Cant see us being interested, we have enough on the wings, also doubt we would offer less than monaco if we were in for him.

Obafemi Martins - Newcastle Online EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!
toontownman replied to Stu's topic in Football
Sad news. hope the squad and fans rally around him upon his return. -
Bresciano has always impressed me when ive seen him. suprised he hasnt moved to the uk already. wont end up here though.
-
wont bassong actually cost us a couple of million if we actually want him, which is doubtful. he is still under contract at metz isnt he?
-
Wouldnt mind Malbranque here, he would be a usefull addition to the squad, certainly more creative than anything we have. Would be a good stop gap until we find a decent young playmaker willing to come here. Its more than likely bollocks to make the mackems think they outpipped us to a signing, making them feel better about themselves. Would be funny if we nabbed Malbranque and Chimbonda from under their noses though.

He has looked great there the majority of times he has played for the U21's. We shall see, its another option, wouldnt be a first choice, but we will see how injuries come about this year and if we can manage to snare a established creative midfielder before the window shuts.

Is infact Geremi according to the Shields Gazzette. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/Cacapa-is-important-for-Newcastle.4308548.jp Glad he didnt pack his bags back and leave as soon as the season ended, would have been well within his rights! I think he has good charachter and its quite right that we need the experience back there even if he isnt playing every game, training and passing on his knowledge is a big thing. Still has a part to play here imo.

There is none better to manage the team.

Man Utd and Liverpool reported to the Premier League

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7513117.stm BBC article, lol at spuds. Still think getting rid of Steed is mad. -
Thought he was just considering it, suprised carver didnt move heaven and earth to get him.
-
Dont like Keegan mentioning him in plans for the coming season! On the upside the Norwich take over should be done soon.
-
Can see his head being turned, if we did place a bid I'm sure we rate him high enough to hold our interest. Question is whether we will up or bid or keep the offer on the table and wait it out, a long way left in the window yet. Can see us holding firm and seeing whether Warnock makes any noises about wanting the move.

http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/07/18/Premier-League-Frings-agent-on-Newcastle/ Hasn't spoken to anyone at Newcastle, wouldn't have been interested in coming to us anyway. That or saving face, i'd go for the former though.
-
Loan him out another year, he will more than likely increase in value, if he doesnt I'd still wager the Dutch teams will offer a similar amount this time next year. No need to get rid.
-
Quick, Bobo Balde is available on a free, maybe half of us can imagine we paid 10m for him and people will calm down. Well that and the currently unconcerned logical people will be up in arms. There is a long way left to go in the transfer window, more than likely a huge amount of players that will over the coming weeks suddenly change from being un-available to interested in moving. Lots of time to make sure we get the right players that are right for the club at the stage its currently at. Just because they might be great players elsewhere doesnt guarentee a player would fit into what we have or what we want to create as a squad here. Keegan knows what he is looking for and more than not he will get it, im confident in that, even if it falls to the last day of the window.

Agent: 'Arda Turan will be playing in Italy this coming season'
toontownman replied to a topic in Football
I am considering whether we already have an option linked to Emre. Deals with both players seem to have stalled. doubt they'd be linked with arda at gala and emre supposedly going to fener Emre was a Galatasaray favourite and him going to Fener supposedly created a stir. Has he officially signed for Fener? Word is that Emre was offered to Gala as part of a Turan deal prior to Euro 2008 but that he couldn't agree terms and went to Fener, so any stir is directed against the player himself. Talk is cheap. -
Signed for benfica. his first choice all along.
-
well we always have robbie chicken dance elliot in reserve!
-
Cant believe he is that old! always rated him. can see the staff sticking with butt instead, i can see the thinking but i wouldnt agree with it.
-
Was parker not the same box to box player at charlton that we are saying he could never be? between injuries, bewildering tactics, roles and completely shot confidence i dont think the scott parker we saw past souness was the same, like the majority of players that walk into this club, scott parker walked out a ruined player.
-
Fully behind the club and set up. Just trying to avoid thinking about things until the season starts. its clear both us as supporters and the press know fuck all regarding our transfer targets, frustrating but its how business should be done. so im keeping my head down from apparent transfer links that will invariable dissapoint as they are more than not fabricated.
-
Time will tell on this one. Maybe he will excel again at Benfica and rediscover the form that he found a few seasons back Maybe like Man City we managed to miss out on wasting alot of money on wages and a transfer fee for a player that is past his best, has lost motivation and wouldnt adapt to the league. or maybe we weren't in for him at all!
-
To be fair we would be hard pressed to get a decent LB (which is essential) for under 3m. Do we know how much we actually paid for Guthrie?
-
Its more a case no-one gives a toss about us, we are old news. Once everyones second club, now just another team to laugh at when something goes wrong, which invariably does. Whilst frustrating, I'm all for the apparent signing trend. Its not vital, but Im happy to see us signing the younger players and more importantly waiting for players that actually want to come play for our club and us as fans. The down side is we might end up with more Duff's and Smith's than Modric's or Kaka's.
