Love this thread. For me, a mad pressing team that pushes high up the pitch, creates overloads and traps when out of possession. In possession, quick and clever passing, control the game, impose the style, tons of movement and interchanges - attackers constantly making runs and finding space. System, I’m a 4-1-2-3 or 4-1-2-2-1 Goalie: Modern ball playing keeper who can command the bloody box Defense: 2 attack minded fullbacks with pace (Gosens, Spinazzola, Maehle types) and couple all around ball playing/game readers and a big commanding one (Ruben Dias, peak De Ligt) Midfield: 1 defensive midfielder (Ndidi, Kessie ) who’s able to cover and patrol the pitch, 2 extremely technical CMs (Barella, Pelligrini, Merino) who are able to control the game - pass, create and get a goal. Wingers: Wide forward/winger hybrid talisman who’s more of a goal scorer than winger (Ferran Torres, Chiesa) and one mercurial winger (Ben Arfa, Maxi) CF: Pacy, all action powerhouse (peak Demba Ba, Isak)

Im genuinely worried the luck we needed to sneak a few wins has eluded us to the point that we’re literally going to have to defy all odds and history to stay up. The oddest bit is nobody has had a war chest of over 100m possible to spend this January, adding to the oddness of our situation. I’ll say this, at some point we will rid ourselves of the past 15 year neglect and obviously most recent years of starved investment - it may simply take longer than we all hoped. I’ve never loved this club more than I do now, even in those good times pre MA. NUFC is truly a part of me. Stay up or go down, that love will not lessen - the resolve and desire to be better will only increase.

I’d play Longstaff over Hayden. Hayden was so fucking bad yesterday.
-
I’m still so mad about this. Literally one of the easiest things to avoid. Let your keeper make the save and make Pukki have to score. Don’t let your team down by getting sent off in a must win match at home.

In a sport of fine margins we’ve been fucked by every single margin this season and I’ve not once (and over here in America you can see literally every game or many years) seen us have this much randomly horrendous lack of bounce, foul, slip, mare etc from the opposition. I mean everything and I mean everything is going against us thus far.

I think the subs were right on the surface. I'm certain he couldn't have predicted Hayden to forget how to pass the ball or communicate with his teammates when he blundered about 3-5 counter attack chances.

Frank McParland is apparently advising our board on everything they are doing, likely the main main on most of the negotiating and sourcing too.
-
He needs to have the fitness to be the late runner into the box
-
ughh, there are a billion other pics they could have used
-
I assume he sees Fede and Lascelles as like for like in terms of what they offer to the team. Clark is likely only playing because he's a left footed CB.
-
Last season he was nicking the ball, breaking fast, getting up the pitch, then finishing chances. He's not getting into the box at all this season and he's not breaking fast up the pitch at all either.
-
Deep down, i'd rather the whole setup be in place yesterday, but I'll defer to them now.
-
Fede isn't bad on the ball, far better than Lascelles. Probably smarter with it than Clark too.

Neither Mbabu nor Toney would have developed or matured here. Our club is literally not capable of that nor would they ever had the playing time to become what they’ve become today. This argument is so tiresome and shit. The same for Adam Armstrong. Until we fix the entire system and nurture and develop the youngsters here and on loan and back, it’ll be the same perpetual cycle.

Just wish he’d shoot man. Lacazette had one sniff and he created his shot and fired it. Wilson dallies a bit too much on the ball last few matches. I love the bloke - think he’s brilliant, but he’s got to fucking shoot. Toney - didn’t linger on the ball he just hit it hard at goal and forced the keeper to make a play (darlow) who fumbled it in.
-
His fitness and confidence seem shot.
-
We need a fullback who can defend more than one who attacks. I’d happily stick him back there and let him do his thing. Slide tackle people into oblivion.
-
Jan 1 we need like 5 new starters and some bloody luck.

I think the great thing is Yasir’s love of sport and football in general. He’s going to love the atmosphere, the madness of our attacking play at times on Saturday (the ASM 3rd)…these are in it for ages man. Future is exciting.
