Jewell: NUFC 'not coming back' for Giles Barnes
The College Dropout replied to biggs's topic in Football
I fully agree. We took a step forward by selling him then took another back by replacing him with someone of the same abilities any larger wages. -
What was wrong with Dyer anyway? I reckon he just needed a long long rest (and yes i am the appropriate type of doctor).
-
Finishing above Spurs, Everton and even the Smogs will be difficult.
-
I actually feel quit bad for King. It's a shame for him personally, he could've lead Spurs to great success and had the ability to play at a very high level. And compared to alotta his colleagues he seemed a nice lad.
-
Tactically Fergie is much better than Wenger.
-
Butt has good vision and on his day can pass very well. Scott Parkers passing is like a poor mans Jermaine Jenas. I'd rather have Emre and Butt in the middle.
-
Without Bramble or Taylor I fear a Partizan stylee result would've occured against Zulte.

Fat bastard

They don't need the money so I reckon they can sign players of the calibre to bring them back up.
-
Gary Neville not good enough for NUFC??? That'll be the day.

The thing is though, if 2% of football managers in the uk are black then that fits in with the fact that 2% of the UK population is black according to the last census blowing his moan out of the water. By that argument you are wrong. Last night we had 4 "black" players in the starting XI 2 of which are English. Blacks account for much more than 2% of footballers in England at the very least.

"Bargain"

This thread is hilarious. Could any other player earn 15 pages of arguments? Personally I still like Bellamy and wwould wish him the best of luck in his career if he didn't play for L'Pool. Great footballer. Useless manager hired by a useless Chairman gave him rope. He jumped. He was sold for a pittance. All agreed? Now can we go back to moaning about Luque?
-
Was instrumental last night but I'd rather he was used as an option rather than an automatic starter.

The Souness defeat hurt the most. Although we had some chances against Marseille they probably had the cutting edge that we lacked, I just thought they played better than us. Sporting on the other hand had no pace at the back whatsoever not to mention we where winning 2-0 with 45 minutes left. If we had Bellamy in the side we would've won...... This year the teams are better. More so than any over year this Newcastle team is more unpredictable, I'd fancy us to beat most sides in a 1 off match but I fear the likes of Seville will be to strong over 2 legs.

Oh Dear

The worst part is that John Barnes has actually come on leaps and bounds since his early days as a presenter. He is much better on his own proper show because there he can just talk normally about football. His autocue reading skills have also improved, he's not as smooth as Linekar/BBC but he has that cheap Channel 5 charmless charm to him.

Baba isn't that bad a player imo. Highly average not to great going forward and not to great at defending but he is fairly reliable not to play like Carr and Bramble.
-
That's the thing, you can just see that Owen and Martens are going to be fckn dynamite together. Could be something spectacular next season.... UEFA Cup final more like.

The unsung heroes of the Premiership (my top 10) - how about yours?
The College Dropout replied to a topic in Football
Eh? Most people would say he's been brilliant for 2 years and will probably win Player Of The Year this season (or Drogba). Aside from the obvious skills he is great in the air and is possibly the best penalty taker in the world. -

Benni McCarthy has fitted to the Premiership with some ease. -
Unless Portsmouth/Totenham/West Ham sign all our players we aint getting that much. £12M for Owen is unlikely for atleast another year and I doubt he could find a bigger club in England that wouldn't need a pay-cut(top 4 aint happening). Once again nobody is paying £6M for Kieron Dyer, West Ham maybe if they stay up. We Bought Emre and Parker for less than a combined fee of £9M. Have they done anything to increase their value? Our players get payed too much money for their ability and they know it. Newcastle is a good place to go for a mercenary.

Maccarone blasts "Steve 'Magnificent' McClaren"
The College Dropout replied to Leazes1986's topic in Football
English and British styles of football are practically the same so you should remove Ferguson from that list. Curbishley and Allardyce have both done undeniably great jobs at Charlton and Bolton. As much as I loved Laurent no top manager in a top team would've allowed his laziness. All the top sides have more hard-working teams than us (Chelsea last year). The difference is that their flamboyant players are also hard-working. I doubt anyone called Maccarone a soft shite, he just seemed to lack a little quality. Ferguson thought RVN was lazy, he wouldn't tolerate Luque. -
They play in different positions. Barry has scored 10 goals already this season and Barton deserves his place imo.

Boumsong Luque And Duff is a possibility
