  1. Shepherd tried to hire him twice. exactly.
  2. Thats some high class panic, its close to here at times. Bruce was always going to need at least a year before he made things how he wanted he was the same at wigan. As classic as it would be, Bruce has shown he can manage to turn things around from the verge of being sacked to saftey at Birmingham. Deserves everything he gets mind.
  3. player improves from the raw 18 year old he was when he was there shock horror It is a bloody shock horror seeing a young player improve here!
  4. You know hiring bruce is exactly the kind of thing ashley would think was a smart and popular decision.
  5. wouldnt mind taking Kevin-Prince Boateng off their hands.
  6. Granted Barton has been dissapointing at best, not even close to his City days but he has demonstrated some class vision and passes, he has shown he has the ability, just not the consistency. I still think Barton is miles better at picking out a pass. That said If I remove my head from my ass a little Guthrie has picked out a fair few decent crosses this year.
  7. Didn't Keegan say that was his best position when he signed? I would agree with that tbh. I think he'd have more time on the ball to do his stuff and he can definitely set up the play from there. Not sure he'll be able to stand up to a battering away from home though. I dont know that he is good enough defensively for that? Provided we have players around him with legs they can use effectively for 90+ minutes, then it could work. His vision and some of his long passing was promising last year, Barton is miles better though.
  8. Wait a minute, just realised we are playing at home today, HOWAY! Hope Best is working himself up on the bench!
  9. And our free flowing attacking football and blistering performances do merit to be above west brom?
  10. Going to say McLoven. Although I think it could be the making of Carroll if he manages to get another over the next couple of games. I think he will take the momentum more than Loven, who will naturally score given the chances.
  11. Alan Carr's dad is our new chief scout. As if we werent the butt of all jokes already. That said, seems like he is quite highly rated and the more the merrier. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1249131/Graham-Carr-father-comedian-Alan-announced-Newcastle-chief-scout.html?ITO=1490 Graham Carr, father of comedian Alan, to be announced as Newcastle chief scout By Sportsmail Reporter Graham Carr, the father of TV comedian Alan Carr, will be announced as the new chief scout at Newcastle United this week. Carr, 65, has been taken on by owner Mike Ashley to boost the club’s scouting network following the tarnished regime of previous director of football Dennis Wise. Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley New recruit: Mike Ashley (pictured) is to hireGraham Carr as his new chief scout It emerged at a tribunal which awarded ex-boss Kevin Keegan £2 million that Newcastle had signed an unknown Uruguayan as ‘a favour’ to two South American agents. Carr’s last role was as part of Sven Goran Eriksson’s scouting team at Notts County.
  12. Dont look back, just look forward! Bloody terrible appointment mind.
  13. God, makes me feel old, bitter and twisted about the youth of today!
  14. At least he could have been humiliated here in front of a big crowd. Bugger that, if all is to be believed he will probably be signed by Manure/Arsenal or Real over the summer. Just a quick stepping stone to the big boys, IF he shines.
  15. Just looked at this myself. ****ishness of the highest order. Thoughts go out to the Sibierski family http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&ref=search&gid=2245261772 better group to look at, his daughter even wrote on the wall.
  16. Everytime I see you post I think your called toontownWOMAN. Literally every time. Wishful thinking, but I'm afraid not, only on tuesdays.
  17. If worse comes to worst and Ashley is to stick with Hughton next year, we need a couple of quality experienced coaches around him and Calderwood. Like Roeder I cant see Hughton or Calderwood stepping down now they have the taste for it. The chance at (hopefully) managing in the premiership will be huge. If they bring someone in that has tactical awareness and an ability to motivate players it wouldnt be the worst thing. Pretty close but not the worst.
  18. So is he fit enough to start against Cardiff?
  19. Cry me a river! if we hadnt of signed them people would have bitched, if we had signed someone else people would have bitched. It will come down to bitching that we signed players on a monday rather than a tuesday next. We had a decent window, all of the signings look calculated and shrewd business, if not pack with big names and awe inspiring.
