  1. A half fit Owen who hasn't had any pre-season training? We're f'ed. By the way, it just dawned on me that if we don't win this game, we could go into the game against Hull with 2 out of a possible 9 points, and Hull would fancy an upset the way they're playing right now. How things can change in 45 minutes :/ How would we go into the game with 2 points out of 9 when we've only played 2 games so far?..
  2. Oh the sheer arrogance of Newcastle daring to want good players eh?.. I suppose we should forget that idea and just become a feeder club for the likes of Chelsea and Manure?.. The fact is he's trying to say that any good player we get will automatically have to move on to the likes of Manure if he does well, its total fucking arrogance! How you think those kind of comments paints us in a good light is beyond me
  3. Merson on Gutierrez on Soccer Saturday: "If he keeps playing like that every week he'll be playing for Man Utd, Chelsea or Liverpool soon" What a fucking prick!
  4. Go to the papers?, he was asked a question and he answered it.. Should he have ignored the question so Oliver could write a "Keegan upset to still have Ameobi" article? He's just reinforcing what he's telling Ameobi himself. We know its nothing more then that so why the fuck does anyone care?, as long as Ameobi's thick enough to believe it then it can only be a good thing.
  5. Listening to BBC Radio Newcastle now and I'm getting... Sunderland.. WTF?
  6. He's doing what Keegan does best, putting belief into players.. Do people expect him to say positive things to Ameobi and then go to the papers and call him worse then shit?
  7. To be honest I really don't remember Ronaldo ever coming out and making such a direct statement about wanting to leave.
  8. Had I been in Robinho's position I would've left Madrid as well. It's not about being a big club to get a big payday. It's about getting to play games, though seemingly in Robinho's case also get a big payday at another big club, but at least get to play games. Hmm thought he'd played the majority of there games last season but looking closer I see he's lost his place a bit last season and made only 21 starts.
  9. Still hope they beat the Spuds tomorrow
  10. So we now have players telling clubs like Real Madrid that they need to leave for Chelsea to further there career.. money has sent the game fucking crackers!

    The return of Lawro

Cant really disagree with him, i mean where would we be now if Owen was injured for the 2nd half of last season? The Championship? That kind of logic would make sense to a degree if nothing had changed since last season, but since that isn't the case it doesn't.

    Saviola on loan?

You defended the journal's article by saying that they were just getting at the fact that he's happy at the club. I was saying that being happy to stay doesn't equal turning anyone down which is what the journal claimed.. Not sure why you think I'm arguing with you directly.

    Saviola on loan?

Well you defended an article called "Javier Saviola Turns Down United Loan" so its not a huge leap to think that you'd agree with it.. What they're getting at is a negative eye catching headline, nothing more. They could easily have chosen a more accurate title such as "No Saviola offer made" or "Saviola happy at Madrid".

    Saviola on loan?

Nonsense mate its the usual negative misleading headlines. The player has basically said that unless the manager accepts an offer for him or tells him he won't play regularly he will stay. Which is obvious, you don't leave Real Madrid while you're wanted and will play regularly.. Not for Newcastle, not for Man Utd, not for AC Milan or anywhere else. That doesn't equal turning anyone down, he could have done that by dismissing the idea of a move here out of hand, but he didn't.
  15. Who let Frings' agent on here? Didn't say he was right, just that my reply was to the suggestion of buying Frings for big money, not buying him full stop..
  16. The person I replied to seemed to indicate we'd need to pay big money for Frings.
  17. If Woodgate and Coloccini both played for us I'd still pick Coloccini.
  18. Which top teams buy 32 year olds for big money though?
  19. Have to say i'd have liked him only on loan but I think Saviola is the better prospect, Can play as striker or attacking midfield. We'd only really need a powerhouse in a holding midfield role and a left back. Ideal situation is Saviola, Attacking midfielder, Holding Midfielder and left back but a bit of a big ask in 2 weeks unless the deals have been worked on for sometime. When it comes to centre midfielders, we need someone with a "quality" that they can bring to the side. Now i know that sounds obvious but what i mean is, we need someone who can bring a more specfic attribute. For example, if we brought in Tim Cahill we know he would get beyond the strikers and grab us a few goals from midfield or if we got Diarra we know he would dominate the midfield and win the ball. Although, Tiago is decent on the ball i feel right now we need a player that adds something special to our midfield. Frings would do it especially if the purse strings have been loosened. Too old, he's 32 in three months time.

    Saviola on loan?

Nowt like going overboard. It seems like a normal post then BAM, you read the last bit To be fair "do a job against" doesn't necessarily mean beat, just means we'd have a team capable of giving anyone a game, not far wrong IMO.
  21. That'll probably be the same day that people start refusing to go to the cinema or buy films because the likes of Will Smith get £10 million per movie. Or the same day people refuse to pay there TV license due to Jonathan Ross getting paid £115,000 per week.. oh hold on that's today, maybe not then
