Distin would be a good purchase. He has been a good leader at city, and would still be captain had he signed a new contract. All my city fans have always rated him. He used to be pretty error prone but he has grown out of that and turned into a great player. Unfortunately we have a habit of bringing the shit out in defenders. And he would be extra cover for LB, we should part exchange with Bramble, Stuart Pearce shouting at him might give him the rocket up his ass he needs.

Huth was only going to come if we signed Viduka, we could only sign Viduka if we sold Milner, But Viduka only wanted to come if Milner stayed. So Huth went to the Smogs. :winking:

Whilst i would be far from unhappy if we somehow managed to get Upson, Neill and Baines, we can do alot better, bar baines. Obviously we should be trying to entice Wayne Bridge here before Baines, but i would be more than happy with Baines. I dont think Upson will bring us the Leadership and organisation we are crying out for, he worked well alongside Kenny Cunningham, but the Irishman was the leader. We need a leader of men not another follower to sit with Taylor, Ramage and Bramble. Neill is only marginally better than Carr IMO, and whilst just having him here for competition would push Carr to his best I think we can do better. Cant see us needing SWP's unless we flog milner, but I wouldnt want us to do that either. Milner however could be utilised through the centre as our attacking midfielder, he is good at running at defenders and played well there for the U21's.

Ineed.

In fairness as reserve coach he should be less resonsible than our other coaches.. oh coach.. oh terry mcdermott  No one here has a clue how good Lee Clark is at a coach so why bash him? New coaches have to start somewhere. Its more worrying the lack of experience and talent that is around him. Clark is the least of our problems. Yeah i know mate, i was being pedantic, fact is Duff played possibly the best form in his life under possibly (well certainly IMO) worse coaches than we have now.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=united-set-to-offload-bramble%26method=full%26objectid=17973721%26siteid=50081-name_page.html 500k sounds about right. I take it your talking about the mickey mouse club that made him with their coaches Souness, Saunders and Mullary..etc..

Yeah .com was harping on about it last week. Not a particularly inspiring appointment if true but we shall see, there has already been plenty of counter speculation such as Chris Waddle and Phil Brown.
-
Probably a good thing, we dont want them on a high for weds. Its going to be a very tough game. What a shame for Carver as well 5-1 now.
-
Thought he was a mile from the player that played in the world cup, but still very strong and at the heart of everything through the centre. Would have him here in a heart beat. He was as sloppy as we were at times with his passing though.
-
Ive been pretty dissapointed with duff so far, but he needs bedding in time, He gets around and looks lively but just hasnt done it for me so far. If people are bashing Emre, i dont think Duff has offered much more... YET. He is SOOO far from being past it though. AS is Emre i might add. Id rather Duff there than Ramage, Peter just isnt comfortable there and doesnt offer anything coming forward. What we will lose defensively will be more than made up for at the attacking end of the pitch IMO. That is IF he sticks wide and puts some crosses in when he is forward.
-
Just aswell he has no nostalgic playing links with the club or we would be in trouble the way the club is as of late. Mike Hooper was gutted Pav said yes to the short term contract, thought he was a shoe in.
-
scored some screamers for us, but was underplayed, and played out of position when he did get a chance. Wasnt really given enough of a run in his favoured position for me, but never the less didnt settle and was a wasted talent.
-
When does shearer return from Oz? We have a worrying lack of experience, whilst Terry Mac has been about, he isnt really the kind of experience we need. I hope we are going to be taking on at least another couple of coaches.
-
We will be struggling to get out of the bottom four by then. Id call Trevor Brooking ahead of time. This is the worst signing on face value that i can ever remember, being a Newcastle fan. All my City mates are in stitches or out rejoicing. He is useless, he has played in every position across midfield and upfront and has been utter gash in each of them. The only good thing about him is that he is apparently excellent in training, but has never produced on the pitch. Like the rest of the country im in absolute shock, still over this one. At least with Barnes and Rush they both had done something, or been good players before they came here. One mancity fan actually told me he hated Sibierski more than Roy Keane, he was so shite. Im at a complete loss, he brings us nothing but a bigger wage bill, i hope he proves everyone wrong, but there is no basis to think that is possible.
-
Dont rate him past £4m at most. let alone milner and an extra £2m. Not ever going to happen, if it does i think Freddy will be lynched more than if we signed no-one at all!
-
Ive heard he can even score with it too.
-
Id be more than happy with Bridge/Neill both would improve either flank and Neill can cover CB aswell, looks unlikely though. Sounds suspiciously like Luque. Who should really also excel in Europe. Although he would bring alot more to the table in terms of strength, physical prescence and holding the ball up.
-
We dont have anyone very capable of holding up the ball and imposing himself physically though. We need someone that is big and strong that can dominant in the air and on the ground, whilst we do have Martins, Shola, Rossi, Duff, Dyer, Luque maybe even Emre or N'Zogbia that could do scratch jobs up front, none of them are great foil for any other. Whilst Viduka isnt great he would bring precisely what we need, although he is NOT coming, hopefully someone in that playing style will.
-
Viduka is staying at Boro, he doesnt even come into any equations, if people want to feel better, pretend it was just a smokescreen for the player we are going to sign. At least that will keep you going through the day, pick up the pieces tmrw..
-
Depends on the team we are playing surely, and whether we are home or away. Duff can play there well enough, Nobby is more creative and will stick a decent cross in, something Dyer cannot, but Dyer will open up the field and get in behind the defenders. Depending on the team we are playing it would be good to switch, the chances of Dyer being fit enough to be considered often are certainly more than questionable though.
-
on an up point Malbranque is out for 10 weeks, even though, spurs have still signed him. Seemed like a made replacement for Milner, but maybe Roeder actually believes Dyer will be able to play more than a couple of matches this season and sees him as the replacement, either way he is wired if he doesnt get some kind of replacement in.
-
I think its time to turn SSN off, turn the internet off and do something else. Gutted. Although we can do alot better than Viduka and Huth, just not happening.
-
NOT GETTING VIDUKA. Staying at Boro, Gibson confirms in press conference.
-
Cant believe this is happening, complete madness. So we arent even replacing Milner. If feel like they are doing there best to grind us down so we will be happy with anything just to make the madness be over.
