Thumbs up for Barton today, no doubt the media will pick up on Barton speaking with Mick at the end. He handled yesterday really well. Fuck he's going to get battered against Stoke isn't he? He has had a good start to the season lets hope it continues. I didn't think that the 'pundits' did treat it a bit lightly to be honest and the managers handled it as expected. No point moaning about it from Chris. The tactic didn't work for Mick today and so easily could have backfired with a sending off.

Fuck that I want to see him on the pitch then I will believe.
-
Didn't think much of Ferguson then?

Is Gallagher shot in the head or what, when were Barca and Real in for Taylor???

take a fucking bow son

I would be happy to bring SWP on loan, whenever he's been a regualar starter he has been impressive.
-
Chuffed for the lad, it would have given him such a confidence boost. Lets hope this kind of form continues because he was pretty impressive v Man Utd considering the scraps he was feeding off, just a pity about that header but its not going to be the last sitter he ever misses is it?
-
Maybe this would be the idea if we signed Ben Arfa. I can't see it being any less effective than Nolan off Carroll, the only thing we would lose alot of work rate down the left hand side, and he links well with Enrique!

The thing is with Fat Mike, anything good he does is normally followed by a mighty old fuck up! I know nothing of this Tiote, going off people's reactions here he seems a decent player and someone who is an improvement on our current midfield. If this guy is as good as people say he is and Barton (a big if) can get anywhere near his Man City form then we'd have a half decent midfield. Nolan will be the biggest worry, don't think he is capable of getting goals in the PL anymore. Ifs a pity we haven't got a good player to play of Carroll, because the lad looked impressive against Man Utd with the scraps he had to feed off. The missed chance was dissapointing but nobody needs to tell him that was poor. Anyway, from the reaction on here and the fact he helped an unfancied team to the Ducth Championship last season I'd be happy with this purchase, seems the right age and the right type of player we need. If only we could get BFS to buy Smithy know it would be a real squad improvement.

Yes we got well and truly beat but we had some shockers out there tonight. Routledge was shocking. The full backs were under so much pressure, they are not going to get challenged like that again until we play. Man Utd again. Colo was ropey. Nolan well was Nolan. Really impressed with Andy Carroll and the whole teams work rate. Loads of room for improvement.

I think you underestimate the crapness of West Ham. I don't think its an almost certainty but definately a very long and tough battle against it though. If Sunderland lose Bent I can see them having a rough ride and not convinced by Blackburn though I reckon Sam will make them difficult to beat.

I am surprised other clubs are not in for Fabiano. Maybe Marseille are playing games with us over Ben Arfa until they secure Fabiano?

As crazily rich the Arabs are surely this story is a load of bull. If they were even thinking about spunking this kind of money they would try for players like Messi/Ronaldo/Rooney.

Me, unfortunately Get to it. Me or one of the others'll paste it in. Chapter 4: A New Hope A long time ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away... It is a time of Civil War as the Arfa Alliance flees the OM Empire. However, the Empire's net is closing in and any chance of escape looks slim. Darth Deschamps has ordered that the Rebel Alliance turn itself in and has dispatched several tabdroids to spread rumours of their fate. Meanwhile, the Smugglar Hughton Solo doesn't want any of this s*** and watches on, knowing full well Obi Ben Arfa would love to a trip inside his Millenium NUFC to get to TaTOONie. Jabba the Mike, and Llambias Crumb, cackle manically at the twisted web of distrust they have spread between the OM Empire and the Arfa Alliance. Best thing in this thread! Quality!

If you brought this in it would start getting silly. What about Solskjaer at Old Trafford when he hacked down Rob Lee, even though the argument is not as strong as a handball on the line there still is an argument that a sending off and red card was not punishment enough for Solskjaer. Someone mentioned rugby where penalty tries are awarded, that will only happen for persistant offenses really like pulling the scrum down close to the line. Usually the ref will give the offending team the benefit of doubt on a couple of occassions. As frustrating as it must be for Ghana I dont think there is a rule change needed. Can't compare this to England, as someone was punished and Ghana were given the chance to take advantage.

Would Silva and Milner swap positions in that team?

Glenn Roeder is in Rotterdam checking on some fella called Kuyt apparently, and Brett Emerton is signing any day now.

As if AC would want to move from his home town club to fucking dogshite like Stoke, I don't mind Birmingham so won't bad mouth them but they would hardly be eye openers for him would they? If there is any truth in it slap a £10m price tag on him, he is young, good and English that adds about £6m to your true value.

Macca, I dont think you can use goal stats from another division to prove or disprove a point, yes some players you mentioned from the Dutch league were prolific there and poor here, but then we can mention Drogba, who's record is not exactly great in France an inferior league in general to the Premier League, yet he is one of if not the best striker in the league and has been top quality since he arrived. As a freebie I would say Boyd is worth a shout, he has an eye for goal, if we can give him chances who knows, players has some how got to develop, seeing as shola has been around since he was 18 in the 1st team albeit struggling with injuries at times I don't think we are going to get much more out of him not that we had too much in the 1st place.

I'd be pleasantly surprised at last if we had 15 million bucks to spend. If Wickham could be bought for a reasonable price then great. I think 15 million invested correctly along with a loan or two as back up would see us comfortably stay in the league next season. If Andy Carroll can continue his development that would be a massive boost too.

Can't see Barca, droppinng the points at home next week. I normally prefer Madrid over Barca, but their transfer dealings in the summer were pretty ugly and Barca are a joy to watch, you just feel that whoever they play once they get ahead of steam that they could potentially batter them.
-
Whilst he surprised me at the start of the season and was very uselful, he has been pretty much non exsistent since December, our performances improved in the 2nd half of the season without him. Surely Enrique/Nolan/Carroll/Jonas/Colo are miles ahead of Smith as well as a few others, as good as Routledge and Williamson have been I think its a bit unfair to count them in player of the season given they only played for us half a season. If he was on a reasonable wage next season I would say keep as back up but given he is on a massive wage I am sure we could replace him with someone just as effective but on half the wages. With the likes of Fat Sam, in the league there is a chance that we'll get a decent bit of cash for him too. Nothing against Smith really I think he is a solid pro, just not good enough for us next season and on silly wages.

His stock has risen, I think Fulham were ridiculed when they first appointed him, but he has done an awesome job and seems a good bloke to. If Capello goes after the World Cup then I think Roy would be one of the 1st names on the list to replace him especially if they go down the English route.
