I look at that defence and really do think we are blessed now. I look at the midfield and forward line and think we were better then.

I agree with the majority of this thread. We have some cracking players but not enough back up i.e. squad This tells me that the scouting set up works but the money is not forthcoming to take us further. My main sticking point is the fact that we didn't invest the 12m we got from villa (milner hasn't pulled up many trees from what I hear). We should not have waited until now to get a left back and a creative midfielder, this is Llambias or Ashley not wise, vetre jimenez and co...

I have also read a couple of reports where they insinuate that we we were lucky that they didn-t put their chances away??? I didn-t see any of these clear cut chances, shots from outside the area and a couple of half chances where our defenders got the better of them. Really does pish me off, we played well and deserved the plaudits but since everybody has an agenda....

Another point, Zoggy didn't really come alive until the second half did he?? Why don't we make him run the last 10 miles to the stadium so that he is "in form" for the first half for once. Strange phenomenum eh!!

Fair play to the man! He ahs definitely steadied us and we are playing much better as a unit but I wouldn't go as far to say that he will take us to where our expectation wants us to go. I will happily wait until the end of the season to see where we are and then make a decision. You are right when you say "names" aren't important, results are.

Regards enrique, I thought he had one of his "good" games yesterday, the mistakes he made were ones that happen to defenders i.e. player beating defender, what he didn't do was give a bad pass/jump in like a looney leading to a chance or anything like that. Bassong is looking like a great summer signing. Can we start a "we love wise and vetere" thread??

Enrique had his best game for me, solid throughout and cleaned up a few dodgy situations, passed it well today and nearly scored a stunner, can-t ask more of the lad... P.S. Fukc off Riiiise!!

Great all round performance today, can-t really fault any player. Forwards looked very dangerous, wingers worked well, middle of the field kept it tidy and the defence was excellent apart from a couple of small errrs by colo. Hawaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
