  1. some good choices here. Tough one. Distin Micah Richards Baines Nolan/Samaras Ashton Thats a self shockingly high amount of Man city players! blueeek.gif Distin is an absolute no brainer, i will be gutted if we dont get him this January, from resenting the hell out of him for leaving and not thinking that much of him he has come of age at Man City and for me is Exactly what we need. Leadership, Power, Pace and Aerial Dominance, for quite cheap aswell. Ive seen him the past three years against us and he has got better and better. Richards - Is the best young RB around at the moment, heaps of potential and adaptable. Who wouldnt take him on if given the chance. Baines - Likewise in the left back space although not quite to the level of Richards, more potential than Bridge and a classier version of Matty taylor, cracking shot. Nolan - Cracking all round midfielder, the more attacking version of Parker would be a fine addition and work well. But the question is whether we would need another Attacking Central midfielder? or.... Samaras - Another striker.. ANOTHER CITY PLAYER blueeek.gif .Got alot of time for him, since his debut against us he looks hungry, hes strong, holds up the ball well, great in the air and has a cracking shot on him. Wouldnt get him for cheap like most of the list, but as money is no object.... Ashton - Like Samaras the type of striker that we really need to add some class and physical presence upfront. Cahill and Diop are good shouts aswell but i think we could do with Two big strong strikers rather than another midfielder where we are reasonably covered.
  2. as Good as we have. But good enough No. Decent average squad player, so wouldnt mind him being part of the squad next year but he is heading home regardless. Wont be hard to replace.
  3. Crooks is a fool, always has been. Arteta was fantastic, but i have always rated him, higher than cahill too, although they are quite different players.
  4. Sorry i dont even think he is that good. Certainly not shedding tears over it. Hardly I nearly joined the Toon either. We were interested "Supposedly", even so, he would have picked either of the two scottish teams then liverpool before us if he hadnt gone to Manchester. If Pattison was playing week in and out at Manure im sure he would be just as good, he is one of the worst players at Manure.
  5. Moore is leaving and I think we can replace him with someone more experienced that will bring much moore to the squad. Bramble is pandoras box we need to sell him if we get a decent offer in January. He is only going to work if we have someone to boss him and keep him on his toes for 90mins. There are few players around that are good enough to do that and do their own job. Id expect both Solano and Sibbers to get contract extensions, both are at the back end of their careers and will be good squad players and reasonably reliable when called on, they are both good proffesionals for the younguns to look up to aswell. So Solano and Sibbers for me, although neither should be starting by next season.

    Fake NUFC gear

Its ok, even the real shirts the club presents important people with has the spelling wrong so I doubt anyone should care. Club set the trend in our Asia tour.
  7. Looks like the tailor made replacement for James Milner when he leaves. Know little about him to be honest. The rumours have been busy today though. Reports in Spain suggest that Valencia defender David Navarro is thinking twice over his proposed move to Newcastle United in January.. Newcastle United and Fulham have both been linked with moves for Leicester City defender Patrick Kisnorbo. Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Ajax left-back Urby Emanuelson, but clubcall understands they have little chance of landing him Ivory Coast international Steve Gohouri is aiming to clinch a move to Britain in the New Year. Reports claim Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic want to take the £1 million-rated defender to The Premiership. All appearing today in several places. Its only going to get worse until we reach February.

    january defence

Well if he isnt cheap, simple go elsewhere, I dont rate him that highly but some for some of the figures being bandied around it would have been a decent deal. As long as we get Distin I will be pleased. We should look to get someone much more experienced alongside him to help Taylor/Ramage/Hunty etc through.

    january defence

Bare minimum one RB, one LB, One CB. Ideally two RB's, two LB's, Two CB's Sell Carr, release Moore and Bramble at the end of the season if we have no offers for him in january. Distin and Upson would be reasonably reliable although Distin would be the only natural leader of the pack, god help us if he got injured. But those two would be decent and cost effective, risk-proof, replacements and improvements on Moore and Bramble. LB- Wayne Bridge, Matt Taylor, Leighton Baines would any of these actually come, get one if so. RB is a tricky one which would probably be better shopping abroad, there are the likes of Hibbert, Hunt, Neill maybe Volz here that would be adequete but we need someone better than that, both Taylor and Ramage are good enough to hold the fort until we bed someone in.
  10. There looking at Laryea Kingston apparently. We keep getting linked to Defensive Midfielders, why i dont know, apparently we still want Duscher. If we really have to buy a DM, Appiah is the only man. Would be brilliant for us. Much more attack minded than Parker. Id rather we were there watching Viduka to be honest, Butt, Emre and Parker is enough for me. We need players that can attack and score goals. I do realise the irony of mentioning Viduka close to that last sentance.
  11. We are more than likely to get two strikers, 1 on loan and try and buy one. Unless we extend Rossi's loan to the end of the season.
  12. Would much rather have Distin than Upson. I wouldnt complain at both though. Sack off Bramble and moore is leaving anyway. We desperatley need fullbacks though. I hope yet another window doesnt pass with us forgetting this.
  13. It shouldnt really matter who we get. The manager and coaches should be able to motivate them properly and organise the team as such they will play produce what we need. Look at Chris Sutton at Villa. Unfortunatley we have a whole squad of under achievers so I wouldnt recommend going for potential as much as the finished article that can motivate himself or play off the crowd. We need someone that has Physical Presence in abundance, someone that can pull central defenders apart, win next to everything in the air. Kevin Davies, Viduka, even Hartson are the calibre of players we need to be looking at. Nugent would be an excellent buy but he would be a luxury buy compared to what we need right now. We have plenty of options Physical presence aside, Martins, Dyer, Duff are all viable 2nd strikers. But nothing without someone to lay the ball on. I have no idea how much money the Fat man wants to splash out but it wouldnt suprise me if we spent up to £10m on someone. I wouldnt be suprised to see us try and bid for Bent and Ashton once again, Klose would have been fantastic, but we wouldnt have been able to snare him in the summer let alone in our current position. Dont be suprised to see Freddy Kanoute's name popping up again.
  14. we have looked alot better since Nigel Pearson has arrived. That said we still look paper thin at the back. Carr, Moore, Bramble and Babayaro do their utmost to fuck things up though. We would certainly have double the points if we could actually score goals though. Full backs have been a problem for years now, with all the focus being on the centre backs. If we had two decent full backs the CB's wouldnt be so stressed, pulled apart and out of position. Quite how they achieve this considering they add nothing to the attack for the most part im not sure. Two decent fullbacks would also support the midfield in turn helping our attacking play, over lapping feeding crosses for the attackers in the middle. We had one cross from a fullback today in Ramage. The two fullbacks attacking would also suit emre and parker who seem dead set on sitting deep for the majority of the game, leaving the two to sweep and back up whilst they are attacking. Two decent fullbacks would transform our team. But the bottom line is in the organisation and more importantly the motivation, smaller teams defend well with poorer players than we have, our players just arent being motivated properly.
  15. Buying stikers wouldnt be so bad, if we could actually score goals we would have a canny few more points on the board than we do at the moment.
  16. N'Zog and Parker would be good with dyer just infront, duff and Solano/milner either side.. He will definatley use butt and parker though, no doubt.
  17. We have never had a problem buying decent players here. We have a problem getting them to play aswell as they are capable of. Its a house special making so called good defenders look shit.
  18. Distin, Distin, Distin. The city fans are bricking it at the thought of him leaving, they would rather he left for nothing than leave halfway through the season. He keeps their defence together. He was a monster today and has been everytime i have seen him play over the past 3 years, he is big strong and better than our whole team combined in the air. Sure we could get alot better, but for the price and what he offers in experience i would take him in an instant and he is a leader. Something we sorely need. Something Upson certainly isnt. Id be ecstatic if we could get a decent LB/RB and Distin. Obviously we need a couple of decent strikers aswell though.
  19. Paper thin attack, paper thin defence. Midfield had a good second half, woefully un creative in the first though. Dont think Sibbers won one header today if we have a chance to get Distin i will carry him now, for the third year in a row he had our strikers in his pocket and was immense the full 90mins. Pray to God Carr is out indefinately complete waste of space. Why the hell did we play Ameobi who was not even close to being match fit. Joke. I would start with what we finished with, bar slotting taylor in at RB and putting Bramble back in the centre. We have absolutley NO physical presence in the team anywhere. Even the likes of Parker and Taylor we pushed around today. Harper - Real shame he will be dropped indefinatley now Given is back. 7 Carr - Not fit enough to lace Warren Bartons boots let alone wear a toon shirt and call himself a defender. unratable Taylor - Much more like the prospect we were looking at last season, good show from him if we had a RB and LB i would be tempted to put him with Ramage. 6 Moore - Sloppy gets done for pace alot needs replacing but is the lessar of our defensive evils. 5 Ramage - Gives his all, although nothing in attack bar one decent cross, along with Taylor the only defenders worthy to wear a toon shirt at the club. 6 Milner - takes players on well but cannot cross needed more support from RB and needs to stick wide. 5 Parker - Good battling and a good second half three way going on with Emre and Dyer but offers nothing coming forward. 6 Emre - Same as above but not quite as good, we cant have two people sitting back all the time. useless set pieces..AGAIN. 5 Duff - Not working for him yet, wasnt helped by the fact Ramage didnt support him and the rest of the midfield didnt want to attack. 4 Ameobi - Nice to give him one last match for this season, maybe he would have been motivated to score? Or maybe we could have started our fit strikers and not two identically useless players bringing nothing to our attack - 2 - DID NOTHING Sibbers - Effort good but not alot else, if Luque had his work rate we would be on to a winner, like wise if Sibbers had his skill maybe he would look like a striker. Sprang into life in the last few minutes 4.5 Subs: Dyer - Great to see him back , linked up so well but was a little too greedy when he could have played milner right in on goal, creates so much space and defenders are scared of his pace. feeling it by the end but lets pray he can stay fit. 7 N'Zog - was given more space than duff was, but i think the Irishman (had he still be on) would have used it better. Testing time for him. 5 Solano - much better game if there was a balance between his game and milners we would have a good right winger. 6 Roeder - Why Ameobi? Good subs and made at the right time, but the performance was all wrong again. PLease for the love of god just try luque, at worst he will give us the same as what Ameobi and Sibbers did today. 4 Nice Scarf wavings though.
  20. I doubt we would offload all of those players either, not immediatley anyways, the problem at the moment is motivating the players we have, as we have alot of talented players, they just arent gelling and performing.
  21. (yet another positive thread to cheer everyones spirits on the eve of another week at work) ...which players will leave us should we get relegated and who would stay? Players immediately out: Martins/Owen/Emre/Moore/Parker/N'Zogbia/Milner/Duff/Given/Luque/Babayaro/Carr/Dyer .. although the latter three might not find any buyers. £50m if we are lucky. Stayers: Solano, Bernard, Ramage, Taylor, Harper, Sibbers, Ameobi, Butt, Pattison, Obrien, Bramble (no Choice), We would probably end up with a team looking like this: Harper Ramage Taylor Bramble Bernard Solano Butt Pattison O'Brien Sibbers Ameobi Plus a shed load of cash and a new manager, more than likely Shearer. Here's for praying its all a bad dream though.
  22. Cant believe anyone is taking this remotely seriously. As if we would even consider a foreign coach. The shortlist reads Curbishley Anyone else we can get on the cheap thats british and will be controlled by the board.
  23. Its clear he doesnt like him, and after watching MOTD last night (why I wanted to watch the shambles again i dont know) Shearer really doesnt like him either. His name wasnt even mentioned, with Shearer saying "Rossi is the only choice for Striker with Ameobi, Martins, Owen and Sibierksi injured, there is no one else that can play upfront!" Its obvious he still doesnt understand the work ethic needed, but he was more than trying yesterday. I think there is still a language barrier breakdown though, he clearly still doesnt understand quite what is needed of him, which is shocking with how long he has been here and the fact Solano is mates with him.
  24. He could start winning, im fine with that. By the same token, Roeder must NOT ! He could start winning, i have no problem with that.
  25. Wouldnt be at all suprised to see Houllier in as DOF or Roeder moved upstairs and Houllier in as Manager. Either would please me. Roeder has no decent experience or guidance behind him. Id just like to see Roeder moved upstairs the sooner the better, doing something right for a change though seems impossible, and i expect Roeder to be treated as calously as SBR. Like our Knight, Roeder has nothing but love for the club, city and fans and he has all the qualities to be a great DOF in my eyes. He just doesnt have the motivation to make our players play as well as they can. Right now the quality we have at our club wouldnt be a problem if everyone played to there potential.
