Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
Kanj replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Just watched his post-match interview from the reserve match... Think its plain to see that he has no problem playing at the reserve level or coming on for a few minutes - hes used to that in Spain from playing at lower levels and not complaining. I recall an interview where he said the same, he just wants to play, and will do waht it takes to play. Liked what I saw from the highlights of the reserve match, he seems to be gianing more confidence and that was evident with the way he was moving the ball around with his feet, versus how hesitant he was when watching him play earlier in teh season. His goals were taken superbly, I hope he gets a chance to play for the first team soon. Cracking attitude from the interview, if you ask me. -

Feel for Xisco. He's got to be confused to no end. Surely he is better than Shola? I've seen Shola hoof so many chances this year that I could have bagged. -

He looks like a proper footballer.

Already there before you my friend.

How he retains possession so often when being challenged is beyond me. I haven't seen someone so good at close control and then BAM hes off running past someone. Best example is that he will get a pass, and a defender will come from behind or on the side, he will control it, quick feet and hes pushed the ball forward and hes away from his man. I thinnk I've noticed he loves going to the byline and cutting the ball back to pass across the face of the goal. Something which worked much better when Oba and Owen were up top.

I'd rejoice if we could get Viduka for rest of the season...

I could watch that 5-0 highlight everyday...can nearly bring you to tears how much we've changed

Somebody here posted in the Colo thread that he would get hurt and ruin his consecutive game streak, i hope that person never jinx's again. Hate seeing people say "you know player x will get hurt next match" But doesnt physioroom just update who took a knock and came off? For all we know, he could be fine now?

Even the Setanta commentators were saying something like "Look at Nolan, taking the lead of that huddle" during the team's prematch huddle, if remember correctly it was Nolan who was talking followed by Stevie Tayls and Harps. That alone had me proud to see him playing - Nolan just signed 2 days prior and was already taking up an assumed role as a vocal leader. That speaks volumes on the type of player he is.

Romario, out of retirement, thats what Wise was doing in Brazil.

Arestidou - Loan who?

Had Rooney done the same it would be called a daft, cheeky CF move.

Agree 100% For all his flaws, you can never question his heart. He has never looked like he didn't care. And for that, I will always respect him.

1st match, new team, 2 days after he signed. He hasn't had enough time to be able to read his teammates run. I like him there, another day and he would have sunk a chance.

He did that and I thought - hes pulling a Clarky with the SMB shirt.

Have to say, when we got the pen my first thought was that Nolan might take it. When they said (on radio) that Ameobi had the ball, I was ****ting it!!! All credit though, I dont think he's missed any he's taken (not many admittedly), has he? Don't think he has, I also expected Nolan to take it and despite him showing before he can take one I still expect Shola to f*** one up sooner or later and I don't mean it just being saved or slightly wide, I mean him slipping, chipping it up onto his hand and the oppositing winning a freekick. Hahahaha. Hilarious.

I went nuts when I thought we scored that winner, argh.

Few bounces our way and we could have won it. Nolan all around the box, love it. Overall, waste of a first half. Terrible. 2nd half had many talking points - Nolan, Duff, Ameobi, Carroll. All looked good. I'd like to see Lovenkrands get the start to be honest, he looked lively, can control the ball and with a bit of pace. MInd you, if Oba is back next match it will transform us completly. Had he been fit today, we would have won it. We were crying out for his unpredictability and the Scum back line would have been defending about 5 yards further back.

We were a more solid unit when Habib was back there. Wasn't Vidic pretty poor his first season? Evra too?
