it could be: ---------------------Harper-------------------- Simpson---Taylor------Colo------Enrique R.Taylor---Butt--------Guthrie---Lovenkrands -------------------Nolan------------------------ -----------------Ranger--------------------- Thats if Lovenkrands is fit enough to last 60-70 minutes. I'd prefer Lovenkrands alonside Ranger with Nolan further back than he has been playing. Although he is our best midfielder and I would play him because of injuries, I would have seriously considered dropping Barton to give him a kick up the arse. I think Hughton might drop him anyway though, unless he goes for the easy option and drops Guthrie. Butt will start although he shouldn't be anywhere near the team with other players fit and better than him in his position.
  10. I've got to bite my tongue everytime I'm with him when Hull or Phil Brown is mentioned. He gets to some of the Hull matches in a box and gets to meet players and managers. He supports Newcastle really but he goes to Hull matches more often now since its free and he calls him "uncle Phil" I really don't don't want to upset him but I feel like letting it all out when his orange head comes on the telly
  11. He is an unlikeable orange David Brent with a worse team of staff.
  12. I reckon it could be: -------------------------Harper------------------- Simpson-----Taylor-------Colo------------Enrique Guthrie----Butt---------Smith----------R.Taylor --------------------Nolan------------------------- -------------------Carroll----------------------- Not that I agree with that team one bit like. I've got a feeling that he will drop Barton though. It looks like Butt is coming straight back into the team and theres no way he will drop Smith or Nolan. Guthrie has got a couple of goals recently so I think the only decision he will be thinking about it Barton or Taylor. Barton is our best midfielder when on form, but he played poor against Leicester and he has already been on the bench this season. I think he likes R.Taylor as well and he will probably want him on the pitch for set pieces. With our lack of width I really wouldn't mind seeing us go: ------------------------------Harper-------------------------- Simpson------Taylor---------------Colo------------Enrique --------------------------Smith----------------------------- --------------Guthrie-------------Barton------------------- ------------------------Nolan------------------------------ ---------------Ranger--------Carroll------------------- It will never happen though. If Lovenkrands is anywhere near fit then him ahead of Ranger.
  13. You what? It was in the paper yesterday (or was it the day before) saying that he was meant to be doing a Talk in there but he cancelled and apparantly he has gone abroad to help him keep off the drink. Norman the owner of The Clock said he would never invite Gazza back again. Just heard hes been booted out for sniffing, was going mental by all accounts. He was a total mess like :-[ I wouldn't believe it. Why would he be there if he cancelled a talk in a couple of nights ago because he was away abroad and the owner of the pub if massively pissed off with him. He's supposed to be abroad reet now

  15. If our wingers (well whoever plays out wide) can provide some width and decent crosses then I would fancy Carroll to get a fair few goals.
  16. For anyone against signing him, what would you have said about Ameobi, Smith, Nolan and R.Taylor last May? Probably sell if possible for the majority of people. Harewood is an experienced Premiership striker who will cause teams problems in this division if he's in a team of players who excelling. Theres nowt to lose on this one. An extra experienced body in who has shown at times that he can be effective.
  17. I'd be happy if we brought him in on loan. What do we have to lose? As we've already seen, players who performed terribly in the Premiership are looking a class above in this league. He would be coming into a team in good form playing alongside players who are superior to most players in this division. If Ameobi can shine in this league than theres no reason why Harewood can't. If he looks shite then we've still got Carroll, Lovenkrands, Ranger and Ameobi when he comes back and we can send him back. Nothing to lose. I reckon he'd be decent for a few goals.
  18. Doubt Lovenkrands will start like: ----------------------Harper------------------ Simpson-----Taylor------Colo-------------Enrique Barton-----Guthrie------Smith----------R.Taylor --------------------Nolan------------------------- ------------------Carroll-------------------------- I reckon
  19. Moved Shearer on? Up until the end of the 03/04 season he was good enough for anyone in the Premiership. He was still banging them in and performing consistently.
  20. Surely we should be looking to bring in around 3 players on loan like. It shouldn't cost us much and we need to bulk the squad up a bit. Cathcart and a winger would be nice. I'd like us to sign another full back and striker as well but I can't see it.
