my guess is Bunce told Howe not to do that regularly in order to protect the players from injuries, and this is reserved for very important matches like the league cup final. Somehow I just feel once Bunce arrived we stopped that high energy pressing for 90mins, but we did it again in that final

To be fair, even though it has been a rocky season so far, I bet 99% of you would take this back at late Jul when we have done fuck all in the transfer market and suffering from the rat saga everyday. Howe definitely has rooms for improvement but there are also something he definitely deserves a lot of praise. Woltemade fitting in ranks #1 to me. I would say I am pleased with his work done so far, although I agree a lose against the mackems would be a PR disaster.

He deserved a chance after those errors from Pope, especially if Pope is genuinely injured. And he has no one to blame but himself if he performs like this. I know he has a bit of mental issues but as an established GK at that age you simply couldn’t perform like that and cost the team two precious points at dying moments. Put it simple, another game like this, his career as a top flight GK is completely finished. No way we would take him permanently nor other teams would.

I thought he would be subbed for Ramsay together with the two wingers. Not his fault to be asked to stay for the full game. Just looked a strange decision to me.

I don’t think Howe has to be blamed for the second goal. Had it be a 2-1 win people would be singing praises for back to 7th. Ramsdale has to be the one that should be crucified for this result. Probably the only one as well.

Even if he’s blocked by two CBs surely he knows Romero kicked a ball towards the goal and he should be prepare for it This is fucking unacceptable

Not really. He is even worse than what we witnessed these few years. That 1.89 rating is quite objective imo.

I would say I do expect both to have development on their respective weaknesses after a few years under Howe - and that’s exactly why I am very disappointed by Gordon. It’s in fact a lot easy for him to develop his final ball, compare with Barnes who’s is naturally limited

Tbh both Gordon and Barnes are frustrating to me. If Gordon got Barnes striking ability, or Barnes got Gordon’s pace and dribbling, we would have the best left winger in the world
