Pretty sure, if I could be bothered to search the thread, there's praise for his shot stopping earlier. The whole team is falling apart and failing at some of the basics. Maybe his weak hands are due to being unexpectedly exposed? I don't know mate, I just don't like it when we start to turn on individual players who have proved to be such stalwarts in the past. Of course not, but at least under Rafa he'd have been able to reach a certain potential. I don't think anyone here would disagree this situation has harmed his progression?

100% We know Ashley dosn't learn from mistakes when it comes to football and this is another McClaren situation, he'll stay in the job until it is way too late. Thread title amazingly apt. If it wasn't for the 15 choices above I think the poll would show 80% of the board is certain of that.

You're correct but Bruce is the visible face, Ashley is not standing on the touchline or doing the match interviews. I hope the fans turn on him soon. Hayden, and Schar, are showing the most frustration for a complete lack of direction/tactics. Ironical considering Hayden was (seemed to be) complaining about Rafa lying in wait outside the hotel and talking tactics for hours. Stupid tackle, born of frustration I suspect, expect to see the team fall apart even more as the games go by. Bruce is Carver levels of shitness but it doesn't matter - because Ashley.

I don't think Rafa would've fancied ASM at all tbh. I said the same thing after watching youtube videos of him when we were looking to sign him. Rafa likes players who can stick to his methods and play for the team. For someone like Bruce or Pardew though ASM could be perfect. Neither of those two would have any idea how to build a functioning team, so a player with a bit of magic to win a game is a godsend. Don't follow that logic. They both had Ben Arfa but made him a scapegoat at earliest opportunity. (Could be character differences like).
