Excellent start! Was almost demanding that we nicked the result by the end. Add in Owen, Viduka and a few more faces and we can do well this year. Butt is always a liability when playing United, he is the new Gary Speed though. Given 9 - To think some people (myself) wouldnt have shed huge tears had we sold him for alot of money this summer. Right back to his best and hopefully over his injury problems. Beye 6 - Did well, will get back to his best with fitness, looking forward to him solidifying our backline Taylor 8 - happy to give him an 8, did really well, unfortunate he was off the pitch for the equaliser, wasnt too rash for a change and dominated the back. Colocinni 8 (7 game) - For different reasons for Taylor who had the better overall game, Colo matured into the game and did very well for his debut, nervy and rash to start but was increasingly solid. Very happy and optimistic he will become a great signing for us. N'Zogbia 6 - Not a left back and should have done better for the equaliser, however did his best and looked it going forward, thought he also looked a bit lightweight taking players on. Milner 7 - hard working, did well, good tracking back. Butt 6 - Overally solid but some stupid mistakes that shouldnt be happening (which always do against manure) Guthrie 8 - Wow, solid in posession, nice passing on the whole did well against a very strong and experienced central midfield in Carrick and Scholes. Looking forward to seeing this lad develop. Duff 7 - Worked really hard and is almost passing the dropping hints stage to getting back to his best. Will be interesting to see if he can hold his place with Owen and Viduka returning and another potential midfielder and Striker coming through the doors. Gutierrez 8.5 - What a guy! A strong, powerfull pacier version of Milner, everywhere on the pitch and what a cracking temperament great to see! looks to be one hell of a buy, lets hope he just gets better. Delighted to see he stuck two fingers up at all the press that said he wouldnt perform away from home! Martins 7.5 - should have had two, played very well working hard throughout, sometimes still a little sloppy in posession but is coming through a hard time and confidence will breed from this goal and hopefully getting more from here. Keegan - 8 Went all out for it, lets be honest he wasnt going to go conservative. N'Zogbia was always a risk at LB but we had to go all in. Bloody Colocinni had to happen some time and showing he has the faith in him to play today will stick with the player. Lots of work to do behind the scenes to bring some more faces in but good times dont seem like such a dream.

Fabricio Coloccini signed from Deportivo La Coruña on 5 year deal

yep bassedas, cordone and veron were great! -
Like Coloccini, another player linked with us every summer, not expecting him to end up the same place as the former though.
-
Let no-one say anymore. Wouldnt be upset if we brought him in though.
-
Everton in pole position according to the press.
-
Can see smith staying if he goes. hopefully both can leave and be replaced.
-
Cueller should be a great signing for villa. should more than fill the mellberg void. i would have liked him alongside coloccini but maybe keegan is happy with what we have, if so fair enough. heres hoping he boumsongs it!
-
Think your right, at the end of the game they closed in on Duff, who gave Smith a big hug, looked like an acknowledgement that its the last time they will be on the pitch together in a newcastle shirt.
-
exciting comments! Three coming in this week (coloccini included) will set us up nicely. Then if a decent deal comes along after that we will take it. Sounds like we might end up with the numbers we crave. Hope we get the three he wants in this week.

He did his usual, go for a header lead with his arm. Except this time he basically just punched him in the back of the head, wasnt anywhere near the ball to head it. -

absolute set of bastards. I got wasted last night and its 8am here. Spazzing out over .co.uk not working for ten minutes and blaming my laptop before I find out I didnt need to get up til 10. Damnation. -
aye, signed for Manure in his early 20's I think. Barely got to play a finger full of game before he got shipped out on loan everywhere. Would be a strange choice, there must be a couple of hundred better options.

genius Of course i'm joking. Some are a bit lighter than others. Depends what part of the stage they are standing at. -
Im sure Joey can take him under his wing, it could be mutually beneficial. Joey can add violence to his thieving and vice versa. Its the new Bonnie and Clyde.

I'm pretty sure it wasnt Gomis. Could have been this Ranger gadje but he was built much broader, hair was longer and he looked a bit older. -
At least its an easy commute to London to see his kid. Good luck to him.

trouble t' mill, as if thats not bad enough he is only after Anton because he thinks he is Les. -
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1042736/Keegan-Ashley-row-Everton-Smith.html more fun and games. Of course there is no possibility Keegan would have said what he did about Smith as part of a gentlemens agreement with Everton. Why would he say anything different if the move wasnt cut and dried. Usual press crap.
-
Absolutely, agree with the sentiment, it was a bad move for him, whether it works at Everton who knows. I also think if KK is willing to let him move on we have a midfielder and Striker lined up to come in.

Read he is unsettled and wants to move back to the North West. Thought it was bullshit at the time, hopefully it is. Faye is next to the last player in our backline I'd like to see go. Would be a shocker if we let him leave. -
New sibierski, minus the skill and baldness.

Hope to see Faye, N'Zog and Coloccini in the squad. Any reason given for the former two's absence against PSV? I managed to completely missed it. Like to see. Given Beye Coloccini Cacapa Enrique Faye Milner Duff/N'Zog Guthrie/N'Zog Martins Guiterrez
