  1. Newcastle (from): Harper, Krul, Taylor, Moore, Bramble, Carr, Bernard, Ramage, Parker, Solano, Milner, Emre, N'Zogbia, Duff, Pattison, Rossi, Sibierski, Luque, Carroll Harper Taylor Moore Bramble Ramage Milner Parker N'Zogbia Duff Rossi Luque Bench: Pav, Solano, Sibbers, Emre, Carr, Pattison Luque and Rossi up front has to be. Although it wouldnt suprise me to see Sibbers instead of one or the other.

    Tim Krul

If we had four defenders at the standard that our four goalkeepers are at we would be fantastic! Props to Genoe and Sadler, good to see at least some of our coaches are worth the money they earn. Whilst on the subject it appears Nigel Pearson might be doing the same, defence looked as solid as they have been all season at least. And Despite Bresslaw, Armstrong, Carty, Gay looking Coltrane, Gielgood and Guy T ' Emmerdale, Krull loses out to Kruhl tonight!
  3. Harper Taylor Moore Ramage Bernard Milner Emre Butt N'Zogbia Sibierski Luque Bench: Krul/Bramble/Huntingdon/OB/Pattison/Solano/Carroll/Troisi My only reservations are that Sibbers and Luque will play too similar jobs with neither being out and out strikers. I dont think he will risk Bernard either.
  4. To be fair do you really think Palermo wouldnt have realised we have no options other than to play Luque with EVERY other striker Injured or cup tied? Hardly brain science we were going to play him, although that said a few people wouldnt have been suprised if he didnt play luque. Its hardly giving away how we are playing, and even the way Luque is going to be asked to play. Teepee has it sussed anyway. If Luque plays superbly wins the match and scores a hatrick he will still be benched at the weekend.

    Kevin Davies

We can do alot better than all of those players. But id be far from upset if we managed to sign them. Id be happy with Nugent, although is he that much better than Chopra?? Davies wont particularly help our goalscoring problems, but he is certainly the type of player we need, I would rather have Viduka mind. Neill would be acceptable, and can gel well with Moore and even give a bit more cover at the back. Bridge goes without saying. Upson just isnt the leader we need, he is a good player though if he has his injury problems behind him, but we need a leader of men and someone that will organise the back, would improve our backline but wouldnt run it. 3 new defenders and 2 new strikers is certainly what we need come january though. With Luque as good as gone, Rossi going and more than likely Nicky Butt out the door, i think we will generate the funds to get what we need.

Would have love to tbh tbh :winking:
  8. Got to be reasonably happy with that draw, could have been alot worse, travelling away, especially London isnt a great stomping ground for us, but we should be happy and SHOULD advance. Then we will take Wycombe or Notts county in the following round

Well considering there will be a break after the Spurs game there will be 15minutes for all the other ties tonight, oh and last nights highlights, less we forget. Suck dick, Aye it does.
  10. The best thing that could happen is if he moved upstairs and someone new came in. The problem it would more than likely be Shearer. I think it would be a huge shame for Roeder to just effectively get pushed out of this club. What he did last season was fantastic, with Roeder his attitude, thinking and personality are all fantastic, he talks the talk, unfortunatley as a manager that needs to takes us where we want, he doesnt walk the walk. He wanted a director of football, and IMO he would be the ideal man to be the DOF, we just need a decent manager. He derserves better than what he is going to get, probably not too long from now either.

    Positives?

agreed. the only positive is we have some cracking players, we just need some coaches and a manager that can make them play well and together.

    Louis Saha

Funny, most people called him a crock and not good enough when we were linked with him not so long ago. Another one slips through the net.
  13. More like. "im sure last time i was here i used to do something with that round thing, but what? And why are they fighting over it?"

We also have one of the highest rated RB's in the country available, and he is in the best form of his life. Throw in Michah Richards and Samaras and he and bramble are all yours!
  16. Merge it with the other pearson threads. Assistant manager at Boro and West Brom. Completely un-inspiring appointment if true, but whatever works, or probably in this case doesnt.

Distin would be a good purchase. He has been a good leader at city, and would still be captain had he signed a new contract. All my city fans have always rated him. He used to be pretty error prone but he has grown out of that and turned into a great player. Unfortunately we have a habit of bringing the shit out in defenders. And he would be extra cover for LB, we should part exchange with Bramble, Stuart Pearce shouting at him might give him the rocket up his ass he needs.

Huth was only going to come if we signed Viduka, we could only sign Viduka if we sold Milner, But Viduka only wanted to come if Milner stayed. So Huth went to the Smogs. :winking:

Whilst i would be far from unhappy if we somehow managed to get Upson, Neill and Baines, we can do alot better, bar baines. Obviously we should be trying to entice Wayne Bridge here before Baines, but i would be more than happy with Baines. I dont think Upson will bring us the Leadership and organisation we are crying out for, he worked well alongside Kenny Cunningham, but the Irishman was the leader. We need a leader of men not another follower to sit with Taylor, Ramage and Bramble. Neill is only marginally better than Carr IMO, and whilst just having him here for competition would push Carr to his best I think we can do better. Cant see us needing SWP's unless we flog milner, but I wouldnt want us to do that either. Milner however could be utilised through the centre as our attacking midfielder, he is good at running at defenders and played well there for the U21's.
  20. In fairness as reserve coach he should be less resonsible than our other coaches.. oh coach.. oh terry mcdermott  No one here has a clue how good Lee Clark is at a coach so why bash him? New coaches have to start somewhere. Its more worrying the lack of experience and talent that is around him. Clark is the least of our problems. Yeah i know mate, i was being pedantic, fact is Duff played possibly the best form in his life under possibly (well certainly IMO) worse coaches than we have now.
  21. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=united-set-to-offload-bramble%26method=full%26objectid=17973721%26siteid=50081-name_page.html 500k sounds about right. I take it your talking about the mickey mouse club that made him with their coaches Souness, Saunders and Mullary..etc..
  22. Yeah .com was harping on about it last week. Not a particularly inspiring appointment if true but we shall see, there has already been plenty of counter speculation such as Chris Waddle and Phil Brown.
  23. Probably a good thing, we dont want them on a high for weds. Its going to be a very tough game. What a shame for Carver as well 5-1 now.
