I know I am the minority here but I fully support Eddie for rotating the squad even if it means we would drop a few points. I don’t want another injury-ridden season. I genuinely think Eddie has learnt a lesson here - he even willing to sub BG off now. Eddie deserves some praise here. I agree Murphy is our most reliable winger at this moment and I understand how weird it feels to see him being taken off for Elanga. However, I don’t want Murphy to take extra workload and risk injuries - it should be Gordon and Barnes who have to step up now and prove their value. Both have been very disappointing tbh.

I think we should have had a lot of experience that new acquisitions always need at least a few months or even a year to start performing. Yea those are mainly pre-takeover but back at that time people here tends to have more patience. Give him time.

Nah I don’t think it’s the opponent team that matters. It’s the opponent full back. Gordons dribbling ability rest on his acceleration advantage. And other than that his crossing, shooting , passing etc are just average at best for a winger. I don’t blame him for playing that bad against Wan Bissaka. He is Gordons nemesis. However, the real question is, if Gordon couldn’t further improve his game, once his explosiveness has gone due to injury or age, he might not be a starting winger for any EPL team, nevermind us. on that basis the club really should consider selling him next summer if we would find a decent replacement

Isak was always going to leave within 2 years since we need money and his contract was running out. We are fortunate to get Woltemade in because his replacement is always a problem that we need luck to resolve (and turn out we did). He definitely has peaked here. It’s just a matter of time his form will decline, due to injury, tactics, personal problems etc.

Some of the Benfica players are obviously not up to the ECL standard but you can see what role they are assigned by Jose, and clearly Lukebakio is the killer. Their idea is to exploit the mismatch between Lukebakio and Burn. We nearly conceded two or even three. Has been a very competitive game.
