Was considering driving from Saskatoon. Consideration didnt get very far though. Dont fancy the drive alone and it would certainly wouldnt be cheap. Probably cheaper to fly home and watch a match at SJP.

Liverpool v NUFC Pre-match thread (01/05/2010 - 12 KO)
toontownman replied to Beren's topic in Football
He will play, maybe from the bench to be safe though. Not really looking forward to this game tbh. Would like to see our fans neither boo or applaud Carroll after Dogleash's comments. -
Why is there even still a thread for this cretin?
-
If he is going anywhere I would certainly rather we sold to the hermans than a premiership side.
-
Nee chance we will be in for him now. Shame for the lad but there are a ton of better options out there for us. Will be interesting to see what he does, could see him going somewhere like Fulham. Wouldnt rule out another loan move next year which might interest us more, although I am sure Villa want rid.
-
Well I assume he tries in his own way. I believe he loves the club and is passionate but I can't list the times he has expressed it by busting a gut and tirelessly working. He spends 90% of his time on the pitch ambling around dragging his feet and smiling like a cheshire cat when we are losing. Maybe that's just his style, but if he was just as shit but actually looked like he cared and ran around a bit more I think there would be a lot less people on his back. He gives the impression if he applied himself more in every game he could actually be a half decent player.

Krul has been legendary today! We have nothing coming forward beyond our strikers, CM is woeful coming forward. Enrique and Shola need shafting in the dressing room. Guti looks good again. We have no fluidity coming forward today, always at least double the amount of orange shirts to black and white. 3 points for the taking here today, at this rate can see us giving them away.

Genuinely excited about this summer. Think we will bring in 3/4 top class players and a couple of squad fillers. Hopefully our reward for the past few years. I am happier with the state of our squad than I have been in ten years. If we get the right 3/4 players to add to that then beef the rest up we can move on much quicker than I was expecting. We also have to get Barton and Enrique signed up although both are replaceable, its a hassle and knee jerk time that could be avoided.

Another great win for Clarkie... Fingers crossed Brighton twat Southampton tmrw to help them out. Don't have much against Southampton, like to see them go up in the play offs but would like to see Huddersfield get the second spot.

Where in the hell did this come from and why? http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/richard-keys-and-andy-gray/blog/2011-04-14/graham-if-newcastle-ever-get-it-right-itll-be-fantastic-club Random.

Didn't see this discussion. Think he would be a cracking squad signing if we offload Xisco and Lovenkrands. I assume and hope Ranger will be farmed out. Downside is he might like that whole squad thing and be motivated less than Viduka but with half the amount of talent.

Really we need 7/8 players coming in. I know Pardew has been quoted saying we will bring in 4/5 which is probably more realistic. I remember Fat Sam saying similar with 3/4 before we brought in 9 players. We will have tell sell one or two because they are of such limited use to anyone, most of all us. I think we will spunk a load on a big striker and someone that can play on the wing and upfront. Id be happy if we try and snap up Elmander, Larson and Taiwo all would be great additions to the squad for little outlay. I would like to see us buy another DM to cover for Tiote too. Simpson has come on leaps and bounds, I dont know if Tavernier is good enough to sit as a replacement, Can't be worse than Raylor and Saylor could do a half decent job if Simpson is injured. I am alot less concerned with RB than I was last summer. LB is contentious because of the Enrique situation, regardless we need another LB, Ferguson doesn't look quite ready and looks better going forward. Harsh on Willow but another top CB would be decent if we unload Campbell. But a luxury if we cant get the players higher up the pitch. We need two more strikers and Lovenkrands should be on his bike and Ranger out on loan. I would prefer a pacey winger on the Right to Larsson, but the price is right, the second striker we buy should be versatile hopefully too. LW I think we will look at also, I think our coaches like Gutierrez, I just think they dont know why. He is frustrating and can turn it on he just doesnt seem to ooze the confidence in the skills he does actually possess. Wouldnt be surprised to see another LW come in. Will be interesting to see what happens to Kazenga and if they will give him a chance or ship him back to Brighton permenantly. if its 4/5 players I would say: 1 out and out striker 10-15m 1 winger cum striker 7-10m 1 DM - 2-4m 1 LB - Free there are several options out there 1 RW -5-7m CB and LW if we get the opportunity

Might be close like. Fancy us to get something from West Brom and the Brummies though. Manure will have Rooney returning from suspension firing on all cylinders again, Blackpool is tough to grind anything out from although fingers crossed we should have some more bodies back. Carrol is guaranteed to score against us, although the game could be tasty if our players are actually up to it and Nolan doesn't just join in with Carrol's goal celebrations. We could quite easily come into the brummie game with three demoralising loses, then if we slip up at home we will likely be beaten at Chelsea and be completely spiritless for the final West Brom game. On the positive side, we have Tiote back, maybe Ireland coming in, then Nolan and Barfa to return to give us some boost. I think we will pick up some points without any problem. Be more worried if I was a Mackem. Be even more worried if I was a Mackem interested in football. Think we will end up 14th.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United (10/4/11) Pre-Match Thread
toontownman replied to a topic in Football
I know, only realised it wasn't on today this morning, was gutted. Me too, went fishing for some streams and got irate that nowhere had it on. -
If you could beat only one of these teams who would it be?

Sign him up for four more years. Then when everyone else signs sell him! I am happy with Nolan at the club, he contributes greatly off the field and has contributed as many goals as our entire central midfield over the past 5 years. I dont think he should be an automatic starter next year if we sign the right type of players this summer, I can't see him being too happy with that though.
-
Pardew would never bring him on board... too much competition for his cheating on your wife expo's. Utter legend though.
-
Should have arranged a tour over to Vancouver Glad we are cashing in on the MLS cash cow though. I would get on a plane to go watch but to be fair its cheaper to go home and watch a game at SJP.
-
He was class at the world cup, it was like he was switching allegiances depending on the game and who was doing well. He was celebrating with fans and everything.
-
I think there are better options out there, but do people think we will be going back in for N'Zog over the summer? I know it was a bit of a desperation bid in January but Pardew clearly rates him. Not convinced on the Zoltan Gera links. Think we will still be trying for Elmander and Larsson, maybe Taiwo aswell dependant on Enrique.

What! no specific time of arrival on the fourth included in the thread title?... fucking amatuers.
