Can't see them winning the appeal tbh, looks like they messed up and got punished for it. Wouldn't think there are grounds for appeal.

Ronaldo, Maybe I'm doing hughton a big disservice by assuming he will stick with nolan, smith and maybe barton ahead of anyone else.it didn't look like guthrie was getting a look in last year in the centre until injuries thrust him in. I'm sure he will get a few games, with our usual injury. I'm glad if we get him. I just think with his main reason for leaving being not getting enough games in central mid he would have better places to guarentee getting games.

In a way I'm suprised if we do get him. Surely his appearances will be limited here too. I'm pretty sure we will be getting another central midfielder, he won't get in ahead of barton, nolan, smith or guthrie as much as he/we might like him too. I am liking the way we are starting to form a youthfull squad full of potential, we just need the experience to keep us in the premiership whilst they are maturing.

James did immediately spring to mind, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! Can't see him warming the bench to let us blood the other two though. Pav's coming back tbh.

Can't see that happening now, maybe next year? A) he won't want to leave with him sitting as #1 and playing in the premier league B)he is a strong voice and senior figure at the club. C) we would have to sign someone else that's experienced that would probably cost more and not put up with the treatment harper has. D) we will want his experience at least for this year when we are scrapping for survival. Other than that, as mentioned I wouldn't be too bothered. We would need someone solid and experienced if the kids did fall apart.

Bolton forums stopped saying he has chosen them over us then? Decent potential signing. Can't believe he is better than what we have now, but certainly one for the future. De Guzman would have been better, fingers crossed we go for both.
  7. I'd like to see him starting ahead of Smith and Nolan, but that seems for the most part unlikely, Barton will also be above him in the pecking order. Then if reports are true and we get Gossling/Cleverley/De Guzman that will push him further back. Cleverley will only be coming under the condition of getting games, then both Gossling and De Guzman have left their clubs because they want more. It looks like we are going to have some better options in midfield, but we are still woefully short in the defensive midfielder role. We have Perch and Smith, neither are ideal, maybe Barton or Guthrie will be used as a deep lying playmaker type that Emre was earmarked for so long ago!
  8. Do people think he is going to get much of look in this season? He improved rapidly towards the back end of the season and started playing alot more consistently. Has alot of work still to do, but can he make it at the top level? At his age its starting to get make or break.
  9. Gone back in with a £2m big after our bigger bid was turned down i wonder. The old CM tactic. He says the club seem 'bullshit' about Cleverley and Gosling - and Erding is still in sights (depenedent on a striker leaving). You'd imagine that would be Xisco Tidied Thanks for that Take Cleverley out and replace with De Guzman and I would be well chuffed.
  10. To be fair I would be looking for a sharp escape route if Steve Mclaren just got made my boss.
  11. He would move to Newcastle. He's said as much on his Facebook. We'll let this one flutter by. Talented player borderline begging for a chance to play for us and we'll let it go. Would be a coup, provided he is over his injury problems. Wont ever happen!
  12. No, Toronto FC. I have a soft sport for Toronto seeing as they are the closest MLS team to me now! Not to mention the seeing Carver and Robert out there briefly. They are terrifically supported by MLS standards, closest thing to back home. However I will shamelessly be dropping them infavour of Vancouver next year! Going to try and drive three days to watch them! You monster. I guess nothing will change until they play each other, which will be next to never as they are in separate conferences! Must say I'm quite impressed with Mista signing though, quite a coup if he still has anything about him, should have a good couple of years left in him at 31 too. Still think the MLS will be up amoungst the better leagues in 10 years if the support for the game keeps growing in N.America.

  14. Cant see us getting de guzman, despite what the rags hint. remember being happy to being linked with his less talented brother julian, which never materialised. jonathon will have a ton of offers on the table if he really has overcome his injury problems. if thats not the case a switch back to canadian allegiance and a toronto move beckons.
  15. With seeing next to nothing of him playing and physical resemblences aside, I can say without any doubt we have our new Aaron Hughes.
  16. Wouldn't it make sense to pick a club in a league that runs over the summer, would make the off season much more fun. ie: MLS or the Norwegian League. I'd vouch for Vancouver Whitecaps, we would get to follow them from the start as the join the MLS for the first time next year. We also have the links with Sir Bobby and Pedro bother being involved managing and playing for them.
  17. Free to speak and sign with anyone. currently speaking to us, mackems and west ham. has family in east london so the press are fancying him to be going there.
  18. I think Loven will be fine off the bench with a few starts next year, like Ronaldo says, his overall play isnt really what you would demand. However, he can finish (although he misses a hat load too) and gets in the right places more than not, does have a decent amount of pace. Poor mans version of Newcastle physio favourite Michael Owen. Would be worried if he and Carroll were our best forward line next season tbh.
  19. This, had doubts of getting him last year in the championship, another year older and slower and in the premiership... nay chance!
  20. Quality signing on a bosman. Versatile too.
  21. its the sodding daily star! Bizarre linkage, cant see him coming here, doesnt fit the blue print the board has been banging on about either.
  22. See Albin Ebondo's contract is up, werent we supposed to be after him a year or so ago? Given the clubs blue print we should be looking at Sofiane Feghouli, out of reach more than likely and already talking to valencia. What kind of a season has Laryea Kingston had? Another one we were linked with in the past, tidy player last time I saw him play, was a season back though. would be a canny squad signing IMO. There is actually some great players out there out of contract this year.
  23. After all this Colo will be cut from the final squad anyway.
  24. Wouldnt mind most of these if we are scrounging the free market, granted a couple are unrealistic. Dont fancy any goalies Clerc Scharner Senderos Aurelio Bresciano Altintop Larson Govou Petrov Guerrero
