New box office telephone number (and the price of calling it)
Rebellious replied to Thespence's topic in Football
http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php Type in the number, 0870 0844 etc and it gives you the real number. Saves a fortune especially for free minutes on mobiles and free landline packages like I have. -
Fuck me, if this is planning for the future and stabilising the club I'd hate to see him making a complete arse of it. You have taken that out of context though. That one sentence you have picked goes with the rest of the post mate. I think its good how we arent paying stupid amounts in interest on debt now. I think its good he is trying to sort the wage bill out and its good how he is getting average to good money for players we don`t want. It`s also good he is trying to get players before their value shoots up. In that same post I have stated where I think he has made a complete arse of it.
-
Exactly, that was probably Keegans point. I don`t think Ashley was football savy enough to see this and too stupid to listen. By the time he realised it was too late and he lost a chunk of his money. I`m guessing if he must be like a rabbit caught in headlights at the moment and doesnt really know what the fuck to do.
-
I think this is a realy good strategy to be fair, it's just that we needed more urgent surgery in the short-term as well. Yes we can all see that and knew that before he became owner, but I think thats what he has badly underestimated.
-
To be honest Ashley not being an actual NUFC fan looked at our team on paper and thought we were good. It explains the Smith thing too. By making this mistake he thought he could build a team from youth upwards and had time on his hands. Not realising that the first team on paper looked good but actually weren`t good enough to keep us up whilst he slowly built a team for the future. I`m split whilst I think its great what he is doing for the future and how he is being really good with stablising the club he hadn`t correctly assesed the first the team just as he never used due diligence when buying. I think he is taking a massive gamble hoping the team will just stay up without spending stupid money on average players. Then he wants to add the odd 2 proven players a year (20m) to his devolping youth coming through. I also think he didn`t realise that no manager would be interested in us.

Anyone that thinks relegation would be a good thing does not watch much Championship football. We have had this type of topic before. When ever I get the chance to watch Championship football its usually better quality than the bottom half of the Premiership. Over the past few years some of the champioship teams have established themselves in the Premiership and its not always the best teams that come up either due to bad luck and injuries at the play off stage.

I thought Barton over reacted but he was right to react to Enrique. Jose couldn`t be bothered to get him fat self back and tuck in with the other 3 defenders. We might have already lost the game mentally when the pen was given but goal difference might be the difference between staying up and going down this season. A professional defender should know this and it must piss the other players off if someone isnt doing the basics. Armband or not Barton will react like that alot more.

I didn`t know what thread to put this in. I don`t understand what all the extra fuss and need to sack and protest every other month is all about. Looking at the league we are only 8 points from 7th with 16 games left. Theres 14 teams all on similar points, all of us could completely switch places every other week like we are at the moment. If anyone thinks we have any right to be anywhere near the top 6 then you need your heads checked. Nothings changed in the last 5 years, why is everyone acting so shocked you should be used to it by now. We always have 11 players injured, we always field a different team every week, we always have a different manager every year, referees always award bullshit pens and red cards against us and we are always in the goal of the month at least twice everytime with a wonder/freak goal scored against us. I also think all the teams are more equal this season in terms of skill level. Why so much knee jerk this year ?
-
I`ve already got an ignore function should I choose not to read something someones wrote. Secondly why would you want to ignore someone on a website that is all about reading all differents peoples opinions ?
-
I don`t see the problem. We wont be able to attract a decent manager until we are in Europe again. The club is no less of a joke than it was when nobody wanted the job before. I prefer him to Souness,Alladyce and Rodent or any of the caretakers.

How is it going to knock Edgars Confidence ? The boy isnt deluded enough to think he is on a par with Beye. Sporting titles and awards Individual Newcastle United Player of the Year: 2008 Club Strasbourg French Cup Winner: 2001 Marseille French Cup Runner up (2): 2006, 2007 UEFA Cup Runner up: 2004 The only way it would knock Edgars confidence is if we brought someone in with less experience then Edgar. Its like saying Ameobi`s confidence is knocked everytime Owen is picked ahead of him.

Aldo says: nah upfront Aldo says: really direct player Aldo says: or wide left Marc says: About time, we havnt got no one like that really. Aldo says: yh he aint shy infront of goal Aldo says: he'll have a pop

Just spoke to a friend who plays in the Scottish League, played against him last week. Will copy the convo on here if anyones interested. It sounds like a good signing.
-
I`ve been reading through to see if anyone else noticed this. As I wasn`t at the match I only had match choice to go by but I`m sure Coloccini had his back to the danger whilst Taylor watched unfolding pointing to Colo to do something about it when it was quite clear if Taylor actually reacted rather than pointed he could have done somethng. I think today highlighted Beye playing could have been the difference between a draw and a win today not just because of that one mistake.
-
I.e. actually pass to them. I had this convo last night with my mate. He just finished playing in a match against Rangers reserves, got beat 4-1. So I asked him about Ferguson as a replacement for Butt as I dont much about him. He reckons once he is over his injury he will still cut it in the prem and will actually find Owen and Martins with passes unlike most of our midfield. He reckons Rangers will except A slightly higher bid.

I don't get this thinking me. Thick as mince to who and since when do fans care what others think about? I don't and nor should anyone else. We're not LFC fans who need to be loved and and respected for some strange reason, in fact I know why, to validate themselves. Another thing, I honestly doubt anyone registered a flicker of emotion regarding that banner outside of Newcastle, certainly not the cockneys I know most thought it was funny and harmless. For me the pissy whinging element of reaction to it is embarrassing, small minded and tantamount to thick as mince. The real reason why some are against it is because they don't agree with the sentiment behind it, it has fuck all to do with being embarrassed, fuck all. That's just an excuse. Embarrassed by a few words? being "embarrassed by a few words" by someone else other than yourself, is the most embarrassing thing of all, and its been going on for a few years. With some obvious people making u-turns to suit the personalities, which I've already mentioned earlier. I just feel sorry for them. Poor things. You are absolutely right, its an excuse for an agenda or because they don't agree with the sentiment behind it. Who the hell thinks Mike Ashley is doing a good job for starters ? You`ve got to be fucking joking HTT and NE5. Right explain to me how anyone owning or working for NUFC, Ashley,Wise etc have any Mafia connections or ways of doing things ? Its a useless use of a word. Its like calling an apple and orange and then stating it doesn`t make you look thick. Right now I couldn`t give a flying fuck who owns this club or who plays for it or who manages it. We have been shit for years and we will be. Speaking for myself I entered this thread because I couldn`t understand why "Cockney Mafia" was used in the first place. Ashley & Wise Out would have been the most to the point logical thing to write on your banner. Some people in this thread seem to be arguing for the sake of arguing and to me purposely missing other peoples points. Its like arguing with the misses reading this shit sometimes.
-
I just don`t understand The Cockney bit or the Mafia bit. I only understand the relivence of the out bit. Thats why I feel it makes us look thick. Cockney - a native of London, esp. of the working class born in the East End, speaking a characteristic dialect of English. Traditionally defined as someone born within the sound of the bells of St. Mary-le-Bow church Mafia - A secret criminal organization operating mainly in the United States and Italy and engaged in illegal activities such as gambling, drug-dealing, protection, and prostitution. Any of various similar criminal organizations, especially when dominated by members of the same nationality. It should have just read " Ashley & Wise Out" Thats 1 letter less, you could have saved money.

Given is the better of the 2 keepers though. Given knows it, Kinnear knows it and, most importantly, Harper knows it. With Krul being at Carlisle it's a straight choice between the 2 of them and he's chosen Given. And he's still getting shit for it! You'll be the first to cry if Harper doesn't sign a new contract! Gotcha. Fuck me, way to motivate Harper who by the way has the small matter of a contract to sign. Can't see him signing that can you? How old is Harper ? Your talking about this like Harper is some sort of easily offended retard who thinks hes been hard done by for the past 11yrs. If a player thinks he is better than the number one choice he leaves Harper hasn`t.

Still out? b******. I thought he'd have made this one with Kinnear saying he was about 50/50 to play in the Wigan game. Beyes on crutches and youd think hes going to be out at least three weeks. Vidukas got a torn groin muscle, and Id think he would be at least three weeks as well. Oba Martins will be at least two weeks minimum. We already know Joey Barton is down, and with Nicky Butt going down against Liverpool, who knows what the team will be at Hull? I cant see any of the injured players coming back. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/12/29/newcastle-set-for-hectic-transfer-window-kinnear-72703-22566437/ Hadn't seen that, cheers. Given Taylor - Coloccini - Bassong - N'Zogbia Jonas - Geremi - Guthrie - Duff Xisco - Owen Subs: Harper, Edgar, Kadar, Doninger, Lua Lua, Carroll, Ameobi Why people continue to pick Xisco in their starting line up ahead of Carroll, Ameobi ( Late fitness test ) or anyone is beyond me. He has played a few times and has been worse than Rossi was from what I have seen. Its strongly rumored he was so rubbish its part of the reason Keegan went mental and left. Kinnear obviously doesn`t rate him either. Carroll and Ameobi have at least been average this season. I reckon at a guess Ranger would be more worthy of a place in the team than Xisco You couldn't be more wrong. You could try, but you wouldn't succeed. Hopefully I am. Interestingly When I was reading up on Xisco on a depor fan blog type thing they stated he is " Nearly as good as Luque " So maybe your right maybe all our problems are solved. Joking aside Scotass I will believe you as I usually find your posts and opinions to be quite good. Its just I remember all the hype Enrique, Luque and a few others from spain got.

I reckon at a guess Ranger would be more worthy of a place in the team than Xisco So because you've only seen him a few times and in your opinion is worse than Rossi, again based on seeing him a few times, he shouldn't be given a chance? I'll base my opinion of him and the reason for putting him in the starting line up on more than a few games. It's the FA cup aswell.. we don't have the squad depth to play our best possible XI week in week out as just a few injuries have shown us. Plus it'd give him a chance to prove himself worthy of some kind of first team place. He's a decent player from what I saw from his last season in La Liga. I highly doubt the reason that Keegan walked out was because he was 'so rubbish' Yeah sorry he is the next Raul with his 1 goal to 2 games ratio in the Canary Islands 2nd divsion when he was 20 yrs old. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1052723/Xisco-Dont-blame-Keegan-farce--I-just-want-score-Newcastle.html Xisco's signing is believed to have been a major factor in Keegan's resignation after Newcastle's director of football Dennis Wise and his assistant Tony Jimenez organised the deal for the striker. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun/2008/09/05/the-reasons-why-kevin-keegan-resigned-72703-21681798/ He certainly made it clear that he was not interested in the signing of Spanish Under-21 international Xisco. How many times has Jk used him since he was back from injury too ? I stick by what I said, My opinion is not based just on what little we have all seen of him but by that, 2 managers opinions and what I have read about him stats etc I feel Carroll and Ameobi are better suited to the Prem. The FA Cup is more physical too.

  I hope we aren`t planning or hoping to sign anyone born in London or a player married to a Londoner or good friends with Londoners, we have enough to put off a potential signing as it is without adding to it. Being a southerner myself I do find it a bit a thick but I view it in the same condescending way I view the hatred that Scotland has for England. Its a one way thing I or my friends don`t have an opinion on "Northerners" one way or the other, everyone are just people, you either like them or not, Culture, accent, stereotyping means nothing to me. To be honest I have never actually understood the link between the Banner and Ashley and Co , I havn`t asked because I thought it was a northern thing.

He is waiting to see if we stay up.

I say its the endless running with his head down until he runs into a defender loses posession and the whole team gets caught on the counter. Or maybe the going to sleep at leftback costing goals regardless of his natural position. He doesn`t score many and for some reason like the rest of the team can`t take a corner or cross spectaculary. If we get good money I won`t mind at all.
