  2. For me the Feynoord game, but as this thread will prove there were so many great memories. Certainly a brilliant period to be a Newcastle fan. Dabizas 1-0 another highlight.

The vast majority of Iran doesn't hate westerners by the way. Their government might.

    Keegan or Shearer

I would prefere us to go for someone totally different with a good track record behind them. Its like asking a Liverpool fan if they want Dalgleish or Fowler as manager. For crist sake, look beyond the obvious. The sooner new people can start making names for themselves at this club the better. If it was a straight choice though, Shearer.

That Sun article sounds bollocks from start to end. I fully expect to be told we've all had our hopes dashed and been fooled when this 'bid' turns out to be a joke though.
  7. 4 cash turnstyles in the whole ground.
  8. Still waitin to get in. What a fuckin farce!

    The Loyal Players

That said, I can see him being one of our better players this coming season. Probably true. If we had a manager who could have us organised into something other than a mess, alot of our s*** from last season would probably be quality in this league. The fact that Bristol City fans are creaming themselves over signing Paul Hartley says it all to me. There is some real s**** in this league. Of the players who are leaving, most of them are our better athletes, what we will be left with is the players who are shot, knackered or just plain s***. This is the same problem as last season, I just don't believe with those players leaving we will be fit or fast enough to challenge at the top of the Championship. It might be a lower level, but the better managers build younger, hungrier sides even at this level. One or two Nicky Butts is good, a team full of them will be over-run and sent packing. You're probably correct to be fair. Im hoping some of our younger players will step up to the mark, but its probably too soon for most of them. We really needed to bring in a few younger hungry players over the summer. Actually, weve needed to do that for years, but shit like Nolan and Taylor come in instead.

Alan Smith isnt loyal. He left the team he supports to join their biggest rivals. If he was still decent he would be wanting out, no doubt about it.
  12. Anyone else expecting bother from Leeds fans? They have 2000 tickets sold plus pay at the gate seats. I remember when they had a friendly against Hibs 3 or 4 years ago. I was in Edinburgh before a Berwick game and the Leeds fans were rampaging through the city causing bother everywhere. Hibs fans werent much better mind.

Why are people slavering on about divine right. It means nothing. I've never heard anyone ever say their club has a divine right to anything. Its a bollocks term used by haters to put down fans of other clubs.

What are we, the 20th largest city in Britain? Hardly one of the largest I think you know as well as I that city boundries don't mean much here. Im sure the Tyneside conerbation has a population of around 800'000.

Not Totally We have until the end of august for transfers so if we're sold in the next 2 weeks we may still be able to offload some s**** and buy some fresh blood. Not ideal as it'll be scraping around for the dregs tbh. Its a long season and there have been clubs whove had terrible starts and ended up near the top. Were Palace not in the relegation zone at christmas one year recently and ended up in the playoffs. However, the longer this goes on the worse chance we have. Stating the obvious though I suppose.
  16. I doubt it will happen either. We could all see what was going to happen if we didn't spend in January appart from Ashley. Joke situation we find ourselves in and only an idiots could have let it happen.

Just shut up and pick up your wages you useless c***. It's not like you've ever earned them, I don't know what you're moaning about. He's correct. He has as much right to an opinion as any of us.

    Wonder where this takes place.

    RIP sale thread.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
  20. I don't see why he should shut up. I would be more worried if the players said nothing. Players at all clubs speak to the media.
  21. I said if he wants to leave, he should put a transfer request in. Personally, I hope he stays because I think he'd be the best full-back in the league but if he doesn't want to be here.... He's made it pretty clear he wants to stay imo. He just wants things sorted, same as the rest of us. That won't happen and he'll be forced to walk away - that does not make him a c***, greedy or any of the other disgraceful things he's been called over the last week. It all simply comes back to the fat slug at the helm. I thought he confirmed he wanted to leave, hence the thread title? We all want things sorting out but he's under contract to the club whereas we aren't. He's got a choice - he can either knuckle down and do what he's being paid handsomely to do or he can leave. I'm just saying that if it' the latter, he needs to do things properly. I've already said I want him to stay but I wouldn't want him to stay if he's going to twist on all the time. He's either part of the problem or part of the solution. "I'd like nothing more than to stay and help the team get back to where it belongs but there is no chance of us being promoted the way things are going. "Training has been good and no one is slacking or taking it easy. But there is a sense that everything is just drifting." "This cannot go on, it really can't. I feel for the good of my career I have to get away because it is dragging me down." What he wants and what he might have to do are clearly two different things. Like JJ says, why would he put a transfer request in when Shearer might take over next week and he gets what he wants? The fact is that if we're only going to have players on the books who want to be at Mike Ashley's Newcastle United and feel their career can progress here then we're looking at two sets of players - the wastes of oxygen we've already got on massive wedge and utterly desperate s**** from divisions lower than the Championship. I'd rather Beye was unhappy than not with the way things are going. I don't give two f***s if he's getting involved in fights on the pitch - I'm just living in hope that he's keeping in practice for the next time he sees Mike Ashley. So he wants to stay but he has to get away? That's my point. He's got a choice - he's either with us or he wants away. He needs to make a decision as he can't have it both ways. He doesnt have to make a decision atall, YET! Any player would be stupid to commit their future to the club at the moment.
  22. Midds, you're demanding he either hand in an official transfer request or tells everyone he is here to stay. No player in their right mind would do that at the moment unless they were desperate to leave.
  23. I know what the title thread says, but earlier in the summer he said he was willing to stay. He probably wants to stay assuming we start acting like a normal club and sort ourselves out. He would be stupid to put in an request, leave, then everything gets sorted. It might not be as black and white as you're making out.
