Remember him lightning through that Everton midfield and defense when he first signed for us?
  2. He also gets on with Pardew, who always rates him in the press. Its probably a respect thing for Bobby, Newcastle United in general (pre Ashley), Alan Pardew etc. He full on knows they have it in them to destroy us.
  3. clubs are being sold at the price it costs to purchase some of the top players in the world. To think a player costs more than ownership interest in a club is insane to me as well.
  4. I haven't gotten a chance to see the match yet as I'm travelling for work, but sounds encouraging. He seems to be playing really well with Mike Williamson; assuming Willo is organizing the back line as well.

No business having a team in Miami other than Becks wanting to buy a home down there for his family. Commish needs to veto that idea. Detroit seems a reborn city in terms of sports these days. Commish should suggest Detroit to Becks

Would like to think its completely separate but wishful thinking has me hoping its all related and he's on his way out.

  8. You shouldn't need a tin hat. Anyone who doesn't realise the brilliance of Keegan needs locking up. The best manager we'll ever see at NUFC. I am quite curious as to whether Keegan would be capable of working with someone who has similar philosophies as Mike Ashley but is less spiteful/egotistical/crazy. In the abstract, I'm quite for the idea of being frugal, buying low and selling high, and having a director of football (that's not Joe Kinnear). I'd like to see an owner who would be able to integrate those philosophies with other forward-thinking measures like integration of advanced statistics, scientific conditioning, and an organizational effort to help players settle down/learn the language. I wonder if Keegan would be okay with those circumstances if he actually got along with the owner and had a DoF he could respect. Interesting points. I believe the forward thinking advanced statistics, scientific conditioning, and psychological/organizational effort for settling, regaining confidence and form, language etc. SHOULD be incorporated in any modern day top division club. I'll add that I don't mind a "frugal" owner, if he was someone who preferred to sanction the EXACT same transfer policy (using this as a base case) but the club utilized a modern medical/sports science to gain advantages via conditioning + a very shrewd tactical manager who was a bit of a maverick, I'd be all over it . You could say that is someone like Mauricio Pochettino. But the above to me is clear. The owner does not want to fund major transfers, fine. The owner is taking advantage of unique scouting situations to obtain young players who have potential. The owner has addressed strength, conditioning, and psychology of his players by employing best-in-class practices as a commitment to keeping the playing squad fit and healthy. The owner has employed a manager who uses his tactical knowledge of the game to constantly adapt and be proactive getting the best out of the players that are signed. This is ambitious, this is addressing the money problem or issue and finding ways around it to get on as level a playing field as possible.

  10. I get the idea that Pardew won't be fired. As long as he stays in-line with the press message of Mike Ashley he's safe from the line of fire.
  11. Krul Williamson Yanga-Mbiwa Debuchy Dummett Anita Cabaye Sissoko Marveaux Remy Cisse ...Things fall apart, we go 4-4-2 and Sissoko plays wide left, then switches for Marv who gets subbed for Gouffran.

I'd be bothered in that I can't believe a player who scored those quality goals could completely fall apart like he has since...shocking really. Those goals were flukes man, I've seen flukey goals or 1 offs by a player who just hits the ball right at that moment...

Perhaps he had already hit his peak leading up to his signing and we are now seeing a player on a massive decline for many reasons, footballing and not. What doesn't sit right to me are the goals he scored for us after he joined...all were bloody world class finishes with immense technique and confidence. He snatches at everything now, and confidence looks completely shot.
  14. what like ban the fans from the ground or something? Like him making a genuine attempt to sell the club on, perhaps at a loss. His main company are raking it in, why does he need the hassle? He really needs not to be let off the hook if he's even anywhere near being on the ropes. People in the NE need to stop buying track fucking suits and shit trainers at his crap stores. Stop buying that stuff altogether anyway, quality is better than quantity, but anyway... go to his competitor stores (don't tell me he owns ALL of the competitors....)
  15. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Any human being with a functioning brain could read a bullet point list of Ashley's decisions whilst owning this club and realize how very simple it could be to get things right and get the fans happy again....
  16. Aye, it is a fucking shame that about Beardsley. The man is a local legend but the fact he's sitting in Ashley's pocket quietly taking his wage is a joke.
  17. 99 have 10,000+ posts 179 have 5,000+ posts 455 have 1,000+ posts Of those, many don't/can't post any more. 2,321 members doesn't really tell you much. Edit: 1,073 accounts have logged in within the last 10 days. Would be really class to see where we all stand then based on the numbers. Cheers for the states man! What the f***!? Ack, typo - meaning to say stats.
  18. Bielsa managing us would be something else. I'd go for any gung-ho manager who has self confidence in himself, his tactics, and can instill that self belief/positivity into players. Simple stuff eh? A man who isn't already defeated at first whistle and who actually, and truly gets what football is all about. One day we'll get that and a new owner.

The above has it about 733...was hoping a rough 1,000 would be an interesting sample. Cheers for the numbers though Dave.
  21. Over 2,000 members of this forum. I'd love to know the % of the total 2,000+ members are considered active members of the forum, and of that % who would support the Time 4 Change type movement. Surely it has to be a majority in favor?
  22. What a dickhead, f***ing hell. I read the bold as he literally escaped jail.
  23. No worries dude, I was thoroughly bemused as to how Shearer could like Ashley, then just assumed he would b/c he gets on with Pardew or something and has kept Pardew in the job. Honestly, I'll say what I said before again, Keegan, Ashley, Hall, Shepherd, et al need to talk to their pals in the press and media and get the spotlight firmly planted on the fucking asshole(s) ruining our club.

    Alan Pardew

The 5-1 under CH man...almost brings a tear to my eye - we came out hungry and fucking destroyed them. Hell, even Glen Roeder managed to massacre the fucking Mackems at the SOL.
