  1. If we avoid any of those, I'd be satisfied tbh. Sick of British mediocre managers being touted. Have my fingers crossed for Garde. Well that depends there are plenty of said cloggers and maybe a few sound mangers that would both be interested in the job and willing to work within the structure, even though they don't agree with it, or harbour delusions that in time they could change the boards mind. My worry would be accepting one of those names when it's only going to create friction or excuses further down the line. Would be delighted with clement as well tbh.
  2. Shame houllier had such a sweet deal with red Bull. Would be freaking amazing to bring him in as dof to work with Carr and garde.
  3. We should round up those usual suspects and lock them in a dungeon until this blows over and we appoint someone. We could host a shit football managers roundtable.
  4. This Have they ever actually done that? i see people say that a lot but I can't remember any examples of it You can see it being useful with players you want to sign but managers? Especially this time of year. I guess it might make sense if you are speaking to someone that is already in a job but in this case it would only really serve to piss off the press, fans and remi garde lol. ..unless it's Ashley's end game. Build up supporters hopes to a garde or Tuchel before hiring David o'leary on an 8 year contract then selling the club. Guess who wins again. Can't see these other candidates being as much of a mystery if true. Think it's Garde we are just giving a few mixed messages or maybe as per norm no messages to keep the press guessing while we take time ironing things out with garde.
  5. All these remi talks are a smokescreen for the guy they really want.

    John Carver

Yup, one season. Ah but to Paul that season was over in a sniff, he probably doesn't remember.
  7. Oh my goodness  And the man management maestro is at work. Bet the strikers at palace feel great.
  8. Until he weasels himself on to staff..literally the first person on staff I want to see gone. "You need someone local remi, I'd be happy to help..just for the record, I've always loved your work and have always ignored what Stoney, wooders and beardo always say about you. Did I mention the people I have also worked under.."
  9. Well they can't spend all evening pissing around in London. Stiflers mates hotel has rooms waiting.

    John Carver

Interviewer after the game asking if still wants the job, an how obviously the fans were behind him being appointed. Fucking press want nothing more than us to appoint someone shit like carver. Not least now the likes of de boer, tuchel and garde look like possibilities.
  11. Draw would have been fair, but won't begrudge them the win even if they did fluke it with getting a penalty that shouldn't have been given and one waved away for Spurs that should have been.
  12. Well who knows now but I was convinced he would be back in some capacity sooner or later. Wasnt it almost common knowledge he thought so too? So sad.
  13. Encouraging. Still looks lacking in the end product but I think that will come with confidence.
  14. Just like the free flowing football we were finally playing under Hughton, palace will probably continue to pass the ball neatly for a while until Pardew has fully coached them down to s**** again so he can impose his own brand of football on the squad.
  15. Williamson is comical. This second half has been an utter shambles. Came out from half time beaten with no intention to put up a fight. Pathetic stuff. You think we would have been hyped up by our first half performance. Manager aside we need a cb, winger and striker (for Perez to play off) pretty desperately.
  16. Carver cringing at half time. Stone having a go at mourinho about the foul and carver just trying to pick up hugs and make friends..vote carver. You know Jose I knew Bobby too. To be fair to carver we had a good first half. We don't have anyone cclinical where it counts but I didn't expect him to fix that in two weeks. Not least when he hasnt in four years.
  17. Stickers been sniffing the brown sauce too deeply again and has got confused. Stiflers fwend. http://i1.cdnds.net/11/28/550w_movies_inbetweeners_trailer_best_bits_8.jpg
  18. We wouldn't be signing him for the Prestige. He will probably blow anyway.
  19. Ched Evans player manager is more appealing than Carver tbf.
  20. If its at all true I reckon he will watch from home or be sneaked into a directors box, but be in the stands for the Southampton game. Tuchel or De Boer seem more exciting appointments from the outside but there is probably not a better fit to our system as Ashley wants it then Garde. His role and experience at Lyon in various positions makes him ideal. My only reservation with Garde is that I think we are crying out for an inspiring figurehead and character, not only for the players but more to bring back together the fans and capture the cities imagination again. Garde seems more Glenn Roeder than KK. But results and the class and dignity that he seems to hold himself in will win fans over quickly. Garde will not only work great in a system that he is used to but also has a keen eye for spotting talent in our prime market, to work with Carr. His experience with youth teams and more importantly vision of using the youth is also surely an immediate flag for approval. He is available, said to actually want the job and will likely be affordable, more so than any of De Boer, Tuchel or Galtier.
  21. Reaction to Carver telling him he better knuckle down because things will be different with Carver in charge full time.
