  1. Cant believe he is that old! always rated him. can see the staff sticking with butt instead, i can see the thinking but i wouldnt agree with it.

    A New Rob Lee

Was parker not the same box to box player at charlton that we are saying he could never be? between injuries, bewildering tactics, roles and completely shot confidence i dont think the scott parker we saw past souness was the same, like the majority of players that walk into this club, scott parker walked out a ruined player.
  3. Fully behind the club and set up. Just trying to avoid thinking about things until the season starts. its clear both us as supporters and the press know fuck all regarding our transfer targets, frustrating but its how business should be done. so im keeping my head down from apparent transfer links that will invariable dissapoint as they are more than not fabricated.
  4. Time will tell on this one. Maybe he will excel again at Benfica and rediscover the form that he found a few seasons back Maybe like Man City we managed to miss out on wasting alot of money on wages and a transfer fee for a player that is past his best, has lost motivation and wouldnt adapt to the league. or maybe we weren't in for him at all!
  5. To be fair we would be hard pressed to get a decent LB (which is essential) for under 3m. Do we know how much we actually paid for Guthrie?
  6. Its more a case no-one gives a toss about us, we are old news. Once everyones second club, now just another team to laugh at when something goes wrong, which invariably does. Whilst frustrating, I'm all for the apparent signing trend. Its not vital, but Im happy to see us signing the younger players and more importantly waiting for players that actually want to come play for our club and us as fans. The down side is we might end up with more Duff's and Smith's than Modric's or Kaka's.
  7. would probably prefer shorey, either would be good competition/cover for Enrique.
  8. (but slower) Surely not! (bastards!)
  9. De Jong would be a usefull addition at that price. Good age, Good experience and great versatility. Maybe an alternative to Inler.
  10. No replacement for Round (more bile from the papers) http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jul/16/newcastleunited.premierleague To be fair if Ashley was that concerned Terry Mac and the Tea Lady wouldnt still be here, or are they one and the same these days?

    Anton?

    Must be signing for Spurs.
  12. Carr never disliked one of our players as much as lee dixon. carr comes close, although i cannot remember many players worse in a toon shirt than alan smith. my anger has calmed given the break. no players ineptitude has made me strop like a child in the living room when watching a match as much. robert frustrated the tits off me in his last season but i wouldnt line him or anyone else up with the former two.
  13. ok. i will stop flapping like a girl. id would hope we have the option to sign him though.
  14. Cant honestly see the point in this loan deal, unless we have an option to buy. the main problem with enrique is his lack of experience. getting someone even younger, inexperienced and to an extent fragile seems mad. it would seem crazy even if it wasnt a loan. we need someone for enrique to learn from that we can depend on, not someone half the board will rip into if he has a bad game, whilst the other half say, give him time he will be better next year.
  15. Good news if true, will be a good experience for him.
  16. Pushing more through the internet and the official site is the way forward. They can really do alot more with it, that said if they actually bother to film some more stuff to go in new sections they have put on the official site it wouldnt be so bad. Internet and tv will probably be combined before we have enough content to put on a 12 hour tv channel let alone 24.
  17. Break top ten for me, (providing Ashley will get his wallet out for a decent player or two this summer) anything else would be a huge failure. We have a talented squad of players, should we add a handful of immediate first teamers and get the best out of what we have we should be looking to push us high up the top half of the table as possible. That said, depending on what our rivals do in the market I wont be throwing a tantrum if we end up behind, the big four, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Mancity etc...
  18. I dont see villa as a step up. granted i am a touch biased. Spurs bound 100% me thinks.
  19. Great signing for manure, he is the missing link since rvn left. dont think it will harm spuds in the slightest either, they can certainly use the money on a decent replacement or two.
  20. Certainly fits into the warts and all categorie Keegan hinted we would probably be forced to go for. However, the Mail trash is completely irrelevant considering the fact he is all but a Benfica player and has been the last couple of days.
  21. He should do, depends how much he is taking part in the reserve games either side of the Hartlepool match. Wouldnt really be expecting us to go with a strong side from the start, probably a different mix of experienced and unexperienced either half.
  22. They need to be careful, id love to see legal action taken. Could you imagine the uproar if it was an Englishman coming out with some of the quote those tossers have? I'm suprised they havent called for the EPL to be cut adrift and abolished.
  23. Not too concerned for most part of who it is we actually sign, I have faith in KK and the scouting team to pick the right players for us. More concerned we get the amount of players we need in the right areas of the pitch, I still think we are short of any real creative genius in CM (although maybe time will tell with Guthrie/Guiterrez). We also need defensive reinforcements back up LB, CB and maybe a RB. Should Ameobi leave, another Striker too. IMO, we need a could 4/5 players more.
  24. Funny how he bigged up Arsenals interest last time and nearly ended up at fulham. I would be shocked if either Arsenal or Spurs come in for him tbh. That said his attitude isnt far off Gallas so maybe he will be on Wengers list after all.
