80m is an insult gents. I’m sorry to say. If you accept 80m for Isak you’ve been had.

If centre mids are going for 90m+ then surely you can assume someone like Isak could fetch more given the inflationary impact on football transfer fees, York.

I am. My last statement held true, he needs to show his talent and he has. Now go jog on. I’m chuffed for him and long may it continue.
  9. I think Villa now see how fucking brutal a PL/CL campagin can be and injuries/ squad depth makes or breaks you

    Joelinton

Willock is more press resistant than people give him credit for. Rarely loses the ball when tight.

    Joelinton

Think he's been great as a midfielder tbh. just think we're different side with Willock on that LCM spot.
  13. Isak's little shoulder that was offisde at Luton away.

    Joelinton

Yes, the form he was in before he had that nasty injury, thought he was destined for greatness and deserved an England call-up soon. We finished 7th last year, imagine just having him fit 50% more last season? FFS Yes, I was wondering if it was Maddison + Tonali!

    Joelinton

@Erikse putting it this way, I genuinely thought we’d see Bruno a right sided 8, Tonali as a 6. But the two actually legitimately covering for one another. Willock as the LCM and etc. I thought the evolution in attacking play was a ? But I assumed we’d just go for broke and we’d see Willock develop into this all action attacking mid we saw at the end of the 22/23. Joelinton would continue to add goals. Isak would be lights out and we were going to bank on AG being an all around improvement on the intensity of Miggy. Granted I want Maddison to play that wide right role and was annoyed we didn’t get him.

    Joelinton

Ya that’s why I thought we’d be placing AG at right wing and keeping the big and little Joe deadly combo. Adding Tonali was the upgrade on CM are. assumed we’d also go with that style in the CL and just press like maniacs and kill the games.

    Joelinton

Man goes and plays right wing for the first team for us and looks like he’s been playing there for ages. Unreal versatility. I’d actually play him right or left depending on which winger we need to nullify. And if the onus is on us to attack more I’d stick him where it allows Gordon to cook best. If Gordon is out then Barnes takes the natural left side.
  18. yeah, exactly. Repeating myself from last few posts but I think bringing Tonali into the functioning in form team and letting him play the base of the 3 is the way to go. He’ll be moving the ball up the pitch very quickly and his one touch passing will be very effective in build up and bailing out of tricky situations.
  19. yep, play him at the base with JW left and Bruno right. Joelinton on one flank. Think that actually gives Tonali the responsibility he needs to show his talent in the team. Bruno will always get the ball and demand it a ton, but Tonali as RCM is bypassed and his best bits of his abilities are not used.
  20. guessing that outside of the top 2-3 teams, away form is all over the place in this day and age of the PL?
  21. Big fan of the white socks look too. I know it’s not our traditional look but seems to work really well with the kit.

    Joe Willock

Happy that he now has about 2 weeks worth of training and rest to keep building the fitness and strength levels too. I was worried he was mentally cooked when he was playing earlier this season and more that we maybe lost our little Joe to too many injuries. Thankfully I was wrong. He looks sharp as he did before the injury and just flies over the pitch.
  23. His Trivela shots are more powerful than his regular right and left footers.
  24. @Froggy what is your 11 under the new gaffa?
