Well Ashley's number once choice is a bit far fetched seeing as he has apparently washed his hands of it and let charnley and Carr decide. Also if this was the case I'd imagine that would have been known before they put Carver in two game temporary charge. While they could be using this time to consider all options they must be looking for an appointment straight away or why not just say Carver is caretaker, not caretaker for the next two games. Putting that aside for a second if it was true it would be a disaster, unless de boer signed upfront. Still I honestly think we could go down with Carver in charge. He is useless. Idea also smacks of starve it off until the summer with no intention of getting De Boer or De Boer getting numerous better offers.Would bloodly love De Boer though. We need someone now. It's the perfect time to really assess the club and its players and try a few things. As someone already said, I would be happy to wait until the summer for de boer, providing he signs now and on the condition we get an interim until seasons end that isn't Carver.

Tough one.. wait til the end of the season to appoint a manager but be rid of ashley, but also risk relegation under carver and gamble the new owner isn't a Vincent tan.

Don't think we will end up with Garde, fact it has been put out there makes me think we aren't that interested. That said, could just be because fuck all has happened from our end on anything. Tuchel , Galtier, Clement ,Garde in that order for me. Really impressed with the articles i have read on clement. All of those names would be fantastic. Garde just seems the least exciting. Beggars can't be choosers though.

Be very happy to have hoddle in for the rest of the season as mentioned in a couple of the rags. Then one of Tuchel, Galtier or de boer in the summer. Definately pleased with garde, Galtier or Tuchel though. The latter seems the best.

We simply can't wait until season end if you ask me, not with Carver at least. I'd be happy to wait for De Boer in the summer if we got someone half decent to cover in the mean time.. who the hell would for the money we would be willing to give them. Probably Ketsbaia tbh, but we would more likely bring back JFK or hire George Burley. Think Mainz would absolutely deal with us for Tuchel as we are from outside of Germany, just don't think he is that keen from reports that have already come out. Which reports? I wasn't aware that he doesn't fancy it much. Has he had a more attractive offer from another club? More that he isn't willing to come back early and wants to wait to the summer. Definitely an interesting link. Big gamble but has great pedigree to get him set up for a top job. Can see this type of appointment being legit. Ashley won't want anyone established that he a) has to pay more or b) might have any sway with the media or using their experience to speak up in the boardroom.

Hardly a surprise. He is the manager that had given him a break in the game and probably worked close with him.The fact Pardew was a charlatan and played him due to injuries and public pressure has no baring. Always going to be grateful for being given those chances.

Wow local press are as clueless as we are if they are resorting to buttering up Carver in case he does get the job. Honestly when we appointment Pardew he didn't deserve it and Carver is a shorter version of Carver. He won't last long if the worst happens and he is appointed. Although maybe the apathy will have really set in by then.
