People talk about Murphy losing the ball, Elanga loses it more and also creates nothing.

Barnes has played alright in general play, but has he crossed once yet? He's right footed and he seems to want to come inside every time.

Vs who? Ruddy is a backups backup and even if Pope was fit his middle name is fail this season.

Sunderland will probably have a Palace under Pardew type season IMO. They're playing on form, not quality. Good to see another team beat Liverpool while it lasts though. Either way I'm more bothered about how well we do than how well Sunderland do. If we need to worry about Sunderland for the rest of this season then we'll be underperforming.

The worst thing about the player that gives the ball away often, assists nothing and doesn't score (Elanga) is that he allows the guy who has scored and assisted (including most assists and goals from a right winger last season) to be in the team. I know goals and assists aren't absolutely everything. But it's beyond me how people don't realise that Murphy's pass completion rate is worse than many others because he actually risks losing the ball with crosses and passes. Which is exactly why he gets assists when he does. While others pass the ball back he tries to whip it in or tries a risky pass forward. He had a shite game today no doubt. But the shite he gets is pathetic.

He's got 1 goal and 3 assists from 13, which is good. Murphy has 2 goals and 1 assist from 10. Both definitely beat Elanga, but "lighting up the right side" seems a bit over the top.

20 goal contributions from right wing for Murphy last season, 11th out of all players in the league. Only Haaland, Isak, Salah and Mbuemo significantly more. But right wing has been our weakest position for years? Suppose creating and scoring goals must be of no importance for wingers.

Basically nobody in business pays wholly for large projects out of pocket. In fact most things aren't paid for like that. Cheap loans are usually used to keep money aside either for emergencies or other projects. That doesn't mean PIF will expect interest for the loans to be paid out of club revenue. They're juggling with PSR to attempt to be able to spend more. They aren't going to deliberately limit that further.

We were playing as if we were relying on the extra width provided by very attacking fullbacks with two players that couldn't provide it. Doesn't matter if it's 4 at the back or 5, its the fact we were playing as if we had Hall and Livremento, using Burn and Kraft.

Because we tried to play with wingbacks using players about as far from wingbacks as possible. Also Pope.
