  1. My mates just text me saying Ossie Ardiles wants the job They've just been discussing it on the Legends so something must have been said (unles he's took it from listening to the Legends) As if
  2. They probably will finish around 10th I think. You don't even need a great team to finish 7th, 8th, 9th really. If we had stopped up we could have bought a few players in like that and we would have been back in the right half of the table as well.
  3. Malbranque's a good player still. Doesnt really score many goals these days though
  4. Wheres the goals coming from in that midfield? Richardson and? Richardson?
  5. It would be fucking great if we could get ourselves back up quickly and have a comfortable wage bill for the first time in god knows how many years. Such a fucking disgrace that any business we might do incoming is going to be done at the very last minute. Just trying to be positive like but it would be/have been a sort of blessing in disguise if we could have got rid of all of the huge earners and brought in players on a more manageable salary who can actually play together on the pitch and produce results.
  6. Is the England match on telly the neet?
  7. To the tune of I Am The Resurrection by The Stone Roses (aimed towards fat Ashley) Down Down, you took us down I see you fucking up our club and I can't sleep at night Your face it has no place No room for you inside our club we want you out of here Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do Leave leave, we wish you'd leave We're sick of the bullshit we've had enough you clueless twat Cut loose, you're no use We couldn't stand another second in your company Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do Stone me what can't you see You're a no-one nowhere washed up you're worse than Fred Your brain is far too small We don't like the way you've killed this once great club Don't waste your words we don't need anything from you We don't care what you say or what you plan to do You are a fucking failure and we want you out We couldn't ever bring ourselves to forgive you for your lies (Followed by lots of drunk dancing and humming for the epic ending to the song)
  8. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11695_5485067,00.html Heap of shit really. The only team he might walk straight into out of them lot is Hull maybe imo. Some might argue why he wouldn't move on to one of them clubs to be second choice if he's gonna be second choice here, but after having a taste of the action of Saturday I think he'll realise he has a hell of a chance here. Portsmouth can't afford him and we won't sell to Sunderland.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Well for one he got more than one assist last season. The only alternatives are R.Taylor and Guthrie. Them two have a better delivery than him, but they don't have any pace or have much ability to take on a full back. If we lose Jonas and use one of them two as a winger then we losing the unique things Jonas does have compared to most of the other players (pace, ability to beat players, ability to stretch teams), and we are swapping it for a make shift winger who won't open up teams at all going foward. Lua Lua is not an option either despite what some people seem to think. The lad is only young and apart from the fact that he will not be ready for a 46+ match season, he will also proably only give us what Jonas gives us but less consistently. I haven't seen much of him, but from what I hear he is quick with an ability to beat players, but his end product is lacking. He's only young and that can be worked on, but he's certainly not the answer short term. Its simple really. Buy a replacement or keep Jonas. We have nobody at this club who can come in for Jonas and make us a better team in his position.
  10. No way will Shola be dropped for Ranger. If we're gonna be realistic then I think we'll be unchanged. Hughton was gonna pick 1 up front against West Brom by the looks of it, but that would be very negative at home like. Id love us to be positive and play Ranger and Carroll up front but it just wont happen. Even bringing in Barton for Nolan and Lua Lua for Ameobi (with Duff alongside Carroll) would be a bit more positive.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Unless we can get someone cheaper in who has the ability to beat players and make a bit of space then we need to keep him. Its frustrating as hell when he does the hard bit but fails to deliver the final ball but as it stands we have no alternative. I'd be happy for him to leave if we can find a pacey winger to replace him but if not then we need to keep him. I reckon he might end up with a fair few assists this season if we keep him. He obviously can't cross for shit, but just with his ability to beat players I think he will open up a fair few of the poor defences in this division and if he's got someone like Barton (and hopefully a new striker) pushing on then then he will find them a lot more times than he would have least season against Premiership defences. He was guilty of failing to deliver again on Saturday but the lack of options in the middle was disgraceful. Lets face it, if we sell him and don't buy a winger then its gonna be Ryan Taylor or Guthrie on the right.
  12. I'll take a lot of pleasure looking at Phil Browns orange head when they are relegated next season.

    Geremi

Howay man, if we can't afford the players we are letting go now then we certainly can't afford Geremi. We should make him available for free (if he isnt already). Fuck trying to get money for him, I'll see getting his wage of the bill as getting money for him.
  14. The only first team players I actually have any fondness for now are Harper, Taylor, Enrique, Guthrie, Jonas and Carroll. Thats probably more than a lot of people still! The rest can fuck themselves.
  15. Have you seen how many defenders we have left? Have you seen how many prolific goal scorers we have in our squad? Have you seen the dazzling pace we have in our team? Unless replacements are brought in quick sharpish, we have an excellent chance of being relegated again. We will end up in no mans land if we don't sort this f***ing mess out sharpish, but relegated from the Championship? I take your point about the defence and we really do need to strengthen there (I think we will in the end), but we will definitely have Carroll, Ameobi, Ranger, Smith and Duff (if we're desperate) available for us. I don't think we will lose any of them due to huge wages, not being good enough for a Premiership team to sign, and the young lads will feel they will have a chance to shine. Them players there will see that we're not totally f***ed up front. Theres nobody who thinks we need a couple of strikers more than me like, but if the worst comes to worst. Lets not delude ourselves into thinking this squad is strong enough for any sort of promotion push, but it won't go down either. I think a Premiership team would take a punt on Alan Smith and Duff by the end of the window tbh, could just be wishful thinking but seeing the likes of Zamora going for 5 million gives me hope. Can't see it at all. Isn't Duff meant to be on £60,000 and Smith on a similar wage as well? We would want £2-3m each for them I think plus any club who wants them will have to offer them a wage which isnt too far of what they're on now or they will just stay here.

  17. I don't know why people are blaming him for moving. He's done his best for us and put his body on the line at the end of last season. He stated he would be happy to stay and help us get promotion and I have no doubts he would have IF he had a manager and was given a contract extension. What was he supposed to do? He doesn't owe us anything. He could have stayed with us in this current mess and went into the new season with no manager and a contract which offers him no security if he gets a bad injury, or he could sign for Aston Villa with a 3 year contract in his pocket, playing in a good team with a good manager and he will be challenging in the top 6 next season. Its a no fucking brainer. Some people need to think for a minute.
  18. Its like selling Solano to Villa a few years ago. Fans favourite and he seemed to love playing for us.
  19. I'd love to see Phil Browns orange head now. I'm very sad to see him leave but I accepted it a few weeks ago now. I'm happy for him that he's signed for a good club, he's one of the few of our players who I acutally like.
  20. £12M? The Times reckons it's £8m up front, rising to £12m. We'll never get that extra £4m like, unless it's based on Spurs going for top four but ultimately being rubbish. That'll do!
