  1. Any chance of us showing up in the second half, nee chance of it happening in the first.
  2. Weird game. Weird season, nearly February and we still have never "clicked" on the pitch. Enrique out is a disaster, depends who we are bringing over the next 5 days though.
  3. Why do people apologise for Bellamy's behaviour? He is a well paid arsehole who doesn't know when or how to behave. Never has and never will. If you think feigning injury cos you're in the huff with the manager is acceptable then you need you head read. Souness was an arsehole, no doubt of it. Bellamy can't be excused on that basis though. Nb: Cant abide the little hunchbacked tosser for what he is and what he did.
  4. WOAH! They actually paid money for him?! Eeeew! That's just a disgusting move. Thankfully means we wont be getting him!
  5. definitely... but i could see it ending up a beckford type scenario again The upside... unlike Beckford, we might be willing to bid bigger given his age, potential and sell on value. The downside... we probably arent even aware of him and certainly wont spend the kind of money needed.
  6. Up the bid a little for Perch (who can cover the back and DM) then a striker.
  7. I would think Forest's current form has probably killed any potential deal in all honesty. True - hell, if they go up they might actually get the odd 30,000 crowd ! I really hope Forest do go up, always had a soft spot for them. Just only in second place to our first! Perch and a half decent Striker would round up fantastic transfer window antics for us.
  8. It depends what your definition of "s***" is in all honesty. No one is daft enough to think we've signed the next Ronaldo, but just how many decent right wingers are out there in England at the moment? Milner and Bentley are probably considered among the best and they weren't short of their critics either IIRC. Can see Ashley finally getting his man and Hughes taking over if we go up, then signing Bentley and Bellamy. Routledge will be decent if not pouting back up.
  9. some lazy buggers been reading the boards... http://www.newcastle.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=186057
  10. He is delusional if he thinks Moses will go anywhere other than a top flight team. Would certainly show Forest's ambition if they bid for him though. Would love him here, he is out of our league though.
  11. Former Coventry player? We were after him at one point. Good freekick on him IIRC. Was a good prospect we missed out on before, havent followed him at Celtic though. Doubt we would be interested with both Kadar and Williamson able to cover LB. Id expect we are letting Forest sweat a bit on Perch, leaving the offer on the table. Calderwood knows alot about him so I doubt it was just a fleeting interest. I think we thought we would do the same with Beckford, which was sound logic at the time, player wanted to come, Leeds dont want him leaving for nothing in the summer. I think we will up the anti for a striker this week then if the Perch transfer goes through its a bonus.
  12. When i get hard done by or unfairly treated i tend to get motivated to stick two fingers up and prove people wrong.
  13. Godsend going out especially like this. might actually make our players a little bit motivated for the coming weeks.
  14. We had and still have the promotion spots in our own hands. We wouldnt be thinking about sweating if we hadnt have had such a shite December. I tell you what though, Providing we finish first I would love Forest to finish second. I think they will drop back down though. Going to be a huge two months for us. We need to take the games by the scruff of the neck and take all the points. If we get through to February without more than a game or two wobble we will be looking strong.
  15. Apparently we've upped the bid to £3mil havent we? God no! That would be our entire summer transfer funds spent in one full blow.
  16. Kevin Phillips was around 25 when the mackems signed him wasnt he? 26 when he was first in the premiership. Completely different type of player but there are exceptions, some people have the mental physical attributes to step up to the premier league, depends alot on the players around him and the psyche of the team. Alot of the newley promoted teams lately have a united dressing room and coaches that get the players bleeding for the shirt, scrapping for everything and playing for each other. Newcastle has seemed to have been a club where players have just been dropped into the mixing bowl and expected to perform, where its easy to get lost and sit back and take the pay check. Things seem to be slowly turning around to how it should be, I dont know if its an environment ideal for Beckford though.
  17. Im going down to the ground to protest. Should have been done a long time ago. I hope this means we will sign a creative attacking midfielder, however unlikely that is.
  18. Would give my left nut to have both here.
  19. Roeder wouldnt be a bad bet and I would re-sign Alan Irvine to our coaching team in an instant. We wont have the amount of money available thats needed to get either though.
  20. i totally agree, upon the condition he no longer has players that are better than anyone else at anything. maybe the f.a. should employ one person to take every throw, goal kick, free kick and penalty, for starters at least.
  21. I actually think we will avoid any major disasters this January. We might not make any waves, but I think Kilgallon will come in, simpson will stay on and we might nab a couple of loan signings aswell. I am more worried about the summer, if we do go up. Thats when im expecting his annual disruptive sale nonsense, which will wreck another pre-season, probably see hughton still in charge and limited incomings and out goings then fighting relegation next season.

  23. Tomorrow the story will break that hes on £40k a week and has an option to extend the contract by 5 years. Tomorrow JFK will declare that he scouted and reccomended him last season.
