Both Mitro and perez deserve to start after their contributions in the last two games, but you could also say that Cisse and deJong have played pretty well in the last two. The formula is working at the moment i.e. the top two run themselves into the ground over 60 mins and then we unleash the two youngsters who just have too much energy for the tirning defence to contend with... I would personally stick with what we are doing, seems to be working nicely.

Looking at that list, would it be worth a punt on Samba? He had a couple of great seasons at Blackburn many moons ago...

Yes, I would love an imposing midfielder who can actually play a bit, shelvey would be a dream tbh! Add to that a quality centre back and we have the spine which our team is missing. If we got a striker as well that would just be too much, I would have a perma boner!

I think he's a plastic hotel door key

His final ball was beyond woeful today. He made most of the penetrating runs today and defended/pressed a bit better than usual. No complaints apart from the final ball, although he did put two across that should have been goals (cisse/Mitro). poor bloke needs a teflon flak jacket no? I do feel over critical of him at times like. However, I struggle to come to terms with those whose attitude is wrong. There were times today when the Spurs midfield just breezed past him and he didn't chase them. He just gives up too easy for me too often. It's one thing to be s*** and give 100% but it's inexcusable being a decent player who gives 50% or 100% for ten minutes. You're right about his attitude, it seems the same as the way he plays i.e. in bursts or spurts and then goes missing for 10... Suppose we have to just try and appreciate the positives a bit more...

Aye, stereotypical NUFC banana skin coming next week. One of the teams that makes us feel even better when we stuff them, dirty smug bast*rds!

I think he would be great in italy or Spain, but the prem seems to be played at a tempo which passes him by. Still undecided and would like him to suddenly assimilate the pace...

I've just watched the Tottenham goal on TV, Colo was marking Dier and he just allowed him to jog away, the commentator absolutely raked him for it! The bloke had a decent game but he is a complete liability at times.

Not my favourite player by a long chalk but he deserved MOTM today, was everywhere and kept us in it with his consistent harrying. If he keeps this up i will eat plenty H pie and enjoy it!

Some neat touches, lacks the ability to get stuck in and press quickly like ayoze does. oozes calm though and that must transmit to those around him. Still prefer ayoze to him though

Sorry but some of the above posts are just preconceived views from weeks back, both last week and this week he has looked sharp for the first hour. His game is not holding the ball up but he was always in space, was making the right runs (didn't get the pass) and he pressed hard for the hour. i really don't know how much more you could have asked from him. He looked dangerous to me. I am the first to slate him when he looks disinterested, but that was not the case. Put your f**kin specs on to watch the game!

Watched game today and paid attention to cisse, he played very well tbh, just didn't get the service...

If you could add aerial prowess and imposing physique imagine what would happen to our midfield... oh well!
-
Nailed it for me that article! exactly as he says, he does the unglamourous work, gives the ball to better players who will create things, the better the team around him the better he will look. Astonished to see he has 86% pass rate.

I can't see anyone bar an out of work desperate manager coming to us in January. Moyes would perhaps be the only experienced manager who could perhaps merit even being the replacement for McClaren. My main gripe with McClaren and his backroom is the fact they can't seem to motivate the players, wouldn't mind the dross so much or the relegation possibility if the players were giving 100%, if it was down to "they are a set of average plodders" then I wouldn't mind, but you look at the team sheet and the potential of them merits a mid table position.
-
Yes, he goes missing for long periods in a game but somebody please tell me the midfielder with whom we are going to replace him? Gouffran? Alienheed? Tbh, if we had someone who could replace him then yes, I would also be for selling him for 10M (?) and getting a replacement. On his day, which is one in four, he is excellent. As everyone else is saying, I think there are gaping holes that need filled in central midfield, central defense before anything else happens.

Shelvey would be a perfect fix for our midfield, tenacious player who has bags of vision and a great pass, add to that his height and aerial prowess the fact that we only have midgets in midfield he would walk it... PROBLEM: We forget that english players know exactly what our club is; a complete chaos! This is dreamland, unless there is a fallout or something going on with him at Swansea... NO CHANCE!

Like this line up. thauvin on and wiji in the middle is a huge step up from Anita/colback. If we bought a decent defensive midfielder in Jan this could be an excellent side...

I'd normally say Dummet was an upgrade on haidara but he was awful on saturday. Everything he did was nullified or opened us up to attacks. I would get Mbabu in for the next one, we will need some pace, also worried about colo...
-
Mind you, saying that he was too lenient on them card wise!
-
Sorry, but I deffo think it was a pen, when it happened I was screaming at colo for being a slow useless cun#! Maybe it's my eagle like vision??
-
No, some frazzly haired bloke who looked like he was on temazepam was our worst player...
-
The reasons for losing the game are quite straight forward: We didn't put the ball in the back of the net in the first half despite 70% possession and a few chances. Coloccini is slow and that was a penalty, he was too far from the ball to claim "covering" and from my point of view he charged him from just behind. He is not up to it and looks 10 yards slower than he ever has been. Summing up; we have lost a lot of these games solely due to the ridiculous decision (football board= hahah) not to cover a position where we desperately needed a commanding centre half.
