  1. Evens out the luck they had versus us.
  2. We didn’t turn down Maddison really, did we?
  3. This version of Lascelles is incredible. He’s strong, fast, good in air and now playing class progressive balls up the pitch.
  4. Pretty amazing that we had a Dummett, Miley, Hall and Murphy starting as locals/boyhood toon fans and then Anderson was able to get on the pitch too. 5 of them.
  5. Pope Liv Schar Botman Burn Longie Tonali Anderson Murphy Isak Gordon ^ my hope
  6. Just remember that the brilliant and downt-to-earth bloke that he is, never kicks up a fuss, never complains. When asked who the best player at the club is he says Bruno and his reason is "because he makes me look better" or something like that. The guy deserves far more credit than he gets.
  7. Schar is our best ball playing CB we've ever had and I would counter argue that his long and short passing ability + his shooting/penalties add to that. Colo was a fantastic dribbler but don't recall him creating anything from his passing or carrying, there wasn't reverse passes like Botman or Schar, there wasn't aggressive diagonals etc. Colo the footballer, reader of game, etc clearly more easy on the eye but I don't really think he'd be able to handle some of today's footballers. JUST my opinion.
  8. Wish Holt would give some love to Amanda, Mehrdad and Jamie too. Seems far too convenient to just say Saudi when those 3 drove those key decisions early on.
  9. Fab Schar is the best ball playing CB we've ever had. To think Lejeune was supposed to be THE ball playing CB and then Schar came in and said hold my beer.
  10. I absolutely love this mad bloke. He rinsed them to pieces yesterday, gets his goal, does a classic # of different celebrations post goal then yells to away fans "IM FUCKING STAYING"

But our 2 CB's destroy both Spurs CB's with the ball by a far far far margin.
  12. Again, fair points. Of course they would do all that, but its the simple stuff he wasn't doing much of - he thrives in the 50/50s and being engaged and having to fight his way out and play a ball - that's the very reason why he's so press resistant and so highly rated. It's the duels that he generally wins and then what he does after. All of which has seen him sky rocket to the very top and become a key Brazil national player. You don't just get that type of praise and recognition beating teams that allow you the freedom of the pitch.
  13. Not losing a wink of sleep over a release clause, if someone is paying 100M+ for Bruno that means he's been playing brilliantly for us and that probably means we're at the top end of the table in CL or Europa form. Further, it's up to him to leave at that point.
  14. I think he's been good as well, but I'd argue in games where we needed him to absolutely destroy the opposition (esp lower sides) he hasn't really done that. Yesterday reminded me of him last season pre World Cup and the end of his first season with us when he was just cooking all over.
  15. Peak NO after 8-0 win to find the right time to suggest hatred for a song
  16. Amazing, amazing player. Keep it up lad. First name on the team sheet.
  17. Thought he was the best I’ve seen from him in ages. Was the player I saw in preseason. He’s gotta use his strength and brain to his advantage because he’s really damn good. He’s got quite a unique way he shifts the ball and creates space for himself.
  18. Only our own fans get super paranoid about a guy signing a great and expensive contract with a 9 figure release clause. CHILL MAN.
  19. Would genuinely just attempt at Tonali as the 6 and Bruno as the 8 next match. Bruno has the experience under Howe to know exactly where to be in the 8 role and Tonali could actually be told to simply play the 6 role as he acclimates to new surroundings.

Tbh there’s no way an expansion of that kind could be done anytime before 3 years anyway.
  21. nah because must win to me feels more like “we don’t win it’s toast for us” where as I’m simply stating a team of our ambition and goals needs to win these games.
  22. Everyone fast to jump to conclusions and then you come to find out he’s had one training session in a month. Wow.
  23. Its not a must win, but if we have any desire to compete in the top 4-7 places again this season we should be going to Sheffield and coming away with 3 points. Yes we did it a bit differently last season but you can only look at what’s in front of you. And we’re a better football team and have top aspirations.
