  1. To be fair, we'd play more attacking football under McClaren that's for sure. Certainly not my first choice, but he did well in Holland, not so good Germany, but doing well at Derby. Defo worst choices out there. If he brings Will Hughes I could contemplate it. Wasn't overly impressed with them, watched them vs Norwich last week. Not fluid, very lax and poor at closing down. Zero urgency. Reminded me of an even shitter version of us under pardew tbh. Hard to believe. Was told it was an off game for them though.
  2. Limited snippet about Galtier at St.Etienne and his playing style here, from when we were linked last season. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/05/09/why-christophe-galtier-would-be-perfect-for-newcastle-united/
  3. Press will be peddling out us wanting Rijkaard next. Klopp, Rijkaard, Benitez or De Boer otherwise us needy Geordies will riot and scream injustice.
  4. Great news, maybe get some minutes against Leicester. Love to see him fit again and he and janmaat either side of the defence.
  5. Tactics are a bit one dimensional
  6. What a name. Related to Garry? http://photo.ina.fr/volumeLR/ina_volume20101011/51005213_26797112/m_181127908_0.jpg
  7. Jol, you can f*** right off. No doubt. Be surprised if he doesn't make another play at the job though.
  8. He hates the league more than he hated being in newcastle and working with Pardew. Not a chance he is coming back.
  9. Genuinely excited we are going for someone like Galtier. Will end up with Lawrie Sanchez or worse won't we. think we will suss the situation out this week.. likely not find anyone available we want long term and appoint someone hugely uninspiring as interim til seasons end. Few foreign head coaches that would be happy fitting in our system and available without compo. Vitor pereira Luciano Spalletti Thomas Tuchel or maybe Martin jol finally gets his chance til years end then de Boer takes over..yeah right.

    John Carver

Cracker of a player and a quiet likeable person a little from the outside.. which holds him in good stead with fans bit is he a good coach or bad one, what does he actually do.. I don't know.

    John Carver

local boy that loves the club, idolized bobby no doubt but also worked as the bad cop to bobbies arm round the shoulder approach. Expect it worked just fine. Problem is he is a detestable piece of work.. from people I knew that came across him he was arrogant and abrasive even back then. Grown in ego ever since.

Well looks almost certain the new manager is not coming from within the club given the two game announcement of carver and stone. Would be surprised if the new manager kept them both.
  13. Got to think he is in with a chance of returning. Looks like we are getting a brand new manager. Unlikely the new manager won't be giving everyone a clean slate. Nothing to lose by at least giving him til the end of January. Could Always ship him out after that.
  14. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30633107 Steve carver out alan carver in.
  15. He can take willo and dummett.
  16. Yep, absolute chancer. With woodman apparently going Carver is the last offensive reminder of Pardew. Stone is completely inoffensive, maybe because I loved him as a player like Pedro. Obviously Ashley also remains but that's a long standing issue.
  17. Heartfelt thanks to those involved. They certainly helped in removing the charlatan and opened a lot of people's eyes.. I hope there is an official handing over ceremony like with the Olympics to some palace fans.
  18. Just want rid of Carver Asap.. Can't stand him.
  19. Good news is Pulis looks to be going to West Brom.. In other news Hughton is also odds on for the job at Brighton. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/549345/EXCLUSIVE-Tony-Pulis-West-Brom-Alan-Irvine
  20. Be reasonably ok with Beardo in charge short term. Tough like shearer and cool, an absolute icon of mine playing wise. Scared he would ruin it being a shit coach.
  21. I fear for colo. I bloody love him, but think him taking over would absolutely tarnish his playing achievements for us. He could change a lot, we don't know. But he has certainly always been a big backer of Pardew and his methods. With the same coaching staff I don't see a lot changing other than our current love for Colo turning nasty.
  22. Think I'd laugh hysterically for about an hour before climbing a clock tower with an M16. Situation would at least be untenable here if that happened.
