They'd be one funny comedy act
-
I know, Steven Taylor's our third choice centre back IMO, the fuss that's being made about the lad is ridiculous. But it could end up in our favour if the likes of Liverpool really are interested.
-
That has to go down as one of the craziest transfer stories in quite some time. Just imagine we really spent £12.5m on a keeper
-
No, he isn't. He's defensively minded because he's a defender. He can tackle, but I wouldn't trust him with a long pass or to show some flair. I want a decent fee for him simply because we have no back-up to Gunter and Perch is more than good enough to hold his own if need be, but I doubt he'll become more than a squad player for us. Just thought I'd point out that they don't seem to have changed their minds as much as some are now making out. My point was that there's a difference between the mixed view we saw in January (a few saying he's shit, but plenty saying he's worth keeping and they're happy we rejected the bid) and just about everyone on the same forum saying he's shit now. Splodgley says thats down to him playing shit since January, I can't argue because I haven't seen him play outside of our game.

Strangely they didn't sound so gutted when our bid in January was rejected. Most of them were glad to see him stay..
-
Is he at Portsmouth like?
-
it insinuates we're looking at the Pompey cast offs too. Good, get Boateng in immediately!
-
If us and Blackburn were really serious about Boyd he wouldn't be going to Boro, unless he's clinically insane.

so if you get caught it isn't cheating ?......... Just about every foul is committed with the intention of gaining an unfair advantage. Does that make every footballer who has committed a foul (ie every last one of them) a cheat? stop fucking crying about it Oh grow up
-
The goal that would have counted had it not been for the handball maybe. Why should the team that cheated get a second chance to stop a goal that would have happened if not for the deliberate handball? Like I said, so late in a game its nothing but a get out clause for cheats, a no lose situation.

so if you get caught it isn't cheating ?......... Just about every foul is committed with the intention of gaining an unfair advantage. Does that make every footballer who has committed a foul (ie every last one of them) a cheat? There is no intention to decieve the referee. That is the important part. No one castigates a defender that clips the heels of an attacker that is through on goal and gets punished. Suarez committed a foul, no one was physically harmed, and his punishment fit the crime. Penalty + suspension. Ghana are out because Gyan missed a penalty. Simple as that. Well that's where you and I disagree, that the punishement fits the crime. If its the last minute of extra time and this goal will send your team out it then becomes only sensible (dishonourable but sensible) to handle anything that's going to go over the line. Because if you're not seen then you stop a goal for definite and if you are seen well you still get a second chance to stop a goal from the penalty spot, its a no lose situation for the cheat.

Beardsley  He's got not skill whatsoever, is slow as fuck and can't take a man on. Nothing like Beardsley even in style, nevermind quality. I wouldn't really care if he left tomorrow tbh. Just not for free. wouldnt technically be free as hes under 23 it would go to a tribunal i believe Might not be the case if its true that they didn't offer him a contract in writing.

I'm sure if the keeper hadn't been in the net he'd have just rolled the ball in like
-
Fucking hell its so close, but that screen grabs got to be more accurate then slow motion in Sky Plus so fair enough, just on.
-
Going to rewind my Sky Plus now, first time I saw it it looked like he was ahead, the things I'll do when I'm bored
-
Still can't believe nobody in the studio even questioned wether the second goal was offside or not.

Oh a penalty you say, yeah sorry you're right a pen is much worse then a certian goal.. As for a sending off, it only makes a difference earlier in the game, late in the game its 100% too a teams advantage to handle on the line if the ball would otherwise go in, they get a second chance with a keeper in the way to try to save the pen and the only punishement they get is that player missing the next match, meanwhile the opposition get no reward what so ever. What if this situation had been in the last 30 seconds of regular play. PK given, missed and now into Extra-Time. BUT now Uraguay are playing the additional 30 minutes with 10 men. Surely the fact that he denied a "Sure goal" is the same and he saved the match is the same, but now there are 30 mins more to play a man down. What if Suaraz was their main penalty taker? And red carding him and removing a 100% PK taker and making a "chris Waddle" take a PK surely changes the equation? I don;t see how you can define the parameters of granting a goal when it didn't cross the line. Those are circumstances where the current rule is fairly adequate of course, I'm only saying the rule doesn't fit every situation and IF it was possible to change it to work more evenly in every situation I'd be up for that (but it would take video footage of course, otherwise its impossible). I understand why you think the idea of being able to give a goal without the ball crossing the line is strange, but if the referee could be certain (video replay) its not that hard to define. A goal would only be given if the player handling the ball is the last man directly between the ball and the goal and the incident happens inside the six yard area. Any other handball inside the penalty area would only end in a penalty (and red for handling away from goal outside the six yard area).

Oh ok sorry I was just jumping on the bandwagon without taking any real notice of what you'd said FYP I was one of the first people to pull you up on it. Carry on being contrary though to try and get away from being wrong in the first place. I'll let you get on with it. Pull me up on what?, something I didn't actually say, well done. It doesn't matter how vague or evasive you are its not going to change anything. Why don't you just quote me saying that Ozil shouldn't be allowed to play for Germany and that'll be the end of it, easy yeah? I already admited I was wrong about where Ozil was born, but at no point did I ever claim he shouldn't be allowed to play for Germany. Its hilarious how you can create arguments out of thin air, half the time you're not even arguing with the person you're supposed to be talking to, you're arguing with your own opinion of what someone said wether they said it or not, get a grip FFS.

I am with you on anyone who jumps ship because of residency such as Cacau & I think Miroslav Klose is the same. But people born in a country who have parents from two countries haway man. DO NOT WATCH ENGLAND CRICKET TEAM YOU COULD IMPLODE!! I didn't say anything about people who are born in a country with parents from a different country. Er... yes you did. Who's the Turk then? I thought he was born in Turkey, TheSpence told me he was born in Germany and I said he should play for Germany then, you quoted that post, take some notice. Get your facts right before you peddle nonsense then. Who's your issue with? Cacau? Aye he's been instrumental. My issue (if that's what you want to call a few cracks at Germany's expense) is having 5 players in the Germany squad that weren't born in Germany. Do I actually care?, no, I've already explained what I think about it and the only real issue here is how overblown and silly this has gotten I think it would be ludicrous to force a player to play for a country that he has no memory of and no real affiliation with having not been brought up there. Again I'm not saying any of them can't play for Germany, its just strange to see so many people not born in Germany playing fot Germany, I should have known better then to comment on it for a laugh like

Finding out where a player is from isn't taking notice, its doing research You took no notice of where he was actually born before saying he couldn't play for them. What? I said he couldn't play for them?. What total and utter nonesense Oh ok sorry I was just jumping on the bandwagon without taking any real notice of what you'd said FYP
