  1. We won't pay the premium for British players who are in top form though. Not only that, but while we're in this position in this window, the only ones we are likely to attract are out of favour players or players who are unhappy and are at clubs around us. We're not a very attractive proposition at the moment. I think most teams in the bottom half of the table would certainly like to have signed Shelvey and Townsend though if possible.
  2. He probably fancies his chances for the Euro's if he plays every week because Hodgson does seem to like him. At least he should be motivated to play well.
  3. It will surely be a loan with a view to permanent though. Probably hoping to pay for him with money we might get back on Thauvin in the summer.

The Ayew approach sounds so ridiculous, it makes me wonder if they've had some sort of indication that he might be available for transfer for some absolutely ridiculous reason. Surely not though. Apart from the fact that 75% of the league would be interested, it would put a nail in Swansea's coffin.

Noel's just announced some UK gigs for April. No Newcastle though. Think I'll make the effort with Super Furry Animals supporting Glasgow, The SSE Hydro (April 21) Aberdeen, AECC (April 24) Liverpool, Echo Arena (April 25) Leeds, First Direct Arena (April 27) Birmingham, Genting Arena (April 29) Bournemouth, BIC (April 30)
  6. I wonder how far you would have to go back (Alan Pardew aside), where another Premiership manager would have actually signed him? We persisted with him, then when he leaves he gets found out everywhere he goes.
  7. I have never heard a pundit/ex player say a negative thing about Colback. They all sing his praises when his name is mentioned. It is a strange one. Especially for such a top midfielder like Rob Lee. He was everything you could want in centre midfield, Colback is about 700 mile behind them standards.
  8. I still remember my reaction, and everyone else around me as well when that Everton goal went in. The look on people's faces was priceless.
  9. There doesn't seem like much middle ground with Colback from our fans to me. There's the ones who think he's great and should be one of the first names on the teamsheet, then there's the ones who think he's complete shite. I think he's decent enough, he just shouldn't be in our first choice team. If he had of came through our ranks rather than from Sunderland after all of the shite that went on, he probably wouldn't get the flak he does.
  10. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/15115/9973676/anthony-martial-to-manchester-united-what-you-need-to-know Can he be compared to anyone? Martial had the chance to work with former United striker Radamel Falcao during their time together at Monaco and also regarded Newcastle striker Emmanuel Riviere as a player to look up to at the club. "I try to learn from Falcao, and Manu Riviere as well - his movement is excellent - it's really good for me," Martial told BeIN Sport. "I need to work on my movement and my finishing, but seeing these guys on a regular basis gives me a benchmark."

Think the Austin rumour has came from the hoax link going around.

Another £50m next summer and we might find ourselves on the way to Wembo.

Borini is a done deal apparently. Should add 6 goals to them.
  14. Enrique was better than both of them. There was a point where I used to actually enjoy a winger or full back try and run at him, because Enrique used to come out on top of any race or physical battle 9/10 times.
  15. There is no chance of us signing Carrick. I think he would be an absolutely brilliant signing for a year or two. To have someone of his quality on the ball would give us a massive boost.
  16. Absolutely loved watching Enrique, Coloccini and Jonas take the piss on the left in the Championship. Was beautiful and hilarious to watch the little connection they had going on. When we came back up it continued.

  18. If the rumours about them trying to offload Cabella are true, then I'll be surprised if he starts mind. I'm also not convinced Sissoko will stay.
  19. Sorry but Perez starts every time for me.
  20. I'll be amazed if he isn't first choice. I think McClaren will love his energy and 'stats'.
  21. People seriously kidding themselves that Colback won't be first choice.
  22. Some people on here were actually discussing the possibility of McClaren replacing him this summer McClaren will love him man.
  23. Listen to it here: https://audioboom.com/boos/3212296-kevin-keegan-says-mike-ashley-is-running-nufc-from-another-planet Makes you feel emotional listening to him.
