  1. Thank god I only woke up for the last three hours. I think I would have stabbed myself by now if I had been following it all day. Hardly a suprise if no one comes in, just when you think Ashley can't be more stupid, he top's himself. (not like that I'm afraid) Craig matters little, there is but one we can trust and wait upon for info. Cometh the hour, cometh the man Dog.
  2. Aye, but then it wouldnt be "a Mystery".. wooo!
  3. Isnt he already in talks with Mcleish? Can't see him returning unless he has no other offers.
  4. All I could think of was Souness!
  5. I'd much rather keep him than bring some knacker like Kinnear in, but I still think a proper manager and a couple of additions would have us walking this league. Would you count Shearer in the bracket, out of interest?
  6. To be honest if we sold him and got Beckford and Vaughn in I wouldnt be bothered in the slightest. Load of tosh anyway.
  7. Looks like we should be getting a reinforcement or two both in midfield and upfront. Buggered if I know who we are adding in defence, surely we have to? Shittu on loan maybe? Would be a decent addition. Lovenkrands, loan striker, one/two loan midfielders, hopefully two defenders but that seems bloody unlikely. Think thats the very best we can hope for, dont see any permenant signings in the offing during this window.
  8. Business doesnt get done on a normal day to day basis round here, let alone sundays or bank holidays! so, probably happen tmrw or monday!
  9. Fuck me, I think I followed through when Ledley King showed up!
  10. Id be suprised (pleasantly) if that isnt the announcement tmrw, if there is one. Likely they will say "we are committed to Moat taking over, but we need stability, he has until Friday, if it doesnt work out Ashley will stay on and a manager will be appointed". I bloody hope not though!
  11. Well that's not exactly word for word tbf but yeah, it's like everything is perfectly fine. He even got in some cliché-tastic 'best fans in the world' bumlicking for good measure. To be fair he's not far off the mark with the fans comment. Thought the crowd on Wednesday was great considering the state of the club. People putting a brave face on and trying to group together in spite of Ashley. Nowt to do with the fact that people like watching football and even more so if we play well and are winning? No, you're right its a sub-conscious mass social phenomena of embattlement and defiance in the face of adversity. Of course. Chez Given in revelation that people go to a football ground to watch football. Earth shattering. They would even like to see the team they support win and play well too? I had taken it for granted that the people that "Support" a football team would turn up and probably do the above. You may have missed it. We have an owner called Mike Ashley who has upset a lot of people by making alot of stupid decisions, that have cost the club alot of money and its premiership status. During this time alot of fans ripped up season tickets, refused to renew, some people even protested, some during matches which affected players on and off the pitch. You might have missed that too. I might leave the NUSC out as you obviously have alot to catch up on. My opinion, which you might have also missed is that there are alot of fans, maybe the majority that are coming to games putting up with the present situation, holding on to the weekly hope the club will be sold and the mess will be sorted. I think there is a good chance you might see the attendence fall, season tickets ripped up and protests come the end of the window, if the sale isnt completed and players brought in. The fact remains we will always have supporters that will just continue to put a brave face on and try to group together in spite of Ashley. That might be pretty obvious though, unless you missed it.

People putting a brave face on and trying to group together in spite of Ashley. About an instant away from Boiling point at any moment if you ask me. There is only so much longer the fans will put up with this. If we continue to sell players, sign no one decent and Ashley is still in charge the club will completely implode after the transfer window shuts. Alots been made of the players and coaches doing so well despite everything going on, but thats with all the fans being patient. We have already seen the crumbling effect the fans revolting has on our gutless players. If something doesnt happen before the window, going down again is a huge possibility.
  13. Was mentioned somewhere that would happen after the end of the month. If it was true.
  14. The thing is, the transfer truly wont effect the club in their minds. The are thinking with the likes of Campbell, Lovenkrands, Misfud and Ball all on free's and we can always loan players out after the window shuts.. nothing to worry about, if the sale goes through then its not our problem, if it doesnt we will get the signings without breaking the bank, until the next transfer window when we can put the club up for sale again.
  15. This is fucking gash. Not because its a suprise that these players are leaving, just the timing. Why have we waited so long for this firesale? It was inevitable, but they have built up our hopes of players staying by holding the transfers off so long. We are in a world of trouble now. Colo will leave next. Colo and Kadar and Palace fills me with dread.
  16. Bit of a shocker, thought he would be a shoe in aswell. Hasnt he been in the uk long enough for citizenship anyway? Misfud would be a decent signing if/when Lovenkrands rejects our offer, you would think that would would be a given if has any input.
  17. Reading making a last bid for him according to Mirror and various other rags. We could do with a right winger. Not the quickest but chips in with goals. If we get Lovenkrands back and Keep Jonas and its pace we want we could switch Jonas to the right and Loven on the left, then stick Tommy up front. Probably a moot point as we dont seem to actually be in the running for him! Edit- on his way to Pompey now according to SSN
  18. Like choosing to be drowned or electricuted or drowned. Smith might have the legs but on the other hand Ive actually seen Butt create something and score.
  19. Dear god its just dawned on me that Nicky Butt is back too tears before bedtime... you know he will start if fully fit. Smith or Butt, i really dont know which is worse. we will probably drop Nolan and play them both in the centre!
  20. More like the Smith we have seen at Newcastle since he arrived. Shame he was immense at West Brom. We cant really blame it on fitness or confidence either, like both Butt and Nolan any rare positives are overshadowed by the fact he just he loses posession far too often, contributes far too little, gives away stupid free kicks and shows little evidence of having a functioning brain let alone a footballing one. Would be happy to see him go, provided we keep Barton and Guthrie around.
  21. Really depends on whats happening with our midfield and who is playing. Not to mention our tactics, if we are going to rely on punting the ball up front again, the midfielders wont matter, having someone that can win the ball in the air will. We dont really have the players to do much different up front tbh. Ideally with a decent couple of wingers and someone creative in the centre I'd agree about having someone different, we need someone capable of actually running at opposition defences. We really dont have that at the minute though, so little choice but playing him.
  22. Dont know anything about Kilgallon and likewise Williamson at Watford. We will need at least two more CB's even if both Taylor and Colo stay. Campbell for the experience factor than another solid player would give us a decent balance, both Kilgallon and Williamson sound solid in the championship which is what we need, whether they make the step up to the premier league, should we go up is a matter for then. I dont believe Kadar will be used too much at CB, back up for Enrique looks more likely, although Shearer may see it different if he comes in. I know he has said we only have two full backs in Enrique and now Simpson, so maybe he either rates Kadar at CB or he isnt ready yet.
