Elliot Williamson Taylor Perch Tavernier Abeid Santon Bigirimana Amalfitano BA Shola Who do we have on our books that plays upfront ...other than "The Danger" Nile Ranger, who I doubt will even be on the trip. Can't see many players playing more than 45mins for the first pre-season game. Probably two different hybrid teams of 1st teamers/reserves and upper youth. Ba and Shola leading the line in either half

Colo, Tiote, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Krul are not back yet. Danke! Slackers. Guess we will see a 4-5-1 with Shola and Ba playing either half then!
-
on Sky or BBC? :0 Are the majority of players back training now bar Cab and Hatem?
-
Cabaye set up the fake account tbh.
-
Right-oh to supply the crosses for Ba no doubt.

I think Good is our 19-23 CB signing. We will sign someone older ie Douglas for sure imo. If Colo or Saylor get laid out again we are lumbered with Williamson who does his best for sure but if he is then injured I wouldnt want to extend trust in an unexperienced CB especially if he is new to the league. We need a fourth experienced CB to go into the starting 11 and fight with Saylor. First four: Colo, Douglas, Saylor, Williamson Backup: Perch, Good, Tavernier, Streete (wouldnt be too far out of his depth by all accounts) Sakho sounds like a perfect signing.. but I'd expect we are hesitant not only because he will demand first team football (as i am sure Douglas would too) but we are very particular with the characters we are signing and maybe haven't done the research we have with other targets. Hoping we get Anita which would give us another solid option for LB and CM. Hard to tell exactly what we are looking for. The club as usual are playing their cards close to their chest and killing expectations by saying a couple of signings, yet it sees clear we are in the very least looking at a CB, RB, Winger and Striker. Then there have been mentions of strengthening central midfield and leftback. I like how we are building the developmental squad but we are sorely lacking a up and coming young striker. We have Sameobi and Moyo but they are more wingers-cum strikers at best. Be shocked if we dont end up buying two strikers this summer.

Not too sure about workers rights and union laws but I'm pretty sure flogging players isn't allowed.

I`d think so but the chronicle had also earlier said we were looking at bringing both in due to Clynes versatility. Don`t see the issue if we offload Simpson who were are willing to keep around. Clyne would likely be on the same wage.
-
Think its safe to say we are looking at bringing another winger in given the amount of links to Hoilett, Belhanda, Chung-Yong Lee, Elia, Hamouma, Cabral, Kalou and Knockaert over the past couple of months.
-
Debuchy coming back from holidays now right? Hopeful we will see this one pushed through this week. Think we will know one way or the other anyway. Interesting there has been no movement from Clyne yet. Would be surprised but not shocked if we still fancied getting him either way seeing as he can play at LB. If we were interested in keeping Simpson with Debuchy here I think we could accomodate Clyne.

God, can't they move it forward a few weeks.. they have the whole off season.. tisk.

Lots of good press about the lad, which is promising but this is the Australian league not the premier league, if we are interested he should be standing out. I also noticed all the people writing glowing reports and comparing him to Jaap Stam are randoms from Australia. That said they have watched him more than anyone else, albeit in an environment he should stick out and look good in, we have also seen him up close for ten days in training which is more than we can get with most other signings. If we are getting him there is obviously talent there.

Hes set up for life earning just 5k a week for 5 years, that must be somewhere around 1.1mill - 1.4mill hes earning just from that contract, and hes earnt that just at the age of 24. Your basing that on a rational human being engaging their brain and saving money.

Depends where we rate Anita and if we sign him. I thought we could do with another LB in addition to another RB. Beyond Santon I am not hugely happy with Raylor playing LB although he plays his heart out. We haven't seen enough of Ferguson at LB but if the back end of last season is anything to go by that experiment might be over. Anita, Santon, Raylor would be decent enough cover on the left, potentially adding Fergie to that. Debuchy, Santon, Tavernier, Raylor for the right would be fine too! However Id be ecstatic with Debuchy and Santon either side. I think Davide has really grown into the role and was certainly filling Enrique's shoes.

Ah well, upside is how much we were willing to spend on him. Must be some canny other targets out there for that price or cheaper.
-
Chuffed with this. Heard a lot of good things about him and it pushes Simpson closer to the exit door.
-
That time of year again eh.. if Pardew didnt like him last year I can't see any chance things will have changed after another poor season on loan. The upside for Xisco's chances are we have naff all coming through the youth system in his position and he might get another pre-season game until we sign somebody.

I guess so, with the Olympics seen as a big farce it is no surprise clubs don't want to risk their players. It is a tough one, the club is entitled to a say, they pay their wages and the clubs fate can revolve around their fitness. Can't blame them from being protective any kind of national games are as much of a liability as they are a bonus in driving players market prices up.

There is certainly a lot more money being invested into football than there used to be. It is the same in the states, ashamedly not so much in Canada, although the sport is hugely popular. There is likely to be a speight of talent coming though in the future imo. Good's chances might be hit or miss but we will have done our homework on him and have seen him up close so I doubt it is a huge gamble.

Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis

Sweeping up? What? Just because he's black? f*** me man he's come to play football not be used as a slave. are you speaking as an oppressed victim or guilty abuser? -
Really don't understand why the likes of Carroll, Jones and Chamberlain couldn't play.. should be down to the player and their club. They hardly extended themselves at the Euro's.

Interesting to see how his play contrasts with Abeid, who we were grooming as a DM. Could be wrong but seems like the two compliment each other with Mehdi more of a playmaker and Bigirimana sweeping up? -
